I always thought the multiple ending thing was a neat gimmick. Depending on what theater you went to see it in at what time, you would get a different ending; of course when it got a home release they just put all the endings together. I've always wondered if a movie would be as ambitious as this to have multiple endings shown in the theatrical release.

Originally they wanted to have an ending for each character, but it would have made the movie too long.

run away to the car but the dog was in the back seat and start mauling him But it was removed due its violence

They also changed ending 2 a bit. Originally the Chief shot Mrs Peacock dead, then when everyone came out, he shot her body again, but they cut that bit out and dubbed her screaming that she's a Senator's wife, for the same reason.
