This movie's great, bar some ancillary details. It's extremely well made. Hell, it's one of the best alien invasion movies.
The one plot detail that needs to be obscured is just how observant the aliens would be before they invade. Aliens dying of disease makes sense if it's a hurried affair or the invaders were like unprepared exploration team (disease has been a huge killer in war throughout history).
That and the son going off "to fight them!" are the only big criticisms I've heard about the movie. And the fact that there happens to be a liked older movie (seemingly ignoring the book). People really need to get over thinking past iterations are better on principle, just because there's a lot of shitty remakes. Some remakes and adaptations are way better than the source material. Remakes done by good directors who love and properly understand the original are usually pretty good.

Top tier film

>think only you liked
>posts Cruises highest grossing non-Mission Impossible movie
post some obscure floppy crap then, you can't be the only one who liked movie that earned 600M

This spooked me when I was younger

Good movie

i always thought this movie did a good job to fight the "lol they die of colds xdd" by having them start to terraform the planet near the end of the film.
id imagine that if enough time went by and the blood-plant were allowed to grow that eventually they'd be able to leave the walkers and be alright

I know I am not the only one, but this movie never gets any love

...

Are you serious? This is pretty good Sci-Fi flick and the effects still hold up. Plus the acting is top notch throughout the whole movie.

fucking shitty movie

go on, find me anyone else who liked this
you cant

This may be because I watched it at a young age

Not at all. It just felt tamed down. Kubrick's version would have been darker. The ending with the evolved robots was a great idea but it felt way too cheesy in those last moments. The blue ferry explaining everything was a terrible idea.

The ego shooter sequence still holds up. Too bad the story is boring as fuck.

...

just watched this, not terrible for sure

>Kubrick's version would have been darker.
Everyone involved confirmed the darker elements were introduced by Spielberg. The entire story has the tone of a fairy tale, the ending doesn't really seem that out of place.

Lots of people like it.

I really hoped this would be Proya's comeback. But it felt way too campy for me. A serious grim dark edgy tone would have been great here.

I know that the Pinocchio and fairy tale elements and references were placed carefully, but it I felt like being overreached. Explaining story details like the blue ferry did at the end killed every bit of ambiguity and complexity the whole story had built upto this point.

I think Stallone Dredd is just a fun as fuck action movie with a lot of really cool and fun set pieces. I watched it as a teenager, loved it, and rewatch it every few years. I don’t see why the movie gets hate for being what it is when a lot of the same people who always shit on it typically seem to overlap with the retards who recommend shit like King Fury which is fucking trash. How can you “love” shitty parodies of cheesy over the top action movies and then not love arguably one of the goofiest ones ever? It’s a fun fucking movie.

I still don't understand the hate. I am not even a fan of the game. I jsu tpalyed it like for 3 months or so but it was a well made and unique looking high fantasy flick.

You, sir, have a good taste.

Yep, just you.

You haven't been here long if you think you're the only one that likes this.

I really liked this. It's clear Ridley wanted to make a creator/creation film with the Fassbenders, and the only way he could was to put it into his Alien universe. Ironically the scenes that feature the actual aliens are the worst in the film.

never understood his obsession for blue paint.

I like that film so I can jerk it to Mrs mcfly's cute ass

...

I didnt just like it, it's one of my favorite movie.

Fantastic cinematography.

One of the latest SF gem, before cgi faggotry and Disney

I hear lots of good stuff about this movie and it has based michael shannon so its probably good

The greatest day I had at the megaplex was seeing Mi:4 in IMAX, then Dragon Tattoo, then Tintin.

i'm with you, user.

...

fuck you all

Not a bad movie at all.
Too sterile maybe.

Sweeney Todd is a guilty pleasure of mine.
Objectively it's probably like a 6/10 but I enjoy it so much id give it an 8.5

Movie was good but the little girl screaming nonstop almost made me leave the theater.

This is a good movie, it's just spergs and critics comparing it to muh sacred Tarkovsky

Watch it again and pay attention to how often and how loud she screams at the top of her lungs.
Acting.

>director known for satire and having wonky performances on purpose
>suddenly showgirls is taken seriously by everyone and is ripped to pieces
I don't understand how people can't see it for the love letter to showbiz sleaze that it is. Great taste user.

Also it's good fap material

You are not alone

I concur with your opinion

Probably my favorite film

9/10 movie

everyone likes that movie

Shit! Was is this from?
Looks like it came from my type of obscure 80s sci-fi flick

This was a good fap movie for me in my early teens brah

Both the title and the year are in the file name, dummy.

>Brittany Murphy
It still hurts ...

I was amazed by the special effects as a kid but I really don't remember much else about it. I should watch it again soon.

Hello underage.

so good

Almost all of it are A+ practical effects, and the little CGI there is has actually aged quite well.

Anyway, for some reason all reviewers got together and decided they hated it, despite it being more interesting and entertaining than most 90's horror.

Fuck you, it was good.

bros, the fuck are you talking about? both of these movies, especially AI, were regarded as two of the best movies of that decade. Ignore the plebs on here.

Tank Girl

I'm pretty sure that nobody else in the world likes it, so I'm not even going t bother finding the box art.

I enjoyed the movie itself. But the problem is it's so historically inaccurate that it really bothers me from enjoying it fully

Everyone thought A.I was shit

I think the bigger problem is that no one ever watched that movie aside from you and the Nostalgia Critic

...

Reception of AI was really mixed.

it's trendy to like A.I on Sup Forums now

Wait, people don't like this movie? It must just be the type of people who get mad for depicting savages as savages, right?

Sup Forums would lose it's mind if this were made today

lol shitpoor cgi all fucking over this movie

It was trash and didn't have enough scarring images for it be memorable like the original Pinocchio

Same. I thought it was hyperborean fiction

I like the movie, but people complained about Dakota Fanning screaming quite a bit.

The Watch, everyone i let borrow hated it, everyone who has seen it though it was garbage as well...

Also, aesthetically, the mechanical body horror they had going on was right up my alley. Shame we don't have more movies along those lines.

I can't stand a thing in that movie. It's the only one in the series I can't sit through again.

The Orc scenes were all fantastic. It's just bogged down by every part with the humans literally looking like a fan-film.

Too bad we'll never see a Warcraft film done fully with expansion pack trailer-tier CG.

Sup Forums is full of over reactionary fags, we're well aware.

The first half is so fucking good but I felt that there was missed opportunity in the second half.

I've only heard autists on here bitching about her. For some reason a child being scared causes them to sperg out.

check this dumb shits theyshootpictures.com/21stcentury_films50-1.htm

A.I. is widely regarded as one of the best films of the century by all non-plebs

>For some reason a child being scared causes them to sperg out.
you hear about this a lot on reddit especcialy r/horror, they can handle anything with kids

THIS, this movie is fucking amazing, always rewatch the shit out of it

Great taste user

*can't

I remember that movie freaking the fuck out of me when I was a kid. I think it was because of this scene where a guy got ripped into four pieces. Something like that.

I wouldnt call it a good story, but the visuals were great and the paleolithic theme is severely underused.
