>Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to play the Clown Prince of Crime in Warner Bros. and Todd Phillips’ untitled Joker origin movie.
>While studio negotiations are not yet underway, Phillips has made it clear that Phoenix is the top choice to star and sources now tell Variety that, after thinking it over, Phoenix has agreed to the role. WB had no comment.
It would be funny if he just played Freddie Quell again but in clown makeup this time.
Josiah Reed
>Todd Phillips lol what? sounds great, im watching regardless now.
Caleb Green
He's a jew
Samuel Phillips
While I hoped he'd never stoop so low as to do capeshit, this could be interesting.
Wish he was in Bladerunner 2049 as Wallace
Bentley Clark
So Jared Letto and Affleck are gone?
Zachary Stewart
this can't be happening, it must be a joke
Elijah Stewart
>Michelle Williams in Venom >Phoenix in DCEU What's next? Meryl Streep in Captain Marvel sequel?
Logan Ward
>inb4 Viper Room
Brody Campbell
pretty much one of the few that can surpass Ledger desu
Jeremiah Nguyen
Wow, apparently no one is above capeshit. Might as well get Daniel Day Lewis to play Mr. Fantastic.
Liam Brown
but what about Leto?
Easton Clark
there's nothing phoenix can't do. we need more of him goddammit
Joshua Price
>Todd Phillips
Is this April's Fools, right?
Carter Garcia
>Origin movie after origin movie
Jose Hill
Yeah that's weird, I thought they'd give Leto another go.
Samuel Cooper
Great, another method-acting nutjob
Eli Taylor
What even is this timeline, when will this end?
Cameron Thompson
For fuck's sake, why can't capeshit just die already?
Jacob Moore
>mfw when in five years the only movies you'll be able to see in a cinema will be capeshit
Isaac Nelson
Strange decision to make a standalone when Joker is in another, unrelated, franchise released around the same time. Different universes, fine, but it's a weird sell to audiences.
Mason Morgan
>only alternatives will be netflix originals
Gavin Myers
He'll never be as good as River.
Lucas James
Great, another wave of edgy fags who wanna suck Joker's dick is on the way.
Noah Reed
so, this means that Leto and Affleck are gone after the Flashpoint reboot.
Adrian Williams
SHUT THE FUCK UP
Jacob Mitchell
...
Christian Wright
This is some kind of retarded standalone film not connected to the rest. Batman is not even going to be in it. Leto and Affleck are both in Suicide Squad 2, and possibly Flashpoint. The DCCU is falling apart though quite frankly, and it is rumored that neither are in the upcoming standalone Batman film either.
Henry Moore
>Netflix originals based on more capeshit or shitty sci-fi books
Adam Perez
Reminder that Netflix Originals are just the shows that no-one else wanted for whatever reason. Stranger Things is the only successful Netflix Original to be actually produced BY Netflix, too.
Levi Reyes
It's tried and true.
Jaxon Garcia
The fuck is re they even doing at this point? Just let DCEU die and move onto something not capeshit.
Ethan Phillips
It's the push capeshit needs. WB could've used that mustache CGI movie to film Gotham by Gaslight in live action. Shared universe bullshit killed capeshit.
Dominic Rivera
Boring. He should have played Lex Luthor.
Asher Watson
>Meryl Streep I find funny that this the closes thing to a good actor the female genre has. They had to pretend this retarded women is talented for decades. Can you imagine giving her Oscar after Oscar to a hack only because thats the best female genre can offer?
Austin Cook
>the female genre
Ian Bennett
There's only one hope of killing capeshit.
Hudson Anderson
I blame Snyder and anyone who trusted him
Angel Hughes
Fast and Furious and Jumanji sequels are not better.
Luis Turner
fuck we need to make this happen
Matthew Baker
Imagine a litty-only streaming service
Xavier Stewart
kys
Levi Wood
Only if its made by Fox
Andrew Harris
He kinda looks like Armond White.
Zachary Butler
>Warner invests huge money into New Line >In order to produce a new and great Nightmare On Elm Street reboot/sequel >It ends up being good like the new IT and making more than Justice League at the box office.
Liam Martin
I don't think thath DCCU is falling apart. Sure these standalone movies can be weird, but I think is great way to see some other stuff in capeshit genre.
But it's gonna be soft reboot in Flashpoint. After that it's like new plate and old stuff is not a think or something. Don't know about the Batman though. If the trilogy is standalone and not part of the universe then you are right and DCCU is a mess and maybe even done. They need Batman in it. Affleck is out after Flashpoint. So is there gonna be third Batman? Afflec, the one in the trilogy and one after Affleck?
Jayden Bennett
At least Marvel have had the same cast for their entire universe. Why are DC such fuck-ups?
