I dont understand how they portrayed Kovacs as so tough up until it goes to the past and he's soppy as fuck. And the way his sister just turns up and her motives were garbage. Completely ruined the murder investigation storyline too. I'm pissed.

I agree that the sister's motives were stupid. No one turns that evil that fast for literally no reason. They tried to make you hate her by making her character do terrible things, but you had no real sense of why she was doing them so it seemed like they were just for shock value.

The acting, cinematography and story aren't 10% as good as Blade Runner 2049. Why would I waste my time watching this filth?

They look better in Altered Carbon, as whole scenes and set pieces are scripted to showboat the actresses feetsies, plus post processing to remove any veins. I feel bad for roasties when it comes to their feet. It's always so sad to see an actress with legendary feet age out and become a mere set of generic "milf feet"

This show deals with some pretty sickening body horror stuff. The torture scene reminds me of Mai-Chan's Daily Life, truly fucked up and horrifying implications. The concept of transcending the body to achieve immortality, we're trying to figure that shit out right now. Really gets you to think about the ''conscious'', and what it means to have a soul, or how to even quantify it. I just finished the torture episode, I'm pretty upset to see in this thread that it's not consistent with the quality.

The whole time I'm watching it and thinking there's no fucking way this could have been made under any production company but Netflix; the only ones willing to take a chance. Fucking BladeRunner neo-cyberpunk, every scene just makes you feel filthy, what insane set design. I hate Ortega, her multiple plastic surgeries and massive head/tiny body are just so jarring. I dunno, I'm going to finish it and I hope the episodes to come aren't as bad as you guys are saying, because this is incredibly unique.

This show is retardedly edgy. You'd think it would be on HBO.

I kind of liked the murder plot line. From the beginning everyone said he killed himself and there was nothing to see. And in the end it was true but by investigating his murder it opened up the other murders and eventually got them all arrested.
