He dug his own grave. Not even getting into Jon/Arin drama, Arin was pushing to get more videos up for more revenue even before the split. Ross was already being picked up to join GameGrumps, and they were starting to talk with Dan. He is the one who was the biggest factor in pushing GG to becoming something bigger, while Jon saw it more as a secondary channel to have fun with his friend, and wanted to focus on his own channel.

It's Arin's fault that they tripled their video count, but didn't hire skilled editors like Barry to make the videos remain entertaining.

Assuming he's still partnered with Maker, he still works under a company owned by Disney. I think he's going to get by just fine without those "big sponsors."

In the sense that he's a 40 year old parasite. He's created nothing of value on his own. He makes a tidy living off of sitting on a couch and telling other people's jokes. He has little to no interest in the thing that he makes his living off of. He is a fairly helpless child of a man that has lucked into everything he has

The issue is how they presented themselves. Arin has a very sarcastic tone coupled with a deeper voice, and coupled with how he had a small phase where he was a 7/10 in appearance, he carried a lot more respect with him, especially from people who knew of him from Newgrounds.

Jon, on the other hand, called himself a "knock-off AVGN" in his first videos, was overweight, wasn't sure of himself or what his comedy was going to be, and was only brought to light thanks to PBG, and later through GG. Now that he's gotten in (relative) shape, his confidence is boosted, and he knows what he wants to do, he's able to come across with more respect than Arin "I do paleo and work out but I'm still a fat piece of shit who doesn't know what a razor is" Hansen.

The difference between the two currently is that Arin doesn't get any respect because of Sequilitis (and being a manchild) and Jon doesn't get any respect because he called out minorities without being prepared for retaliation and caved like a bitch.

they could've made it into it's own studio with all of them working on each other's projects, using what little they make from youtube, what all they make on commissions, and what they made from patreon to hire more people to help streamline the animation process, but they didn't

Arin's definitely one of those guys who acts like what he likes about something is what makes it good on a superficial scale without ever really delving into what makes games good on a technical level
