Exactly. Iron Man 1 was actually great. It's a shame the quality took a nosedive afterwards and none of the following movies even tried to match the same tone or standards as IM1.

The organization isn't the problem I have with the MCU, it's that they're so paint-by-numbers and blandly shot that I feel burnt out after watching any two of them in a year.
Deapoop, and Logan wasn't as good as everyone raved, but at least they were refreshing and brought something new into the mix.

What was good about Iron Man was that it was actually a superhero movie, with the protagonist doing actually heroic stuff. Also, Iron Man seemed as if he weighed a ton.

Nothing wrong with that. I haven't seen Thor Rag yet, but I enjoyed Dr. Strange a lot. It had some nice trippy visuals.

It only became truly awful when they made Star Wars. I'd go back in time and tell George to either not sell it, and sell it for more money than they can possibly afford so they get fucked.

Spider-man 1 and 2 are the only ones I'll call movies. Everything else is capeshit.

X-2 and Batman Begins were also damn good movies.

The first 10 minutes of Blade was basically cakekino. It should be taught in schools.

Before the MCU started in 2008 we had:

X-Men 1-3, Spider-Man 1-3, Daredevil, Elektra, Catwoman, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Fantastic Four 1-2, Blade 1-3, Hellboy 1-2, Hulk, The Punisher, Ghost-Rider 1-2, Batman & Robin...

Most of those are way, way worse than anything done now and they flooded in every year. At least now Capeshit is moderated by some form of quality control.

I would go back and make Avengers a financial disaster. If it had stopped with Avengers 1, I would have been happy. also, every movie leading up to Avengers was totally fine (even Iron Man 2)

No, I sincerely think that the first "phase" of the MCU is one of the best film series that exists (with the exception of Iron Man 2). What the Avengers did is unprecedented in cinema, and has Iron Man failed, that movie would not exist.
