definitive proof that JJ is a hack. Not a single original idea in the whole movie. 2001, 2010, Philadelphia experiment, Alien and Gravity all thrown together in a single movie to cash in again on the name Cloverfield

Can confirm. Watched it today and had to force myself to finish. Nothing remotely related to Cloverfield is even referenced until the very end and it's so obviously shoehorned in it's insulting. The rest is weird jokes, shameless ripoffs and a weak stronk female storyline.

Special effects were okay.

alright but can you spoil the plot for me? thanks

I still enjoyed it.

there is no plot. Things just happens and then it ends. Monster shows up in last 4 seconds.

>actors do thing
>thing leads to negative consequences
>good guys eventually win
>but oh wait a monster

Why are you blaming him if he was not even the director and was busy with star wars at the time of this movie production?

Julious Onah was the director and he got an awful track record

Because jar jar abrams is the one who forced his shit franchise into the script. Before turning into a cloverfield prequel it was actually a decent script.

The movie would have been 200% better without all the retarded earth scenes.

Matt should have been the director again but he was too busy making Apekino

And now hes busy cleaning snyder shit, this guy life is dedicated to turn hack trash into gold

>shit franchise
>cloverfield
Yeaahhhh...opinion discarded, sorry.

>definitive proof
But we already knew that

memes aside
is the new cloverfield movie any good?

How come in the 2nd and 3rd film the monsters had almost nothing to do with anything?

Actually, it's genius.

>buy movie that is about to be shelved
>change name to make it seem related to a product you own
>instant film universe
>idiots lap it up
>do it again and again

There really isn't a plot to spoil, it's just a weird bunch of events, not even a sequence of events, just a bunch of them throw together.

JJ abrams has never had an original idea, he's never been anything other than a hack.

I you want to keep up with the Cloverfield universe watch the last 15 seconds of the movie, it was the only good part anyway.

I thought that everyone already knew that Clverfield sucess was all due Matt

>people pretending it's a good movie because they have to justify their Netflix subscription

the absolute state of sheep consumerism

because he's just making random movies and slapping a similar name on them in order to draw audiences

because hollywood is allergic to anything that isn't a cinematic universe, right now.

but Netflix paid for itself with this masterpiece

It's an intertextual meta-series.

Was that movie at the end a fucking puppet?Holy shit

Also it didn't looked nothing like the first movie one, different format and color, this one was dark grey while the original one was white

>People go into space to test a particle accelerator
>Would provide energy worldwide but too dangerous to test on earth
>WhOopS test run goes cuh-razayy and wacky shit happens on the space station!
>Turns out it opened a hole in spacetime to multiple universes!
>A guy's arm gets sucked into the wall, detaches and becomes independent
>The arm also knows that an object appeared in a dead guy's chest somehow?
>A russian goes crosseyed and pukes worms?
>One room of space station becomes magnetized and welding material eats a guy?
>A wheel of the space station gets fucked up and the black guy dies trying to remove it even though it doesn't really affect the plot at all?
>Parallel universe girl appears on space station and sabotages shit because her parallel earth needs the energy source instead?
>Main protag manages to use the particle accelerator to get back home
>Closing scene is escape pod falling to earth and oh yeah here's a rushed 5-second scene of Cloverfield popping up above the clouds screaming

You could remove any time the word "Cloverfield" appears in this movie, and that last 5-second scene, and it would basically be a SyFy original.

That's the point of Cloverfield Paradox: "We made everything originate from multiverses so we can lazily write off plot holes and atmosphere"

>Sunshine
>Event Horizon
>The Philadelphia Experiment
>The Mist

Basically took ideas from existing movies and mashed them into 1 with Cloverfield slapped on the title.
