What a boring mess. How the fuck did any of you like this? The only redeeming thing about it was the cinematography and setting. The camerawork was atrocious actually, the environment was all it had going for it.
The story never made me care about anyone who died. The soundtrack was like something out of a bad 90s television show.
Watching Sicario and 15 minutes in it's already 100x better

I liked it. One of the best from last year. Calling it a mess makes no sense. It was a straightforward story with no lames twist at the end. Jeremy Renner was great too.

I thought it was great, and I don’t know how you could think it was boring. It was a deliberately paced murder mystery with no fancy trick or bullshit. Renner and Olson were great.
It was too straightforward, to the point of there being absolutely zero intrigue. It was billed as a "mystery". There was no mystery. I called what was going to happen from the first 10 minutes.
It's a film that gives us no reason to care about the outcome of the story, or give us any meaningful (or believable) motivation for any of the characters. It's pure trash pleb filler. Oh yeah let's just throw in a half assed assault and rape just to make things edgy.

The shoot out was actually pretty realistic. Adrenaline was high and everyone was wearing vests. I also liked that Renner didn't go for Hollywood bullshit when sniping. Aim for center mass instead of a tiny target like a head.
