Probably not, no. I say this based on the fact that the main aspect reviews praise Black Panther for are for adhering to the critics' political believes. They praise it for being "empowering black people" over and over and over again, more so than the actual qualities of the movie (which reviews usually gloss over). On its own merits, I don't think the movie is that great. It's probably the standard Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. I don't know, and I won't know since I won't be going to see this one.

The annoying part is that a lot of white people backing this think they're doing it because they're pro-minority. They hate on other whites for not backing mega-corp shit because that makes them "racist". They sincerely believe this.

I'm dark-skinned myself. It's amusing and frustrating to see all of this white guilt. It fucks everything up. I'd honestly rather deal with actual racists than people so hapless and nervous they think that supporting overt propaganda is helping anything. All they're doing is falling for propaganda. That applies to all the minorities who back this shit too. I'd give kids a pass because they're kids and they don't understand. I wouldn't have at that age either. But I see honest to god "adults" supporting billion dollar companies pushing propaganda because of "social awareness". They actually think these companies are speaking for them. This total lack of awareness is horrific when you think about it. I know the average person is pretty susceptible to social engineering but it's times like these where it really hits you just how bad it all is.

Yeah, honestly it's pretty decent for a marvel movie, I'd put it right up there with the better ones. It has some weird pacing here and there and some strangly bad CGI in the last act, but I would recommend to anybody. That being said even the best super hero movie is still just some popcorn bullshit, so does it deserve a 99%? No, it's like a very very solid 75

RT rating is not the same as its 1-10 rating. A movie can have a 6/10 rating overall but a 100% from RT. It's a rating of if it's watchable or not for the most part, and a 100% just means that critics unanimously think it's watachable.

I see this film as like the black american version of Braveheart, it is a large company essentially selling idealised nationalism to a section of society.

I refuse to watch it and take the seat from an inner city youth who might need it.

Now that it's gotten a couple bad reviews I actually don't hate it as much.

Thus making the entire plot of the movie fucking pointless - if the villain had won the same result would happen.

It effectively is Iron Man 2 levels of redundant with nothing long lasting other that setting up M'Baku to fight alongside Black Panther in an unstable alliance to set-up a sequel.

CGI and action varies - most the shots of Wakanda look alright but the sky looks odd and any long-distance shot is sketchy. The final battle really drops the ball on CGI and almost constantly flicks between the characters having the helmets off to spout exposition or generic hero/villain dialogue.

Design of the cities is a mash of everything ranging from technologically superior designs to fucking huts on skyscrapers and a market stall that looks like it's filled with plague and diseases
