Scorsese, Herzog, and Lynch have all actually been tied to a screenplay called Love in Vain about Robert Johnson's life, but financing fell through each time.
ITT: Biopics you'd love to see
Is his life even that interesting?
well he kinda pioneered blues and rock and roll but I don't see how that would make a compelling film really
the myth is more interesting but has been done to death already
Wtf? All three cases would've been amazing. I'd honestly love seeing their takes on it.
nigga kys
Herzog even called it the greatest screenplay of all time.
...
There's a nuch of cool myths and an interesting setting, but not much of a story. I'd watch it, though.
I'd watch it though it would be Hollywoodized to death full of unsubtle moments, white liberal pandering, and ADHD tier editing, and probably some hit rapper/pop artist tie in.
>and probably some hit rapper/pop artist tie in.
50 Cent as Sonny Boy Williamson would be kino
He's not relevant anymore. They'd do like Quavo or some shit
I don't even know who the fuck that is.
Quasi-Biopic/road movie about John Kenedy Toole that is not an adaptation of Confederacy of Dunces
isnt this the guy who sold his soul to the devil? mite b cool
>closet fag writes mildly funny book and kills himself
>the end
Its slightly deeper than that. His fall from grace was far more prolonged.

Would prefer someone like Jodo doing a fantastical allegorical movie about him
Still waiting for a Genghis Khan one
...
I'd prefer if the manga about him gets an anime.
NIGGERS! Im legitimately mad at this point. What the fuck hollywood, get your asses up.
The guy learned guitar quickly and everyone decided it must have been the devil.
Thanks, but black people are over-represented in Hollywood so I will not be watching any more black people movies until this injustice is resolved.
Not particularly. He grew up poor, tried to learn guitar and sucked, then went to a different state to work with a semi-famous teacher and came back good. His adult life was basically spent wandering around and playing music, before he was eventually poisoned while still pretty obscure (he wasn't regarded as particularly important until an LP re-release of his music that coincided with a boom in British interest in blues in the late 1950s). I guess that could make for an interesting road movie-type setup, but everyone would probably think it was disappointing.
And the story about selling his soul to the devil wasn't even originally about Robert Johnson. Everyone that knew him agreed he never said it, and no one ever thought it about him. There was an earlier bluesman named Tommy Johnson (who was way more famous at the time) who was a crazy showman that liked claim that he sold his sold to the devil to get so good. Years later, people just mixed their names up because they're sort of similar and people barely knew anything about Robert at the time.
Actually, Blacks are the only Race that is actually accurately represented, or at least closest too it. Only over are (((whites))) and Asians.
Hmm, sounds like something a black supremacist would say. Have fun living life with a heart full of hate, sweetie. Who hurt you?
Has anyone read it?
