KYLE

Looking at the three writers for IX, i'm sure it's going to be shit. Unless between now and then Lucasfilm step in get someone new.

Post cute girls doing cute things.

Best and worst The Clone Wars arcs, go.

>Actually, only the Han Solo movie can really be considered "severe", and even then Ron Howard is respected enough by both the fans and Lucasfilm that I think a competant movie is still going to come out of it.
I don't know. The film was nearly done filming and having a different director with a different vision is going to mess up the tone unless he tries to copy the previous style.

>Rogue One had very minor re-shoots, as most big movies do, and Gareth has spoke about how it was just to streamline the final act a bit better.
Yeah, but was Rogue One's original story supposed to be different like a war story? But to be fair Rogue One turned out okay.

>IX still has well over two years to finalize a script, film and edit, so its too early to call it a blunder.
Reports said that Episode 9 is filming in January so there's not a lot of time left.

I could be wrong but I thought Episode 8 had to go through heavy rewrites just to fix TFA's problems? And there's the Boba Fett spin off film that got cancelled because of Fantastic Four's director.

I'd say the best was Umbara and the worst by far was that shitty droid squad thing.

My God...I beat that user that always posts the "What Is She /swco/?" shit. I feel better about this than I probably should.

Honestly, I hope for the best, but I'm still not wild about the Sequel Era. It just doesn't look all that interesting. Hell for some reason I feel like the stakes have never been smaller.

Best is Maul/Umbara/The Wrong Jedi. Those are the trifecta of the perfect arcs.

Honourable mentions to Padawan Lost, Rookies/Kamino, Malevolence, Geonosis, Ryloth, and the Zillo Beast.

Worst is... Honestly I dont know, I love the show too much, I can't really hate an arc. Even Meebus Gascon gave us some fun moments, and a fucking Republic Commando spotlight.

Best: Maul's rise and fall
Worst: I don't know if it counts as an Arc, but the Senate Murders with that police investigator guy. Only the worst because it is barely memorable.

>you remembered it enough to list it
Seems the episode is more memorable than you think!

/swco/ are time has come, execute order 66.

Honestly I only remember one line from it that stood out as a bit, I dunno, forced: "I don't have time for Time!"

It shall be done my Lord.
*executes waifu*

>having a different director with a different vision is going to mess up the tone unless he tries to copy the previous style.

According to rumor, the original tone was all wrong (way too jokey and sarcastic), which is why the original directors were replaced. A change in tone is probably a good thing.

The Sequel Era (for me, anyway) is so boring and uninteresting is that it's exactly like the OT. Why would I want to get invested in a story that's just a copy of another story? Especially when they're in the same universe.
I've already seen underdog Rebels in X-Wings take down Star Destroyers and Death Stars, I don't need to see it again.

I heard one of the early drafts of the script had the Galaxy in a sort of Feudal Warlords state, where the New Republic only had control of the core and some of the Mid Rim. The rest was under control of Imperial Governors and Barons that were all now trying to become the next Emperor, with a few crime syndicates thrown in there just to spice things up.
But thinking about it can only add to my misery, so, who knows, maybe we'll get some cool shit in Ep. VIII.

Maybe Filoni's new show is set in the Sequel Era, between VI and VII, and he can inject some good stories into it and salvage it. I mean, following in the wake of Wendig's Aftermath and needing to work up to where we started in EP VII leaves about 30 years to work with.
Who knows...maybe they'll cram a lot of EU shit into it. Delusions and dreams like this can't be healthy.

Daily reminder that once Filoni has full control of Lucasfilm he will excecute all the waifus.

At the end of the day I can't see VIII or Filoni fixing this because the problem is at its roots; the New Republic is gone before it was even properly introduced to the audience, the good guys are underdog Rebels fighting against the evil all controlling Empire. There's no way to fix that rn. The only way they could is to defeat the Empire AGAIN in IX, and introduce a New New Republic and maybe do a cool, Remnant vs New Republic conflict, or god forbid something new entirely?

He can't keep getting away with it

...

i hate how the rest of the trilogy and ST franchise are basically attempts to salvage the fuckup of YFA

Is this your STAND Tarkin!

>Two tarkin threads in a row

fucking nice

When is Vader story time?

It's not going to help if most of it was filmed already. Reshoots aren't going to be enough.

He hasn't executed his own waifu yet

Can he help save the ST?

He sort of did.

He always said that Ahsoka met Vader, it "wouldn't be good."

He could have just avoided that happening, but he bit the bullet and made it happen. And he was right, assuming Ahsoka lived in a completely literal sense, the last bit of hope she had left must be crushed out of her.

Just because he was the only tolerable character in TFA (*when he was wearing the mask) doesn't mean he can stop this ship from sinking. It was set to fail in TFA, nothing can really change that.

>(*when he was wearing the mask)
The man with no taste.jpg
he's good. He was literally dying when he lost to Rey, so I don't count that as a bad thing against him. He is definitely one of the only reasons I am going to see VIII. He's already having doubts about killing han, that might just be enough to make him turn. That'd be interesting.

Yes, depending on how they handle him. I actually think his storyline could be the only saving grace in the end.

Though I'm sure that even if he gets redeemed in a satisfying way, people will cry about it being a "rehash". Even though redemption is a theme of Star Wars.

>He was literally dying when he lost to Rey
please give me a rematch where he dumpsters her because she was lucky to fight against him while he was injured. I'd sell my dick for this.

>Filoni has full control of Lucasfilm
If he did we wouldn't be getting a bunch of shite movies

Supposedly he wins handily against her on Ahch-to but Luke interferes. After that, he's probably on a redemption path so it won't matter.

Well I am in the market for a qt slavegirl if there's any in stock...

This. The obsession with Kylo being some boring badass Vader clone in a mask is hilarious to me. Do you want the ST to be unique or not? Because people can't seem to make up their minds.

F

>the New Republic is gone before it was even properly introduced to the audience

If they establish a New Republic that is devestated by the First Order's initial attack from Starkiller Base in TLJ, then they can probably salvage the ST. I feel like this is why J.J. didn't establish the Republic at all is so he could still replay ANH, but also allow future directors to cover the Republic. After all, only a few planets got destroyed. It'd be like if Washington D.C. was wiped out. The United States would still have a government, just a slightly more dysfunctional one.

Well, we might end up with a more functional one so maybe that's a bad example.

Qui-Gon book when?

It's because Adam Driver had cringey dialogue and acting.

Dialogue was cringe, acting was fine. And it was still him when the mask was on so that's not different.

>that pic
>there are people that will unironically defend DLC skins for a movie

How many waifus will Filoni slaughter until he is stopped for good?

What Star Wars films do you rewatch most frequently, and why?

I want to rewatch a SW movie tonight, but can't make up my mind. Which of the SW films, including standalones, spinoff, holiday specials, and tv shows, do you find yourself returning to most often? And what about it makes you want to revisit them more than any other?

ANH. It's comfy and doesn't really make me want to watch any others. And it's my favourite

>doesn't really make me want to watch any others
I get that. It's the most self-contained of all of them. Not that the others don't feel satisfying on their own, it's just that it doesn't rely so much on leading into, out of, other stories.

Does anyone have a link to Vader #4? the Win-O thread doesn't have it yet and when they do it will probably be on Usercloud which is broken right now.

A New Hope is the most rewatchable because it's a satisfying standalone story.

>jabba has a little kebab-kitchen behind him.
Huh. Never noticed that before.

ANH and ROTS for me. I feel like they're probably the strongest self-contained Star Wars movies, and the best to re-watch without getting tired.

TCW is also good for re-watching because there's just so much content that there is ALWAYS an arc to fit your mood.

Although when I was much younger, I also revisited AotC and ESB a lot. I guess I was in my "I love the big battles and grim lightsaber defeats" phase

> I also revisited AotC and ESB a lot
Middle chapter of a trilogy always feels the comfiest for me. If I'm in a cozy mood they're the ones I watch. The story doesn't have to begin or conclude. It just feels like lazy sundays hanging around on the Falcon or wherever, talkin' snark and falling in love, and it feels like it can go on forever.

TPM, AotC, RotS and TESB

The novelty of ANH has worn off for me and RotJ gets a little tedious even during and after Tatooine, even with the better parts of Endor. The wisened, matured Luke hits the spot just right, though.

ANH, TPM, and ROTS.

>He was literally dying when he lost to Rey, so I don't count that as a bad thing against him.

That you have to rationalise at all is telling.
He's failed as a villain, and there's no one else to pick up the slack.

>Him having a valid reason to losing instead of 'MARY SUE LOL' is rationalizing
You're shitposting user, aren't you? I'd bet Rey is a Mary Sue to you, too (She's close, but not)

People want it to be unique, but they also want to have a good villain.

>watch video about lightsabres

>tfw
It's been years, how long are people going to keep sperging out about legends?

>Tfw Infil'a's entire reason for existence upon taking the Barash Vow has been to fight

>Vader defeats him by denying him the opportunity

That is a Sith

>I'd bet Rey is a Mary Sue to you

She is, yes. She's another weak link in the ST chain. Her beating Kylo is just a double whammy of her looking sue and Kylo looking pathetic.

Yeah, you're a shitposter. Here's your last (You), don't spend it all in one place

>Moving the goalpost
Do you really want to argue for 30 posts again about why she is a Mary Sue? You'll only ignore themountains of evicence anyways.

His point was that Kylo was a weak villain, not that Rey was a sue anyways. Which is also a fact.

>Y-your a shitposter because I don't agree with you

I get that you're a cunt, but could you not act like such a cunt?

When are they releasing another trailer for "The Last Jedi"? The movie comes out in three months.

Everytime I look at the Death Star page on Wookiepedia I feel like I get PTSD.
Also on a different note a friend of mine brought up an interesting sort of fan theory about Luke. Considering that his original last name was Starkiller he thought that the name could've potentially be a nickname for Luke in certain circles of the Rebel alliance since he was the one who blew up the Death Star

Probably sometime this month like they did for Rogue One.

>Considering that his original last name was Starkiller he thought that the name could've potentially be a nickname for Luke in certain circles of the Rebel alliance since he was the one who blew up the Death Star
How would this work with Starkiller being in universe?

I wish I could go back in time and stab Max Landis before he could start the MaRey Sue bullshit.

Good idea, but they're already repurposed the name in canon so its too late I guess

Daisy calm down, we're going to watch the next movies anyways

Wouldn't have stopped the fact that she's a mary sue.

Don't argue with them, they're going to say you're the shitposter, move the goalposts, and then ignore evidence

But it would have stopped people from using that term to describe her and actually think about the positives and negatives of her character critically rather than just parroting a buzzword with no argument behind it.

Luke Skywalker is a Mary Sue

TPM, AOTC, ROTS, RO, and ANH(

They're the best of the saga so far, the most enjoyable and engaging for me.

I return to both TCW and Rebels equally

Shieldgate fag BTFO

It would work as an in-joke between veterans in the ANH-ESB timeframe. and it would have been an ironic joke on Snoke's part if they had stuck with him being Luuke

He's a fine antagonist. He's just not a totally competent badass.

It's opening the gate just like it did in the movie, what's your point?

He's not Vader level of kicking people's shit in, he's a kid trying to be as cool and as amazing as his grandfather, so he created the edgy oc Kylo Ren. I fucking love that about him. He's still got feelings, like Anakin, and he is starting to doubt everything.
>TFW there can't be a scene where he's reunited with his mom and he realizes he's wrong

Look at the blue line above the shield gate. That's the atmosphere of the planet. Shieldgate fag was arguing that it was the actual shield and since you can see that blue line after the shield gate is destroyed then it must have still been up or only punctured a hole in the shield.

>But it would have stopped people from using that term to describe her

No it wouldn't. It's a term used pretty liberally in many "geek" circles. I would certainly have described her as Mary Sue with or without Max Landis.

WELL HAVE YOU NOTICED THE SHIELDS ARE STILL UP?!

legends made up what we know about the force and the star wars universe.

so.....it's kind of hard to stopping it

I've analyzed the video "evidence" with specialists. I've had top people examining this from all fields for the past six months. I've spoken woth the secret sources. And there's only one conclusion you can come to if you're not a mind-slave zombie sheep.
The Shield Was Still Up.
We know that Palpatine has been passing funding to the Rebel Alliance to draw out disloyal planets and senators for years now. We know Geonosis, and the whole clone wars, were orchestrated false flags with crisis actors and narrative spin-control disinfo agents. So when you see these quote-unquote-Rebels making their so-called "attack run" on a planet when the frickin shield was still up, plainly for all to see, and you don't question the narrative, then you're as good as braindead.
You've got to wake up, people. Wake up!

SECRET =/= ILLEGAL

>He's a fine antagonist.

He's a faggot who got the shit beat out of him, and he's the best the bad guy have got. I shouldn't be feeling that the bad guys are the plucky underdogs.

...

Shieldgate is the best /swco/ meme

prove me wrong

only in the sense that we get to mutually laugh at that poor insane shitposter's lunatic misfortune

Yes she is a Mary Sue
>lives as a junker
>expert pilot
>expert in all things mecahnic and electronic
>suddenly out-of-the-blue manifests force powers
It took months, if not years, for Luke to pull the saber to him in Empire.
>can beat a trained sith apprentice, who trained as a Jedi padawan HIS.WHOLE.LIFE

How TFA should have ended: Rey having a sudden manifestation of force powers by pulling the saber, her combating an injured Ren, her getting a lucky strike on Ren due his overconfidence, then him force-blasting her into a fuckin tree, her getting knocked the fuck out. Then the planet breaks apart creating the rift between the two.

This shows she can be A. Special in regards to force sensitivity and B. She's still vulnerable and prone to getting her shit kicked in by someone who's been training most of his life to BE.A.WARRIOR.

I wish I could go back in time and hand your father a stack of condoms.

>good as a pilot and electronics and understands things
>After scavenging things her whole life
I'll give you the manifestation, but Luke did the same thing in ANH. And it was a moment of immense need for her to escape, I can believe the force gifted her a chance.
>can beat a trained sith apprentice, who trained as a Jedi padawan HIS.WHOLE.LIFE
As we have obviously established, he was injured do to being shot by a blaster that was established to kill people in one hit. He wasn't at his best, he was bleeding out in the snow. but of course you'll ignore this, and say it was Mary Sue powers

Knowing that Filoni is more than capable of handling SW, and aside from the fact that he has his hands full with animation, why do you think Lucasfilm hasn't given him any live action responsibilities?
