That's something people have missed; when Thanos takes the space stone, Loki could still have the Tesseract.

Vision is likely to physically die...but his consciousness could well survive within the stone, and that would enable his consciousness to be anywhere, and to help the Avengers by concealing information from Thanos. Love is for souls, not bodies, after all.

You realize Infinity War is an actual storyline in the comics right? If they want to make an actual spectacle have Thanos snap his fingers, destroy half the universe, then face The Living Tribunal for disordering the cosmos. Of course Disney will probably drop the entire original story because there aren't enough moments for clever one liners from the 20 main characters.
