Want to write a movie script, but too dumb to think of a good concept

>want to write a movie script, but too dumb to think of a good concept

just make the cast black.

Well jot down some ideas you have, maybe you’ll find some common themes

There's no such thing as a "good concept"
you could make a movie anything, what matters is the quality of writing
Some concepts are more interesting than others, but I could paraphrase the plot to a few great movies and make shitty movies sound way more interesting

What about angry teenagers that dress like frogs but then decide to live like frogs forever.

>have great movie ideas
>they get made into real movies every 5 years

Really starting to piss me off desu

>tfw have a really great concept for a film or book based on my own experience but too terrible a writer

I wish I could just give my idea to someone who knows what they're doing

Autism? It's usually the other way around dude.

Then I guess that means it's not autism, bonehead.

A Man and his heist team are able to enter another person's dreams at will and manipulate their subconscious using new technology. To regain custody of his kids, he must do one last job.

-Inception

Earth is dying, and humanity has one last hope, it's up to Matthew Mcconaughey and Co to reach the stars to find a new home for humanity.

-Interstellar

Set on the beaches of Dunkirk of World War II, the intense evacuation of the Allied troops as they fight for their lives against the German threat.

-Dunkirk

It ain't difficult.

Make a movie where you go back in time to meet your mom and you turn her into a footslut.

got to r/writingprompts to see what not to do.

Just add the Cloverfield monster at the end.

>several good concepts, but too autistic and inexperienced at life to develop it into a plausible series of situations and dialogue that won't sound forced and pedestrian

Just write anything. It doesn't matter if what you write is shit, as long as you produce something you can review. Remember the three Rs:
>Rough
>Revise
>Refine

With time and effort your work will improve in quality.

>thinking movies need good dialogue to be successful
have you watched any nolan films? do you think bane and cia would be a worthy meme if that whole scene weren't so painfully awkward?

>have the perfect idea for a movie script that can draw in $$$
>have no connections to sell it with, don't have any money to hire a lawyer to make sure nobody steals my OC donut steel idea
All I can say is war hero who fought so hard that he defied medical science. I just assume there's a lot of money that can be made appealing to the "its a movie about a brown guy" and "fuck yeah america"/"fuck yeah war" demographics

also it's actually a true story, im just surprised nobody's tried making a movie about this guy's actions in combat yet

hell, even good concepts are worthless in the hands of bad writers. Take the recent movie Life for example.

>want to write a movie script
>remember how many movies are written and directed by the same guy
>remember how many movies are adaptations
>remember that there are literally hundreds of scripts people love floating around Hollywood that can't get made
>remember that mine will probably end up being garbage

Why even bother?

let's get the ball rolling on an idea. I'll start with a setting, everyone else can add on to it.

>sci-fi
>cyberpunk style colony

>monkey sidekick

>character fucks the monkey and catches space aids

Has anyone considered writing a small budget script to potentially film with friends? How'd that turn out?

>can't afford treatment, so does work for some shady guys

>lying to yourself

>people start getting superpowers
>our protag is a very attractive but bitchy highschool bully(think meangirls)
>Her superpower is being invisible...but she cant turn it off, also its only her body thats invisible not her clothes or anything

What sets apart good and bad writing?
