Not him, but life back then was more organic, less industrialized. Childhood, adolescence and even beyond that wasn't as drama-filled and negative as its today. The 70's and 80's have some magic in it but they are too rustic.
The 90's is in the perfect spot between old and modern, hard but natural vs easy but plastic. Maybe I am being biased but thats how I feel.
