droid attack on the wookies

i don't appreciate your tone

they will need help in asking humans what the best way to ask for help is.

Literally doesn't matter at all

I love the concept of aliens visiting earth in search of need. Of course the aliens are more advanced but they see the potential in humanity to surpass their own.

Kino concept but it's never executed good.

the squids needed the BBC in the future

w-wwhy did they need humanity's help?

Any other films that explore that concept? It's such an interesting hardly used concept

I thought getting married to someone you know will leave you and having a kid you know will die was the most fucking stupid ending ever

This. Really great concept, reminds me of Childhoods End. But the scene where she [sp/] goes to the future and gets the Chinese guys number from him[/sp] was stupid as hell and took me right out of the movie.

They realised the force is female and they're all agender squids

It's a really great twist from the common threatening atmosphere aliens are given in movies. For once I want to see a good movie where humanity actually has the upper hand in things without making it seem stupid (like Star Wars)

>Hey guys we'll teach you how to cure cancer and fly spaceships and stuff
>We only ask one small favor in exchange. All those high tech weapons we're giving you? Yeah, there's a horde of murderous lizard dudes after us. There's a whopping fifty million of them, meaning they're the second most populous species in the Galaxy behind you wonderful Earth monkeys
I wonder if the Taelons realized they were starting the Imperium of Man

>he doesn't perceive time in five dimensions

Probably something that required linear thinking, as the aliens were incapable of it. Literally the most basic stuff for us, such as short term planning was shown to be foreign concept to them.

Ever wonder if we're being observed by dozens of advanced alien species right now?
And they're probably like "shit, these monkeys are a fucking menace, we better never let them leave their solar system or the galaxy is fucked"

This is a big part of Star Trek TNG's plotline with the Q.

some humans prob experience time nonlinearly and others linearly. That's probably the key.

another scifi I haven't heard, the 90s and early 2000s was a scifi fans wet dream series wise

They foresaw a future of dishonest filmmaking taking over cinema

THIS

is it, i dont think so, he even changes the timeline at one point.

its only dumb if you dont understand the film
learning that language makes her perception like dr manhattan. that applies retroactively for all her life, the same with anyone else who learns it (the general)

youll find this a lot in scifi /lit/ and from some of the books i read years ago, the concepts ranged from humanity having the best potential for evolutionary adaption to being so highly individualistic in psychology that it was difficult for other ayys to predict how we would strategize in a war on a macro and micro level

Why? The point is that time is not linear, we are trash beings who can't even 4th dimension so we experience it linearly.

turn your brain off bro

there is ZERO evidence it wasnt the chinks who actually got the message right and they actually gave hmanity a trojan horse

Nah. We are definitely not any different from them when they were that young.

the last starfighter

Mass Effect's universe had it where the Krogan were uplifted to fight a war for other alien species, then forceably neutered to roll back their breeding
It's genuinely a really solid piece of worldbuilding and then the 3rd was horrendous

You clearly weren't paying attention.

TNG literally starts and ends with Q testing humanity bc the Q have perceived that we have the potential to be greater than them one day and it fucks with their heads.

Oddly enough I just restarted that series yesterday. And the rachni they fight were being controlled by the reaper sovereign to fight which is quite sad. Also I don't hate 3 it's just not as good as 1 and i didn't care for how they changed Cerberus

The genophage did nothing wrong

3 is an absolute abomination. Sorry but if you say you don't hate 3 your opinion is immediately discarded.

ME3's story has many low-severity flaws and up until then, that wasnt acceptable of bioware games

its another thing now

FLUMBF WAS GOING TO GET ELECTED

You might already know but 3 was meant to go in a different direction with dark energy stuff, from Liara's (maybe Tali's?) loyalty mission in 2 when when you visit that dying star planet, but writing stuff happened and the main guy got kicked out
3 was an absolute farce, they fucked cerberus, ruined the illusive man who was an really good character, gave a shitty resolution to the genophage, and literally deus ex machina'd the ending

kek

>abbott is in death process

My biggest issue was the broken ass space exploration system (perfect in 2 good in 1) disensitivizing you from reading each plant bio since most clusters were glitches and had the same bios from previous games

Also for me (being a completion isn't was the fucking omega Dlc. I absolutely despise aria in 3 and it just goes on and on and on

Nice try, xeno.

Mass Effect 3 with all the DLC is one of the greatest games ever made. You're just parroting Sup Forums bullshit, try thinking for yourselves sometime.

>inb4 muh 3 color ending

The entire fucking game is one long ending, tonally, thematically. All the character arc resolutions that are supposed to happen in an ending still happen, they just happen pre-climax instead of the denouement so brainlets like you can't process it.

It also has the greatest soundtrack ever made for a game.

Did you really think Bioshit will deliver ?

They will need new organic materials.

Jóhann Jóhannsson, who did the score, died yesterday :(

>omega DLC
Whatever happened with all the dlc? I hated 3 so much I never bothered with it, but saw a youtube vid that you visit a reaper ancestor under the ocean or something? what was the full story?
Not parroting, and as above, didn't bother with dlc after the core game. Mind giving a synopsis of it?
Yeah - at the time I did, they had a good track record

Your opinion is literally and objectively shit and it's downright ironic that you would call anyone else a brainlet.

honestly my biggest problem was that only the extreme renegade ending had any sense "winning" the game, and that they didnt let me somehow kill Harbinger

This. Hating me3 is the most reddit cheetah fingered opinion a gaymer can have. It's the equivalent of parroting those Reddit letter media faggots. Instead with that fat medxicunt eceleb

i partially agree but you gotta understand 2012 bioware was considered almost infallible and all their games came with extremely high fan expectations

a game like me3 right now would be considered a masterpiece

Doesn't matter. It was a shit plot point to make the plot more profound somehow and to tack on something on a grand scale to the newfound power/weapon of seeing into the future. Possibly also to make room for a sequel.
Just so everyone knows, nothing like this happens in the short story the movie was based on. No explicit seeing into the future, no Alex Jones military coup, no 3000 years, no China bullshit. That's Hollywood for you.

Omega is awful but I torture myself with completing it each time. And the ancestor is the leviathan dlc. It's actually pretty neat, hunting the leviathan across the galaxy like some cryptic creature and yeah they are the creatures the catalyst first harvests since they created him

I don't know who he is or any of his work but I head some of my boy Max Ritchter on this film.

so the ancestors created the cycle to stop AI getting too powerful? that's it?

a faithful adaptation would have been way too boring for most audiences.

>tfw in Halo universe humanity wuz kaangz and sheeiit, except we brought the Flood all over the universe that it literally destroyed most life all over and the only way to defeat it meant the leading race of aliens had to kamikaze themselves

Any kino with this kind of trope?

yes they made a godly AI to stop lower races from making godly AIs

>That's Hollywood for you.

>executed good
*Well...
Executed *well

This is true. Bioware had a long way to fall, especially after ME2.

>didn't bother with the DLC
Yeah, the base game is still better than it's given credit for I think but without the DLC its mediocre. The Citadel DLC especially is where all the "ending" stuff that would normally happen after the climax happens. A synopsis would make it sound kind of lame, but if you were ever invested in the characters it

... redeems the game entirely.

Yeah he dlc makes it feel fuller. Citadel is rediculous but really ties the story together

>Aliens will never groom humanity into a species of lapdog space soldiers

I understand it. I just thought it was stupid.

We'll you have to remember Cerberus leaders and upper eschelon became indoctrinated with all the recovered reaper tech after the collector base. Also they had infinite troops from sanctuary refugees

The illusive mans goal was always to control the reapers from the onset. As for funding it's not too crazy to think their main investors became indoctrinated likely from observing recovered reaper tech and this basically threw infinite resources into funding the Cerberus military arm

humanity step up as universal straight man since abbot died.

>ywn be an alien waifus slam piece

Why live

the bible if you look at the angels and the holy spirits as aliens

indoctrination was too much of a crux by the third
Saren was believable in the 1st and he genuinely thought he was helping, cerberus just went retarded brainwashed zombies
Not to mention that the Illusive Man was more about advancing humanity than controlling reapers, that was just a means to an end

what are they black americans?

Most of the people who were appalled at the ending probably followed the development of it and big boy Casey Hudson said something along the lines of "there will be so many different endings" ME3 might be a finale but its ending point was dogshit and spat in the eyes of fans. Also what is there to fucking process? You get spoonfed about everything the second the game ends. ME2 was ok for the side quest that it was and ME1 was great, but fuck me did ME3 underperform.

That would be the life

doesnt matter
faggot rainbow ending shows both you and elusive man are right

...

He was always shady (even though I liked that trait in him) but it was obvious that advancing himanity was his pr method for what he obviously really wanted

ME3 is amazing except for the ending. That was literally the only problem I found with the game.

not a decision

Dem pred bois Betta not bring they women to earth or imma mount dem hos and make dem cuck bois watch

To bring back Brendan

Probably Star Trek, if you include First Contact

Oddly enough Ithe last hour sequence of bringing the ships to earth fighting through London, saying goodbye to squad mates, running to the beam as harbinger shoots your shit through the credits are one of my favorite sequences ever.

Even though people don't like that there is no final boss they could have at least turned illusive man into some freakish reaper husk, even though he was nearly there for a final fight before meeting the catalyst

Every time I watched this it looked like a Alien Nation conspiracy show knockoff. Are you saying it's more like a cheapo A Call To Arms (Alan Dean Foster) or Legacy of the Aldenata story?

wow, didnt realize being replaced by Zimmer takes that much of a toll on a person. RIP

Abbott is death process

Eh. There was a bunch of shows, but there wasn't any streaming at the time so following more than one or two was a holy bitch.

And season DVD sets for tv series weren't really a thing until the late 2000s, so buying Farscape or Babylon 5 or whatever was super fucking expensive. I think WB still charges $60 a season for Bab5.

THIS how else will they appease their women?

Try to defend what they did to Renegade
Just try.

Mass Effect 3 launch trailer was one of the best game trailers of all time too

youtube.com/watch?v=bG2mdZ23eP8&has_verified=1

What exactly? Do you think it's unnecessarily evil (shooting mordin and samaras daughter)

It stopped being "Getting the job done pragmatically while ignoring red tape and pointless sidetracking" and became " let me just be an asshole for no reason to my own detriment"

we have to save the squid people from the intergalactic sperm whales haha

I can tell by the video title alone this is a uridon video

fuck off cunt

Fair enough

Know any more about the dark energy angle? Sounds like it could have been something.

Which is absolutely retarded. Any species capable of interstellar travel should be capable of augmenting themselves to surpass whatever advantages we gained by way of natural evolution. Scifi is a bullshit genre because our primitive meat brains are incapable of depicting a genuinely advanced civilization.

Reapers did nothing wrong

Signs
if you look at the movie as a idiotic redneck xenophobe family and not the other way around (meaning the ayys are the niggers) its quite there with your demands
