Just watched Forbidden Planet and really liked it. Are there any other good old sci-fi movies you would recommend?

The Time Machine is pretty good

Planet of the Apes. The Charlton Heston one

Forbidden Planet has some intersting concepts buts it feels really dated and sexist.

It was a different time

the day the earth stood still

...

First Spaceship On Venus.
Planeta Bur
(never seen the original but the first of the 2 Corman cuts was pretty good)
The First Men In The Moon
Destination Moon
When Worlds Collide
Five Million Years To Earth

>sexist
>being a complaint

That movie feels like a good episode of classic Star Trek, but 20 years early.

Planet of the Vampires

Saw this film broadcast on channel 5 KTLA Family film Festival.
It got a Criterion release so you know it's good.

The Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) - great effects, lots of cheese. Overall a really fun and comfy movie.

...

The original Day the Earth Stood Still. The remake was an unintentional comedy.

...

Logan's Run is pure 70s comfy Sci-Fi kino.

>ywn try Box's plankton, sea greens and protein from the sea

Krull is on my 'to watch' list. Planet of the apes is pretty good. Outworld and the 'hippies in space' one, forgot the name.
