What does any of this have to do with Venom?

I watched the teaser and it didn't look like it had anything to do with the character.

Is it because there's an alien symbiote? Is that it?

I don't mind them teasing with the suit. But I think they should give a solid 20 minutes or so at the end.

How else do you make a mature super hero movie?
By not showing the costume or hero. Make it an infection / suspense movie.
