Is Sup Forums just being contrarian when they say this show is genuinley bad? I get they slipped up a bit without the bookd but a bad show can’t produce kino like Battle of the Bastards
Is Sup Forums just being contrarian when they say this show is genuinley bad...
I thought the show was good until season 7. Season 7 felt like they just took everything Reddit wanted to happen and wrote it into the screenplay.
Everything after season1 was shit.
That's all there is to it.
Not true by any means
I still like it. I am fully aware the questionable writing and point it out to myself as I watch it, but I've been with the characters for so long now and want to see where they all end up.
1 scene does not make a show good. Almost everything else about it is universally garbage. The big setpieces are surely well done and cool, but the story and characters at this point are terrible and hollow caricatures of what once were.
Why did Rhaegar name both of his sons Aegon?
Why did Littlefinger suddenly lose his composure when confronted by Sansa with easily deniable claims. He knows the weirwood cannot see in the Veil.
After winning the BotB, why did the Vale Lords declare Jon Snow King in the North and not their liege Lord, Sweetrobin, King of the North and the Vale?
Why didn't Samwell ever attend a single class while at the Citadel, the world's center of learning?
Right, season 2 is the only other season that's worth watching.
Catelyn was too old
Sansa and Arya got ugly as they aged
The season that ruined Robb, Stannis, and Littlefinger is not worth watching.
The amount of sex scenes that are useless pisses me off. Who the hell wants to see a dickless guy have sex? Or Littlefinger teach whores how to fuck?
They could have more time to develop characters if there weren't sex scenes in every fucking episode.
Yeah this is a big complaint I have. Like I get showing the main characters having sex last season, but what the fuck was the point of the dickless dude having sex. He was barely even in the season, nor was the girl. There's a ton of scenes where I'm just like, why do we need to see this? There's not much time as it is, but you get filler like Tyrion drinking games in Essos and talking about cocks. I was rewatching LoTR and there's so many memorable scenes for the time they had in comparison.
Half the problems in the story could have been avoided if the characters weren't complete idiots.
Also teleporters.
first couple seasons were good, last season was absolute dog shit
I wondered how they mucked it up so badly with Catelyn.
>what the fuck was the point of the dickless dude having sex.
why would he even want to ?
I think all the dickless characters are getting more screen time (theyon , varys) Its deliberate Hollywood manipulation. I think jon snow will get his dick chopped off next season.
I think it's just ultra nerds that are big into the books being super gay about the differences between the books and the show. I watched all seven seasons last year for the first time and I was thoroughly entertained throughout. It's a pretty great show, anyone that dislikes it must have conditioned themselves to not like it for some ridiculous reason.
the show is fine
the books were shit to begin with
the story is a mess. impossible to finish right
grrm has given up.
d&d just did whatever their audience asked because what else could they do.
>Season 7 felt like they just took everything Reddit wanted to happen and wrote it into the screenplay.
Explain
Jon suddenly falls for dany
Ice Viserion
Meme characters all suddenly joining up to go on retarded mission
Dude rowing gendry memes lmao
And on and on it went
Saying season 7 is bad isn't contrarian, it's the general opinion even among normies.
It was awesome until they got ahead of the books. Now it's just another poorly written action show.
Season 1 was great
Season 2 was good
Season 3 was good
All downhill from there with a few good moments here and there
The really sad thing is that decent writing could have finished it up. But the writing isn't even decent. It's just total shit. And the writers act like they are so amazing on all those stupid "behind the episode" propoganda pieces.
Total garbage writing. How do these hacks get into these positions? It blows my mind.
This is exactly right. Because the books are really not great doesnt mean they arent entertaining though. Season 7 was complete fan service an George has two books to finish way too much. The show outline he made has fucked him.
>Story about a deconstruction of classical fantasy with political intrigue and ambiguous morality
>Turns into generic fantasy with clear cut good guys and bad guys
Once Bean died, I couldn’t care anymore.
This is the only show in my life I've ever followed for the simple fact that all my friends watch it and it's all they talk about the day after an episode airs. It's okay, but I'll never understand the hype.
