Comparison time...
Madman (1982) vs The Mutilator (1985)

> Better killer?
Big Ed (mutilator), Marz felt very generic to me, Ed seemed like the slasher personification of the drunken dad you tried to avoid.
> Better kills overall?
Mutilator
> Better cast overall?
Madman
> Best final girl?
Madman, had Gaylen Ross from the original Dawn of the Dead & she gets naked. Main female from Mutilator is a cunt.
> Best setting?
Equal
> Best use of the setting?
Madman
> Best score?
Mutilator
> Best nudity?
Mutilator
> Best direction?
Madman

>> Your horror waifu/harem?

I watched Lesson of Evil. Was decent MadMike fluff. Wouldn't want to own it though.

>> Horror related wishlist?
A new slasher movie with a samurai armor wearing killer. Have a dead serious Grudge like tone to it.
Pic related from Bloodbeat (1982?) looked great but the film was crap.

>> Horror related wishlist?
- Judy Greer gets naked in the new Halloween.
- Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare all get new comics or novels regardless of their movie status.
- The Predator is not notably comedic like the rumors have said.

>What have you watched recently?
Pic related. It was....okay? I dont know why, but I usually assume with independent horror movies that they will take a common horror scenario, and do something a little different and interesting with it. This...sort of does, but at the same time doesnt really. Looks nice and has some good atmosphere though.
Kiernan Shipka is a qt in a distant autist way, and I wont lie, I was kind of hoping for satanic lesbian rape

> What have you watched recently? How was it?
"The Ritual" (2017) - rather mediocre. I really liked the first 30 minutes or so, but then it started disappointing me. 6/10

really? i was thinking about watching it tonight

Not the person you're responding to but I would say it's definitely worth a watch. The premise is quite basic but the characters are relatively rational and intelligent, and it has a pretty unique creature design.

Maybe I am face blind but Emma and Lucy look really similiar, right?

I feel the same way about it.
As soon as they arrived in the village it fall apart, the mummies were pretty cool though. Also very lovecraftian movie

I was convinced while watching the movie that the black haired girl was Emma. And got really confused when Emma then showed up as the other character.

So I was not the only one, if this was intentional?

>Recently:
The Ritual. It's on Netflix, was surprised how much I like it. It's by no means ground breaking, but as horror shows go, it's good. Worth a watch

The Thing
Howling 5
Alien

garbage

>aussies do cronenberg
Decent body horror 6/10

Name 52 things wrong with liking a bad movie.

What a mess this one was.
Cannot recommend it

I re-watched all the Saw movies and watched the ones I hadn't seen yet (most of them). Then did the same with all the Final Destination movies, then all the Scream movies. I don't know, I've been in the mood for garbage.

Would somebody please recommend me any horror tv series that are actually spooky?

>Howling 5
Really? That is the one in the castle right?
>>American Werewolf in London
>garbage
You mean the paris remake right?
London is universally agreed to be among the best horror movies ever made.

>Imogene Poots
shit taste

Who shit in this dour mother fucker's cheerios?

I don't think there is a single consistent horror series. Best you will find are certain episodes from some shows that achieve a feeling of horror. There's a number of X-Files episodes like that (2Shy, The Host, etc.). There are also anthology shows like Masters of Horror, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, The Outer Limits.

Yep, that's the castle one. It's hot trash, but I love it. I honestly prefer a dumb horror movie over one that takes itself too seriously.

For example, The Descent. It was damn near a perfect movie, but it added that STUPID cheating subplot and it almost ruins the whole fucking movie.

I gotta re-watch Madman. I watched it years ago and remember it being pretty dull.

>and remember it being pretty dull.
Felt the same way when I first watched it.
But honestly it's pretty damn stylish with some really good use of lighting and shadow.

The Exorcist TV show. I honestly can't believe how good it ended up being.

Nice. I might just pick up the blu-ray, I remember the copy I had back in the day being super dark and having trouble making things out.

I watched Gerald's Game and it was genuinely difficult to watch. I hate horror where they drag out scenes ad nauseum and the subject matter (rape, pedo, gore was grim enough without King warping it). Stephen King is a fucked up weird looking guy.

Finally got round to watching this.

Thought it was complete fucking garbage, just uncomfortable viewing with no fucking point.

It wouldn't have been that bad if the idea that it wasn't the mother was more vague but it's pretty obvious it's her so the kid is just fucking psycho. The Red cross scene was daft filler and the entire last half hour was boring, uncomfortable torture porn with no real point. I've seen tonnes of people bash the "twist" for being obvious, but it was so obvious that I truly think it was intended to be spotted.

edgelords never make good movies

>high-class horror
I can already tell this movie will be similar to Martyrs, Inside, and others torture porn masquerading with a light coating of artiness.

it felt like it had so many directors with diffrent plans

piece of trash, reminded me of Funny Games which was also trash

>Your horror waifu/harem?
As if it would be anybody else.

Is there something about the directors I should know about??

Yeah, going into it, I had the impression it was more slow-burning, supernatural thing, and it kinda gave that impression during the first 30 minutes. But it just completely dissolves into straight torture porn in the last 30 minutes, with just shite in the middle. I dislike Martyrs for similar reasons, but there was at least some kind of reasoning behind the violence, even though I thought it was pretty bullshit and it pisses me off when people try to act like it deals with the big questions, whereas in this there's literally no reasoning behind it whatsoever.

Kid's brother dies, kid goes crazy, mum's kinda going crazy too with stress and surgery, son tortures mum, everyone dies[

True, it's just the rave reviews it gets. Ebert's site gave it a 4/4, it's in the 90's% on RT etc.

>> Your horror waifu/harem?
sadako and kayako

kill yourself

Yeah.
Like what was going on with the caved in part of the cellar, it felt like it was part of the story since the killer came from there

>user, I wanna see something really scary tonight!

What do you pick? No thriller/psychological suspense, too boring for females/

> What have you watched recently? How was it?
Jigsaw, Hatchet 4, and Jeepers Creepers 3. All were complete and total shit. I watched The Hidden a while back and loved that, though.

> Your favorite horror movies ever?
American Werewolf in London, Pet Sematary, Night of he Demons 1 & 2, The Lost Boys, etc.

> Horror related wishlist?
No more remakes. Sequels are fine. Mandatory practical effects. CGI used sparingly, if at all.

> Your horror waifu/harem?
Danielle Harris before the shitty tattoo and aging. Currently? Pic related. Perfection.
