This is a masterpiece

This is a masterpiece.
If you don't accept it yet you are a pleb, simple as that.

It's unironically one of the three best films I've seen with Donnie Darko and Pulp Fiction.

Unironically they're all great

It's up there with Blade Runner and Twin Peaks in terms of like, holy fucking patrician

>it's an obvious allegory so it means it's good!

Not a masterpiece but I really enjoyed it. It was such a great experience to watch such a movie in a huge multiplex cinema and the mainstream audience getting confused. Everyone was expecting a psychological horror thriller but they got an allegorical arthouse flick.

Not a subtle one and there are many elements I can surely understnad people disklike, but what a ride those last 30 minutes were.

>it's an allegory so it means it's bad!

And not so obvious seeing how many don't even understand it

t. aronofsky

>Rick and Morty fan: The Post

So daring to make a film about the migrant crisis this early on.

>DUDE WHAT IF GOD WAS A PERSON
Killing of a Sacred Deer did it better.

Based nationalist poster

I can atually live with that.

its okay to not be a contrarian

It's good. They just advertised it wrong. Should have been a small arthouse release.

Joan Osborne did it better.

DUDE JESUS LMAO
DUDE DONT LITTER LMAO
DUDE JLAW LMAO

Didn't love the movie but should be nominated for best director.
Felt like being trapped in a nightmare
>because it was bad LOL XD
Grow up kid

Imagine if it was some no-name director that made it. Sup Forums would cream.

I don't think it's the greatest movie, but can we take a moment to appreciate the editing/camera movement? It made the movie feel like one long nightmare alongside all of the strange performances and psychological fuckery.

>If i put DUDE LMAOS I'll suddenly have actual arguments
'No'

Well, we came in with similar opinions and the same time. And I almost got quints. roll

Aronofski's work on the final third of the film alone is easily better than all directors actually nominated for this year's oscars. Fucking hell, to think that Gerwig and Peele(!) got a slot.
Insanely rich film on visual and content discarded in favor of blandness favored for political choices. Which could be applied to mother! too, but that's beside the point.

I respect your opinion but strongly disagree. It was a fun watch but calling it a masterpiece is a ridiculous claim.

subtle/10

it's not bad, its just hamfisted

Uncommon level of discourse right here. Bless you.

This movie sucks, I’ve never seen it

to bad it has jlaw in it
and that cover is beautiful, almost makes me want to see it.

It's almost perfect. I love the surrealism and how it just exponentially increases in absurdity. The religion shit is hamfisted though but isn't that big of a deal.

You have to go back

She's right though

All these people ITT jerking their dicks to a politically spun bible story as told by a Brooklyn cabbie who was fucking the lead

i liked it because it took some balls to make it and pull it off. I would seriously question anyone who says it's their favorite film but i would never say it's a bad film.

It's incredibly well done but not so much a masterpiece in conveying ideas or beliefs. Honestly, it doesnt know what it wants from the audience.

Why have his movies taken such a religious turn? I don't really have an issue with it, but it feels weird.

Couldn't say, I'd argue it's what one does when they're out of ideas. Black Swan was based on Swan Lake, the wrestler was more or less the same concept. He's made a career out of adapting ages old tales.

Fountain of Life is a pretty wack film.

>Fountain of Life
Leave it to tripfags...

I feel like a silly goose! The Fountain!

>Black Swan was based on Swan Lake
Perfect Blue

I meant not just featuring but is literally just a meta retelling. One of my favorites though
