All Hail King Julien

How did this end up the best thing to come out of the Madagascar franchise?

Cause it had the mystery inc guy.
Can you imagine if they had let him go story heavy from the beginning?

Because there's not really a lot you can do with the original premise (washed out comedians voicing funny zoo animals)

Well, you can always focus on secondary characters. Penguin Special Ops worked really good, you could always make a cartoon based on the humans trying to survive in Africa from the second movie, that animal catcher or that circus inthe third movie etc.

Creative freedom, less censorship compared to network TV, a decent budget, and writing a more likable version of the protagonist.

He's an asshole that actually gives a shit.

It worked.

It's alright. I liked Penguins of Madagascar (TV) because of the contrast between the lemurs and the penguins.

You mean besides Gloria's ass?

Ya penguins of madagascar was pretty good, I wish the otter was in it more

It might've been fun as a Game of Thrones satire, but I'm not sure if the joke would've held up.

Exiled was still a hell of a lot of fun.

Maybe it's the quirky characters

...

I ship Julien and Rob

Why is he so perfect?

Great personality, interesting species, openly gay but not a token.

Is it bestiality for a civet cat to love a cockroach?

Love is love, and love between two males is the purest love of all.

Speaking of gay, when will Ted divorce Dorothy?

>Named Clover
>is Red
>gets addicted to a chocolate snack and gets really fat

Was it intentional?

>That feel when they could have had the perfect ship in Julien/Clover
>Goes Sage/Clover instead
It was almost perfect.

Fat fetishism is disgusting

I'm not upset, though. It made sense for Clover/Sage to fail as a couple initially because they had shallow differences between each other, but having them bond in Exiled made it feel earned.

It also gives Clover an excuse to be absent when Madagascar takes place.

It does seem like an earned ship.
They draw the line from "they don't work together because they're opposite extremes" to "they don't work individually at all because they're too extreme" to "they complete each other" quite well.

>Karl could swallow his boyfriend whole if he wanted to.
>Julien's girlfriend could swallow him whole if she wanted to
Hey, look at that, they really are exact opposites!

Clover and Sage doing that felt like some Jojo-tier shit. Loved it.

>Karl could swallow his boyfriend whole if he wanted to.

>homosexual civet/insect mouthplay

That's hot

I wish he had gotten Udo Kier a role in the show. He got him for Professor Pericles in SD and later as Mr. Toad in Beware the Batman.
