They explained it tho. She is the one who created the memory thing and helped develop VR. Considering she knew how to control the VR from the inside, it's safe to assume she knew how to do the trick Paul pulled off on the VR: dilate time to train. The black girl said Paul could xtend the vr time to months while only a single day passed on the outside. I'm betting on the second season there will be a lot of VR trained bad guys

She is 2 different characters in the book. They decided to give her both of their talents and none of their faults so you get literally superwoman.
