When did you tap out and why? Did the last title you were pulling from Marvel end/was cancled or was it something else? And if you haven't yet do you feel like you will soon? And how many are titles are you still pulling?

I quit Marvel for DC when DC started their Rebirth.

Haven't looked back. Marvel is garbage.

Only book I'm reading at Marvel is Renew Your Vows.

I should have tapped out after ANGR got cancelled.

I've never read Marvel.
When I decided to get into cape comics DC had an easy starting point with the new 52, but Marvel was all over the place and too intimidating to get into.

When deadpool became pansexual

I'm still reading almost all of the cosmic marvel titles

I'll read anything with a good creative team. Marvel, DC, Image, whatever. Blaming "Marvel" is stupid because good people still do good work for Marvel

One More Day. That was when I realized that cape comics are absolutely worthless and I should spend my time with something better

I quit after Secret Wars (2015). I hung on to see Hickman's story through to the end. I made the decision to quite after hearing about Civil War 2. I may pick up GOTG to see what it looks like post- Bendis

I never said I blamed Marvel. And I agree that they do have some talented people there. Just that I stopped pulling what little I had left.

>When did you tap out?

1992

Pretty much when I realized Secret Wars didn't fix it.

After secret wars 2

It was the dying breath of the old marvel and the demonic birth of numarvel

When DC announced a Fantastic Four book, and Marvel announced Two in One Special.

I was holding out hope for F4, but the only book I'm actually excited for on any level now is Waid's Cap and that's it.

And I'm not even a big cap fan.

The last Marvel book I cared about was Moon Knight. Now that's over, there is literally nothing worth reading.

There was no breaking point, I just gradually lost all interest in what they were doing like five or six years ago. Although outside of the cartoons, I never had much interest in Marvel in the first place. I can read anything from the 60s-80s, but after that their stuff just didn't click with me.

I tapped out of DC a few years back and haven't had a single regret. The stories were bland as fuck and I can't even remember the last cross over they did that was good

My pull list from Marvel consists of The Unbelievable Gwenpool, Ultimates^2, and U.S.Avengers, thanks for asking.

>When did you tap out and why?

Avengers Arena.

I feel like I don't have to go into more detail than that

I dunno, turn of the decade? I realized that since Dark Reign ended, Marvel hasn't had a status quo that actually felt familiar to me, it's like every time I look at it now, it's a different flavored What If universe.

For example, I'm seriously supposed to believe right now that Hydra conquered the US, replaced its government, and has an entire infrastructure in place and did this all off-screen between issues? Like it's only important to show the superheroes get defeated and then we can just ASSUME that means major changes to the world follow automatically between fights?

When you say "tap out" do you mean paying or reading?

Ethier.

>Sup Forums taps out
>Marvel doesn't even lose sales
huh

bleedingcool.com/2017/04/07/in-march-2017-marvel-brought-in-more-money-but-dc-comics-made-more-sales/

>When did you tap out and why?
When Miles replaced Peter in Ultimate.

I'm not Sup Forums tho. I'm OP.

>create a whole bunch of new, original young heroes as the next generation of Avengers
>kill 99% of them off unceremoniously
>never use the survivors again

I will never fucking understand why the fuck they thought that was a good idea.

When they created Gwenpool.

Is this a real thing?

Lmao Marvel. C'mon now.

When Marvel went full retard(SJW propaganda).

When Bendis started writing all my favorite characters

Was never really in, I just come over here from Sup Forums to see marvel people suffer. I'm kinda in on that

I only got into superhero comics about a year ago so DC Rebirth was a perfect jumping on point. I haven't pulled any Marvel titles since then but I am looking forward to Punisher: The Platoon and X-Men Grand Design

I guess Marvel felt hopeless about their future

Some of the Star Wars titles are good, so I technically haven't.

yeah just fuck you

Pretty much here.

I'm reading Thanos.
Online.
For free.
The last thing I bought was the trade of Planet Hulk a few years ago.
I pirate the movies.
Fuck Marvel.

Death of Wolverine. Loved me some old school Claremont era Logan and they spent 5 years neutering him. His death blow was mine as well.

>The Button
>Lazarus Project
>Superman Reborn
>Night of the Monster Men

Good one.

Tried reading All New Wolverine, gave up when Civil War II started, exclusively read DC now.

I quit marvel when they released the new lobo

I have Iron Fist on pull. That's it. I dropped X-Gold recently.

Black Spiderman.

>if we force our books on comic stores then we win!

I thank Jesus' Father every day that Batman doesn't belong to Marvel.

One More Day and never looked back.

Gosh I cant remember

Mid spring 2016? moved away from college and my old comic store tried to jew me out of cash by adding whatever books they thought I'd like to my pull list and getting pissed when I didn't want em

Since then I saw what happened to marvel and good god I got out little before the door slammed I guess. Secret wars is the last thing I remember

Avengers Arena is when my eyes started to glaze over and haven't bought any since. Secret Wars was when I just said fuck it. Like I'm reading Scarlet Spider and the Punisher but every week I notice it's less and less Marvel.

>my old comic store tried to jew me out of cash by adding whatever books they thought I'd like to my pull list and getting pissed when I didn't want em
That sucks. They sound like pricks.

Civil War II. Only because ONE issue that wasn't apart of the series explained the whole conflict/story better than the damn series.

One More Day.

The few storytimes I've read on Sup Forums from new shit over the years is what's keeping me away.

I tapped out of capes in general a few years back. As loathsome as the tokenism shit Marvel is currently doing is, the quality of stories is almost uniformly mediocre across Marvel and DC, and certainly not shelling out money for on the regular.

I occasionally pick up books that have genuinely fantastic creative teams. The recent Vision run is the last Marvel thing I read, and the only DC product I'm touching is Shade.

One More Day. I've seen nothing much to warrant being worth my attention since.

>but the only book I'm actually excited for on any level now is Waid's Cap and that's it.
>And I'm not even a big cap fan.
Waid's Cap will just be a white apology book with some hamfisted social politics. If you want good Cap stories, read Brubaker's run.

I've been dropping and picking it up again for 10 years, but I dropped it in full 5 years ago. Marvel peaked ages ago. I'll still read an issue or two of something that piques my interest, but I'm not actively supporting the company every week like I used to.

i like to read the star wars

>buying comics

lmao

When they squashed the Fantastic Four out of pure spite.

End of Secret Wars. Just seemed like a good place to stop.

but do you pay for ANY comics?

you sound poor, that must suck

Still pulling RYV, SM/DP, AN Wolverine, GotG Venom and Venomverse.

>buying the illustrated jew

Marvel admits that they like to piss off their fans to drive sales. Why indulge them? Instead of outrage farming/progressive pandering how about they make good comics?

>Implying there's anything wrong with paying for comics.
Poorfag detected. Get a job.

Most people who don't buy comics, are usually poor. So yeah, it sucks for him.

still pulling RYV, DP, XM:B, MM, GP, A, SE, JG, PPSSM, IaG, R, USA, CA, tMT, and probably others can't remember

Last Marvel book I'd been reading was Nova

Nothing upcoming looks that interesting so I'm back to zero Marvel pulls

well I buy what I think is good, or at least ok

I'm not out to wage war by not buying what I like

I consider helping the industry a worthy use of money, and yes I buy much more than marlel

yeah I pulled the scarlet spiders arc of spider verse so they put every spider verse tie-in into my box and when I put them back on the shelves (which I had been doing for years, guess they didnt notice) one of em got pissed and told me I was fucking up the counts or something. Nigga I didn't ask for 30 issues of spiderman I just wanna see my boi Ben Reilly and based Kaine

One More Day. I'm semi-back with Renew Your Vows, and I'm thinking about picking up Priest's Black Bolt book, but nothing they've done since then has made me want to come back since 2007.

I think the best way to help the industry is to force them to fix themselves rather than let them limp on with relaunches, variant covers and events as their crutches.

a lot of shops get overrun by self entitled shitheads who have forgotten that they're lucky to get a single cent for funny books in this day and age

I stopped doing business with a shop like that and went further away, and it eventually that shop went out of business

unless you kidnap Ike and hold a gun to his head, you won't force anything, except comic shops out of business

Right around Secret Wars. Everything I was reading got cancelled and immediately renewed so I just let that train leave the station. Prez got canned around the same time so I gave up on DC too.

Cutting corporate comics is clean living and I highly recommend it.

>except comic shops out of business

Nothing wrong with that. Lots of small businesses go under every month. Marvel will have to do figure their shit out when the only stores left selling floppies are huge stores in major cities

Just before Clone Conspiracy started. I had financial problems so dropped all comics, but only went back to DC Rebirth as Deadpool, Spider-man, X-Men, etc all seemed to be all over the place story wise for me missing only 3 months of comics. Something like 40 issues to get caught up on everything and I just couldn't.

so you'd rather have comics cease to be a thing if it means marvel goes out of business

you should step away from talking or thinking about comics completely, my dude

When people criticized their comics online they responded with "MUH HARASSMENT!" They are complete snowflakes on social media they block everyone who gives constructive criticism.

Good to hear. Fuck these hipster douches

>implying Sup Forums reads comics anyways
lol

...

talented people won't do the art or the stories anymore, it'll literally be just wecomics, my dude

>people with only 1 marketable skill that already struggle with deadlines and authority will stop using that skill and become officedrones

Really Dozles my nozzle

Marvel is already webcomics. Anything good in the comics world is already made outside of the Big Two's backbreaking system.

I'm still reading, my main books are Gwenpool, USAvengers, Ultimates^2 and I was reading the Captain Americas and Secret Empire books but I'm just burnt out on those and not really enjoying them anymore.

Aren't you forgetting Avengers Undercover? :^)

I mostly only read Cosmic books, so with the cancellation of Ultimates I'm down to just GOTG. Thanos didn't grab me and I feel the Rocket and Groot series are stealth minis that will inevitably be collected, probably together. Really wish Marvel hadn't cancelled Nova.

I still read a few Marvel books sadly. It's just kind of a hard habit to kick. But the amount of Marvel in my pull list dropped sharply after the bankruptcy and has only declined since. Mostly it's just characters from my youth who I've stuck with like Venom.

I don't read comic books, I'm not 14 anymore.

I've heard good things about Black Bolt and Iron Fist, but I'm not at all okay with Marvel's shithumans push and the last Iron Fist run was so damn mediocre. I wouldn't mind throwing another book or two on my pull since I'm down a few, but I'm understandably gunshy about Marvel these days.

>talented people won't do the art or the stories anymore

So nothing changes

You're the kind of asshole who defends shitty videos game companies like Capcom out some retarded fear they may not make NEW POPULAR GAME INSTALLMENT despite the last decade or so being mostly shit.

Im a consumer. Im not going to buy a product I hate just to support a company that clearly hates me. If they want my money they need to turn out a better product and damn everything else.

Companies need to take the lose and they need to take it hard or else they're never going to change.

I'm still buying their comics

Renew Your Vows
Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider
All new guardians of the galaxy
Deadpool
Venom

Stopped buying marvel comics after Earth 616 collide with another Earth, and the only comic I was regular following was Deadpool

In my country ((they)) change the price from the monthly of 2,50€ to a weekly for 3,70€

Fuck marvel

the artists will churn out commission porn and the writers will write fanfics while being officedrones

this is the future you chose

if you hate it don't buy it, certainly not telling you to buy something you hate, my dude

you obviously feel way stronger than I do, and your money should be saved for your future rectal prolapse surgery

Dropped Moon Knight like 6 or 7 issues in when it was clear Lemire's run wasn't going to get better. Dropped Hulk finally after the latest issue since it feels like it's just spinning its wheels. Black Widow and Scarlet Witch ended. I was thinking of buying Zdarsky's Spider-Man book to have at least one Marvel book on my pull list, but the first couple issues were mediocre so I'm saving myself the money. Only Marvel book in the foreseeable future I see myself buying is The Platoon.

Maybe you should spend less on shitty comics and more on common sense

So the only other reason to be on this board is you watch cartoons, a much more mature hobby.
