Secret of the Ooze still works because though campy it has a lame enough plot that works and some great scenes.
Sure Don's voice change sucks and it's not Bebop and Rocksteady, that doesn't stop it from being good.
The cartoon was boring. The villains were lame, April and Casey were lame, Splinter's VA didn't pack the right punch and it was just not fun to watch.
It's hard to be nostalgic over the new ones cause they're a either mediocre or okay and barely old.

Honestly I didn't get the hate. It was a really fun, goofy blockbuster. It wasn't perfect, and Casey wasn't really Casey but it was still a fun schlock ride from start to finish despite of that. I liked it.

I really enjoyed the second one. About everything I'd want from a TMNT movie. Just sucks they sucks they scrapped doing a third one. Meanwhile they keep shitting dull transformer movies practically every year.
I'm hoping when they reboot it, they base it in the early 90s or late 80s, and keep it with the same tone as Out of the Shadows, and the first original Turtles movie. And stop trying to make it dark or serious.

These movies can never be forgiven for fucking up Casey Jones, it's probably one of the reasons Out of the Shadows bombed. He's like the original Jason Todd Red Hood in regard to his inexplicable popularity with normies who barely keep up with the franchise, he's NOT hard to get right and you do NOT dare reinvent that wheel. They just grabbed some CW dude who looked like he filmed his scenes on Arrow lunch breaks.
