Saw it months ago when it came out. Pure kino. The War (2007) is also fantastic.
I'll check it out once 'It ain't me' stops playing
Watched it when it aired on BBC4 in the autumn. Great series. Got the DVD set for Christmas.
Downloaded his Civil War series as well so once I finish that I'll give 'Nam another watch.
We could do with a new Vietnam War movie to counter this grim historical reality. Picturing the brave american heroes trying to save the poor vietnamese farmers from the clutches of the evil commies.
>tfw it aint me doesnt even play one time in the entire 18 hour documentary
>tfw john musgrave
SELLING ARVN RIFLES
NEVER BEEN FIRED AND ONLY DROPPED ONCE
its called "Fortunate Son" moron
The Americans could have just leveled NV if they wanted to. The truth of the matter was the war was unwinnable the way it was being fought.
most tired military joke ever
...
Fun fact: the ONLY movie released during the Vietnam War with directly relating material to it, because the conflict was so controversial in the states.
Flopped horribly.
The band is the Fortunate Sons retard
One thing that gets me about the Vietnam War is Eddie Adams photo of Colonel Luan executing a VC member in the street. All the photo shows you is him being shot, not that the reason he was shot was because he was a member of a VC death squad who had already killed no less than 8 national policemen and their families, and had had caught him redhanded in the middle of the mass grave burying both the 8 policemen and the 33 members of their families, women and children.
The band is *Creedence Clearwater Revival retard
...no? CCR stands for Central California Records. It was the record company. Are you delusional?
this is for manny!
are you saying it wasn't taken out of context intentionally and used as antiwar propaganda?
True, but MASH was a huge hit in 1970 and everyone knew "Korea" was really Vietnam.
That's exactly what happened. Eddie Adams has even in his own words called Colonel Luan, "A hero", and said, "I would have done the same thing if I was in his position." He even went and apologized to Luan for taking the photo since it ruined his career and all Luan said was, "You were just doing your job the same way I was."
