What the fuck was his problem?
not enough daughters
only way for ugly people to become respected actors is to be eccentric as fuck
I always got the sense that Werner deliberately tried to provoke him just out of curiosity.
mental illness
being that ugly takes ts toll
He was literally diagnosed as a psychopath after initial suspicions of schizophrenia. (This was before anti social personality disorder became the more formal term). Very interesting to watch German interviews and behind the scenes footage of him, an angry psychopath beyond reproach. Yet in his appearance on Letterman he shows you how damned smooth he can come across. Terrifying
Watching the documentary about their relationship leads me to believe that it took little provoking to set him off.
He just wanted an opera house
he spent some time in a mental institute, so probably this
and later in life cocaine, every interview he gave in 70s and 80s he was fully coked out.
he was a german

I truly believe that anyone could've beaten kinsky to a bloody pulp but he would never stop spouting his antisocial "I'm so enlightened and you're all sheep" shit
i just know that it was always fun when he trolled interviewers, on purpose or not.

He was Polish
He definitely liked to fuck with him sometimes. There's a great quote from his book about the making of Fitzcarraldo:
>Kinski, realizing he was no longer the focal point of attention, began to bellow like a madman: his coffee had been luke-warm. There was no way to calm him down, which we desperately needed to do, since we were straining to hear the fragments coming over the shortwave radio so as to know whether we would have to organize further rescue efforts. After hours of his incessant ranting and raving, I ate the last piece of chocolate I had been keeping hidden in my cabin; I ate it practically in Kinski’s face, which he was holding very close to mine as he screamed his lungs out. He was so dumbfounded by my act of self-indulgence that all of a sudden he fell silent.
Name a cuter couple
Just watched him in Nosferatu. Beautiful performance.
Hey, I just watched that film too. It was real pretty, I'm surprised I've never seen it posted in any cinegrid threads.
Right, Nosferatu is pretty well known, both versions
