Soft spot for cyberpunk

>soft spot for cyberpunk
>enjoyed 2049
>hear about altered carbon

haven't read the book, is the show good? I'm honestly a little afraid of the aesthetic getting played out and hackneyed

Cheesy plot and over- acting. Not bad though.

its decent
dont expect a masterpiece and you wont be disappointed

It’s starting to burn out for me. Mute’s kinda the last gasp before it starts to get really annoying unless something breaks away from the whole “Blade Runner Lite” shtick.

Anyway I watched the first ep of Altered Carbon and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s a great cyberpunk show, but even more than that it’s a great sci-fi show. All this shit about consciousness being uploaded into stacks, future drugs, AI Brothel Hotels, switching between multiple different languages in the middle of sentences, it’s just the neatest shit. The action’s pretty fun and I dig the characters (save for that bitch Ortega).

Can’t wait to watch the rest.

7.5/10
If you have a soft spot for cyberpunk you will be entertained. Be prepared for a slower ep. 7-9 though. by ep. 10 end it will be comfy enough to approve.

Netflix maxed out spending on art design and compromised on casting and screenwriting. It's visually spectacular (more so than BR2049) but you'll have to suffer cringeworthy dialogue uttered by 2D characters (not the qt kind either).

it gets worse after ep6 but I liked the whole show
the gutterspeak was really good they even call him takeshi-san a few times
also bancrofts character was really good and probably the nicest person in the show apart from poe

Something about the dialogue seems off, maybe the delivery, sound design? Or is it writing?

Can't quite put my finger on it. Anybody got the same?

Stopped watching after three episodes. Unbearably cringy, completely dogshit world building, somewhat meh cg and 'artificial' violence.

nice digits, and thanks for this analysis, I'll pass it

Holy shit is that a literal virgin walk?

>soyberpunk
no

>It's visually spectacular (more so than BR2049)

Praise Kek and praise Duchan Lymans pan racial feet

At least post the full one my guy

theres really only one reason to watch the show

it looks pretty but that's about it

>haven't read the book, is the show good?
much better than BR´49

its actually like a love letter to Gibson and his Neuromancer.

its going to be terrible and you know it

this will be liquid dog shit. everything about it is utterly disgusting, from the cgi, to the casting to the clusterfuck plot to pg-13, to the feces director. everything. it will be yet another modern capeshit cgi suckfest for the Marvel/DC shit eaters.
t. huge Alita fan who has been reading the manga since early 90s

I don't see how Sup Forums hasn't made this their show yet. If BR2049 did it for them, this is 10 hours of kino I would argue better. Netflix has figured out the kino formula and is cranking out classics like they are candy. Enjoy guys 10/10.
