In his 2001 Miramax film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (executive producer: Harvey weinstein) actor, writer and director Kevin Smith, perhaps better known as his own character Silent Bob, has Chris Rock's character Chaka Luther King say the following:
>I film the motherfucker, right? Then I yell "cut", then I run the fuck outta here, go to my trailer cause I got more white girls in there than the first lifeboat on the titanic and they all want a part in my movie and I've got just the part for them.
Quite explicitly making light/fun of the exchange of physical intimacy for (possible) movie roles.
In response to the many abuse allegations against Harvey Weinstein, Smith came out with an emotional response:
>With tears in his eyes, he told his Hollywood Babble-On podcast audience: 'My entire career is tied up with the man. Everything I did in the beginning has his name on it. And I spent many years lionising him, telling stories. Whenever I tell the Clerks story, there's, you know, and then we got bought by Miramax.
>'I'm not a victim in this. This is not about me at all. We know who the victims are. But my sh*t is tied up with this man…
>'I just wanted to make some f*cking movies, that's it. That's why I came, that's why I made Clerks. And no f*cking movie is worth all this. Like, my entire career, f*ck it, take it. It's wrapped up in something really f*cking horrible.'
Seems like quite the overreaction doesn't it?
>Like my entire carreer, fuck it, take it
Unless you happen to remember this one line from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, many years ago. So how much did Kevin Smith really know about Harvey Weinstein and his supposed ways and why has no one in the media asked him about this? How did he get away with it Sup Forums?
