ITT: Tropes You Wish Happened

Actually, this happens often in games

>Main villain helps heroes stop supervillain (ex-hero) to further their own goals

>Villain song is an upbeat, peppy gospel number

>MC actually knows "THAT!?"

>the villain care about his faceless troopers.
>if a faceless trooper fails the villain punish him not kill him.

...pass. Example?

They did that in Reboot.

Despicable Me. :^)

Also Scorpio

Hmm... God fucking damn it.

>The villain wins, there is no 11th ass-pull
>Just a straight up bad end.

>someone gets caught in an out-of-context scene and wants to explain
>the other person actually listens and everything clears itself up nicely

>Transformation episode
>Character gets turned back at the end, but there's a hint they may have physical and/or psychological leftovers from the transformation
>There's occasionally hints and references to this for the rest of the series

>It was actually a foul trick and it indeed was what it looked like

>boys vs girls episode
>boys beat the shit out of girls for suggesting such stupid idea

That was pretty much the main villain in Negima's whole deal. When he was down, he'd go on long, flowery rants about how whoever killed him would take up his title as the mage of the beginning. Then the hero nuked him mid-sentence just to shut him up.

It turned out his power was to body hop into anyone who killed him.

That was the plot of a Denzel Washington movie called Fallen.

The first season of Lexx. Mantrid was a fairly competent villain. Managed to destroy an entire universe.

Hype

Evolution?

What?

That was surprisingly wholesome for such a badass-looking guy.

>Villain sings a villain song while fighting the hero and kicking their ass.
>Later, the hero sings a reprise while kicking the villain's ass.

>The villain possesses the hero

>the hero possesses the villain

>This shit in Fable Lost Chapters

I want my hats back, Jack.

just to see the shitstorm
>classic 4 characters, 2 boys 2 girls
>all sorts of ship teasing
>characters end up in gay with the other
some doodles birthed this idea which birthed a story I got in mind. 'course, it'd be much more than that.

>characters spend so much time together they start rubbing off on each other

>double-meaning stories and songs/darker implications left ambiguous

>series dabbles in every song genre

>things people do but afraid to show because accusations
like parents smacking their kids behind playfully or kissing their kid on the mouth.
maybe there's a character that never wears their bra properly, and a strap always hangs down. maybe their ocd friend would just reach in and fixes it often in the middle of a conversation and no one bats an eye. or maybe friends sleep cuddling often.

>more actually horrifying designs, not just to the character, but to the veiwer.

it's the little things

>two characters get a ton of ship teasing
>they lock eyes with each other and lean closer
>suddenly POUND IT! YEAH!! YOU'RE MY BEST BRO!!!

that'd be just as wonderful

>Sup Forums hates girls over an episode from a cartoon show

Pure, unadulterated autismo

>Villain has good goals, but the wrong ways of going about them
>After they're defeated, one of the heroes decides to try to accomplish said goals the right way

most likely written by a man at that as well, as most writers are male. now that I think about it

>The hero and the villain team up to set things straight the right way

I love sympathetic villains, almost as much as I love cartoonishly evil but ineffective villains.

This trope definitely needs more love.

>more actually horrifying designs, not just to the character, but to the veiwer.
Explain, please.

>An inverse of the straight woman's gay best friend trope
>The straight dude's lesbian buddy

I dream of having a cute, butch lady-bro to talk about women with over a beer. I want to see more of this in fiction but I need the guidance of IRL lesbro to help me figure out how to make this kind of relationship appealing to both parties.

>another boys vs. girls episode
>boys win

I would be aghast if I saw this happen. Which is a little sad, honestly.

>Tumblr screeches heard for miles

Isn't this basically Diablo I ending?

In Dragonball Super Videl actually does this when a slut kisses Gohan on a rooftop in the middle of the night without his consent.

A rich and jealous actor who hates his guts catches it on film as blackmail and shows it to Videl in her own home. She assumes the footage was out of context without explanation purely because she trusts Gohan and knows his character well enough that he wouldn't cheat on her.

Happened in South Park

>Boy vs girls episode
>they gender swap and discover that both sides suck

Sort of what happened with the Phantom Rider

>Figure in bulky armour takes helmet off
>Is revealed to be a man
>One of the characters asks "Is it weird that I thought he'd be a girl?"

>muscle-kink guy
>"damn, I was hoping for a girl"

>hero is about kill villain
>some douche: "Don't do it! You'll be no better than them!"
>hero kills villain anyway

So basically the ending of the Deadpool movie.

I also liked Wade going "Eh, I've got, like, 3 or more chances at this, so killing this guy didn't make that much of a difference."

>The villain possesses the hero

> villian beats main hero down
> hero begins to stand back up, talking about friendship and shit
> villian pulls out a gun and just ices the hero

I wish a nigga would

how about just having the boys win easily in a survival situation?

>character tries to stop another character mid powerup/monologue
>other character shrugs off attack and keeps on going anyways

>Scientist explains the details behind a certain plot point and, of course, talks like a scientist
>Everybody gets it and nobody's like "In English?"
>Because he's in a room full of scientists
>This is everyday conversation for them
>Why would anyone do that

>>Hero ends up in the hospital
>>Villian comes to visit them

>>Boss villian actually sits down and talks with subordinates. Lackey has therapy sessions for boss villian.

>>Villian has morals. Calls out psycho villians if they get too crazy.

>>The main character isnt the strongest in their party.

>>The strongest character does whatever they want and give no fucks about saving the world or destroying it. Would rather chill at the beach

>>Villian holds funerals for beloved comrades

>>Villian hears someone talking shit about hero. Villian starts beating down on the shit talker.

>>Hero and Villians are both beaten, bruised, and decide to say "Fuck it", shake hands, go eat ice cream and hang out for the rest of the episode.

>>Hero wants to fuck the villian

I don't know if this has ever happened

It's an open secret that the villain wants to fuck the hero.

This sort of sounds like Yuki Ni Saku Hana.

>Girl with cartoonishly long hair sometimes uses it as a hammerspace compartment

Best girl? Best girl.

>Comedic henchmen is actually a huge threat and finally demonstrates so by BTFOing the main villain he worked for

I feel like I've seen this at least couple times before, but honestly maybe it's because I used to go to a small private school and sometimes the gym teacher would be an asshole and do a boys vs girls gym thing despite knowing that there were more able bodied boys (and more boys in the class in general) versus girls. Things only became more even when more girls joined the class (and by more girls I mean like two).

One day we'll get a villain protagonist who'll pull that trigger.

>Villian hears someone talking shit about hero. Villian starts beating down on the shit talker.
This one is really good. All of these would make an amazing series but this one is the best.

>The strongest character does whatever they want and give no fucks about saving the world or destroying it. Would rather chill at the beach.

That was the plot of Major Bummer. A short but fun series from DC about 20 years ago.

Also gave us pick related

>Chatterbox character is instructed to keep a surprise party a secret
>Birthday boy/girl learns about the party from chatterbox
>Chatterbox knocks birthday person out and holds him/her hostage to avoid ruining the surprise

A protagonist that will smile before he blows his own brains out in the final showdown with the antagonist

This.

>Villain is a thief or something minor like that
>Accidentally puts innocent lives in danger
>Saves them because he's a dick, but he's not evil
The only example I can think of is Mr. Freeze in his second appearance in BTAS.

>Bodyswap episode
>characters are stuck in each others bodies because there isn't a way to reverse the process

I think the reverse for the first point happened in one of Flash's comics. His relationship with the rogues is fucking amazing.

>both sides cheat by hiring a bunch of boys/girls to dress as girls/boys
>nobody knows how to agree who wins

>attractive female can't get laid to save her life
>not even a date
>pretty much kissless perms-virgin

The only time this has ever happened is The Awesomes on Hulu. But funny as hell.

>villain sends flowers for hospital and presents for holidays

Futurama almost did that, but the boys liked being girls

Exactly what I was thinking. Excellent choice, user.

She is like 4th out of five in the best DBZ grill

Wrong, Vegeta is best girl overall

that sounds awesome but Sup Forums would probably think it's a peach ep or a gender identity ep

*preach

Once Villain turned into a good parent trope is one of the best shit around, Vegeta canonically spoils rotten Bra

>Sequel has different protagonist
>He runs into the first one just as their story ends

Bonus points if it's mere seconds after.

My favorite trope is kind of that, it's when the character is a thief or a con but he gets stuck in a with a job/con where he's forced to act good or do something good, and then things get out of hand and he finds himself doing the good just because it's good regardless of profit.

Bonus points if it's a conman who finds himself stuck playing a hero because he got sucked into his own act, but it's only still an act in his head.

>Scientist explains the details behind a certain plot point and, of course, talks like a scientist
>somebody in the back says 'in English? '
>small pause
>everyone starts laughing
>the room is full of scientists and this is their favorite joke

Yeah that's alright.

Attack on Titan?

Gru is not the villain in Despicable Me. He is the protagonist.

>The hero has the villain cornered and at his mercy
>The villain says "You kill me, you'll be just like me"
>The hero kills the villain
>Hero's friend says "wow, you are just like him"

>Boy vs girls episode
>A genderless alien species appears out of nowhere, wins then leaves never to be seen again

The Red Ribbon Army arc in the original Dragonball ended somewhat like that. Staff Officer Black, who was Commander Red's #2 but basically just an assistant, found out that Red's wish on the Dragonballs would have been to become taller.

Black is furious that his boss would waste his soldiers' lives over something so stupid instead of fighting for world domination, so he puts a bullet in Red's head. He ends up being the real final villain of the arc and ends up in a mech to fight Goku.

Tsundere-for-his-own-wife-&-family Vegeta is best Vegeta. It's definitely my favorite aspect of his character.

I never saw that so I wouldn't know.

Best example of the second one I can think of is Going Postal from the Discworld series.

Loid in Space?

Aladdin did the reverse of this

...

supervillain does petty crimes on top of world ending scemes. Or is just a dick in his day to day life. Like only paying in change or waiting until a store is near closing and has a big order. Or steals only ones and fives

Marco and the Monster Arm, although there's only been one hint about it.

>You'll never get rid of me! I'm part of you now! You can treat the symptoms, but you'll never cure the virus!

Oddworld.

Kefka

The hero also possesses the (kinda) villain for a brief moment in Star vs.

>villian beats main hero down
>hero begins to stand back up, talking about friendship and shit
>i was wrong about you. you're not greedy, you're batshit insaaaaaaaane

Source on this? Google gives me nothing.
