I'm so hype for this movie it isn't even funny. And this is coming from someone who thought Thor was decent and Thor: The Dark World was shit.

Me too. I want on Wahtiti's wild ride.
>this movie it isn't even funny.
I dunno user, from the trailers it looks like it will be pretty funny
Hulk makes for me.
>from the trailers
the movie was not filmed from the trailers, it was filmed from the set user
What kind of concerns me is that this film is confrimed as the shortest MCU film, which makes me think that 2/3rds of it will just be the Gladiator stuff.
so this happens before the epilogue of doctor strange?
I meant that im ridiculously hype for this movie
The lenth of the movie concerns you when its confirmed the movie is all made up?
They supposedly seeing Hobo Odin
>people like drax
>lets make hulk drax in the movie
k
>I'm so hype for this movie
I am too, user.
>lets make hulk drax in the movie
I don't really see it.
I don't think I've disliked a Thor more than this. But people will eat this shit up because he's hot. And those weird roasties going for Loki too.
How come Dr Strange hasn't been in any of the trailers? Are they trying not to reveal too much unlike BvS trailers?
I think it'll be a small part, like Falcon in Ant-Man.
I'm hijacking your oddly directed bait post about this movie to ask why Thor has gotten three movies. Did the first two really do that well? Is it just that they feel the founders need to continue to get movies? What about the Hulk? I think there's some kind of rights issue there, right?
I feel conflicted towards this movie, on one hand Taika is awesome, we get Goldblum in space, Hela, Surfur, Thor's helmet
On the other hand, there's diversity!Valkyrie, some GotG vibes that probably won't fit well, and Hulk-what?
>I think there's some kind of rights issue there, right?
Yep.
I'm expecting a shallow but fun adventure movie with some nice visuals.
Like, I'm betting this movie is going to be the definition of 7/10, but that's just good enough to get that 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
>and Hulk-what?
You don't deserve to post here. GET OUT.
This is basically Thor's last chance, I think. If this doesn't do well he'll never get another movie.
Any chance they'll put in the Jormungand?
>excited for mediocre, formulaic quipshit
Society is doomed.
The first Thor was a pretty big hit and was one of the higher grossing phase 1 movies. The second one was a let down but they still know theirs money to be made from the franchise
SPOILER DISCUSSION!
With the Infinity War teaser we saw Thor still in his gladiator outfit left floating out in space among ruins.
This suggest the following options...
> 1.) Hela/Surtur wins & destroys Asgard.
> 2.) Thor does something drastic to stop them like summoning the Lorn bolt and destroys Asgard as a bittersweet side effect.
> 3.) We saw in the footage Loki holding the cosmic cube so we know he steals it from Asgard, prehaps he also destroyed Asgard with it.
> 4.) Ragnarok has a happy ending but Thanos destroys Asgard off screen in between films.
I am desperately fucking praying option #4 does not happen, that would be the greatest failure of the MCU for me, let Thor have his tragic apocalypse ON SCREEN.
>Hulk? I think there's some kind of rights issue there, right?
marble can't RELEASE a Hulk movie. They can make all the Hulk movies they want, for ANOTHER studio (Universal) to release. It's another stupidity from went Marble was deservedly bankrupt commercially and creatively. It doesn't matter how many years pass, Universal has the rights to release Hulk, period.
What marvel and the mouse house can do, is release a movie with Thor, not put Hulk's name on it, but have Hulk co-star in a buddy role, like this.
Yeah, that TDW brought in $400 million plus overseas is what helped this to happen. BUT if the movie can't get much more than the 220 it got domestically and much over $700 - I mean fucking Antman made more than Thor 1 did and TDW only beat Antman by a bit more than 100M total, and that's with Loki and post The Avengers, which gave IM3 a huge bump. GotG #1 beat it by about 100M.
It needs to top the 230 that Dr. Strange did in North America and exceed the $400 it already made world wide by a little bit at least, definitely match it and what everyone else is making (DS, GotG, etc.) in foreign sales.
The Thor movies are my favorite. The cap movies always feel like it's pieced together or could have been a mini series. I only really liked the first iron man. Do the hulk movies even count? Avengers movies were just ok. Too much banter seemingly written by a sarcastic girl trying to fit in with the guys. Ant man sucked.
>as a pretty big hit and was one of the higher grossing phase 1 movies
None of the Phase 1 movies were 'high grossing' - except for Manlet Man. NONE of the rest grossed more than $200M in the North America market which is where Marble Studios was making most of it's money back. It did make more than Cap or Hulk in foreign markets but still nothing to call it a "big" hit, much less "pretty big" - the second movie literally made more in foreign markets than the first movie made in total, so you really have NO CLUE what you're talking about.
Everyone thought Thor was decent and Dark World was shit though
>hulk movies
Yup. As the lowest grossing Phase 1 movie (and it even featured Manlet Man and still made bumps) AND the first as the lowest grossing attempt to jump start a movie universe (although to be fair, the Ang Lee version made more opening weekend and almost made the identical amount domestically as the Phase 1 version with Norton).
Taika said they currently have 3 cuts of the film, one of which is 90 minutes, another which is 120, and another which is even longer.
Because Hulk is the first thing one thinks when talking about THOR RAGNAROK®, right?
I'm glad the entire MCU is now rolling with the trashy 80s style set by Gunn for Marvel cosmic. It's a good fit and I'm glad other movies are expanding it more even if Gunn himself isn't doing incredibly much with it right now.
If the rumor that Hela is going to take the place of Death in the MCU I won't be surprised if the only thing Thor achieves is killing Surtur and stopping any other realms aside from Asgard from being destroyed. I do want to know where Hulk is by the end of the film though, clearly he's not wit Thor
Well if there's no Jane Foster, I'm in.
I don't think either of those four scenarios are going to happen. Especially the last two. Loki actually cares for Asgard's well-being and I think he'd try to prevent Asgard's destruction by Thanos' hands.
>If the rumor that Hela is going to take the place of Death in the MCU
I seem to recall seeing on a number of occasions that said rumor is bullshit.
> I do want to know where Hulk is by the end of the film though, clearly he's not wit Thor
Thor, Valkyrie, Loki and Banner confront Hella on the Bifrost in the trailer. Could be that Banner gets sent to Earth that way.
>posting too many words of "fucking kids" in .jpg form
I hate how Thor's entire character was fumbled so hard by the first two movies, it seems like they've just given up and turned him into "le funny Asgard bro".
After What we do in the Shadows?
Hoo boy.
I hope they don't kill Hela.
Wonder if they go with the retconned comic origin and make her Loki's ex?
I wonder how much of the movie will be spend on Loki and Thor reconciling?
>based Wahtiti
>Kirby aesthetics
>Rune King Thor?
>Hela Blanchett
>assemble the A(sgard) Team!
>talking Hulk
>Skurge Urban
Why would you not be hype for this film?
Cate Blanchett is too expensive so she'll be Thanos's Death
They might make Hela Death's avatar.
I'm sure a lot of people share similar sentiments but keep it on
I think Thor TDW is the worst of the MCU movies and I am hyped more for Ragnarok than any other MCU movie coming, even IW
They need to do Ragnarok to finish setting up IW. This is the movie that is supposed to be the final setup for that. They could have done it in GoTG but Gunn wanted his movies to remain seperate until IW
>Nigger Valkyrie
Normally I'll just skip it completely for that (like Spider-Man) but I'm still going to give this one a go.
She's a Valkyrie, the others are dead
Oh shit, I remember being there when they shot that scene.
It was like, late last year, a block away from my campus, right after class. There was a fuckton of people.
So did you skip the other Thor movies cause Heimdall? Skipping Deadpool 2 cause Domino?
Fellow brisfag eh.
You're lucky mate.. My office is off in Mary st. Close, but not enough to see it. Too much shit in the way.
Roads being closed of was a bitch though.
Shit dude, they filmed there too. Didn't remember when though.
That fucking alley in the trailer, the one where Hela broke the hammer, that was on Mary, in the intersection with Albert, just off Miel's.
Didn't get to see it though, I think they closed off the whole road for that one, completely, not like the OP scene, where they let people and cars pass by every once in a while.
>1,000,000 BC - Human life begins to emerge on Earth. From his other dimension the Elder God Set mystically influences a small handful of Homo erectus and turns them into serpent-like humanoids. Set also give these Serpent Men the ability to shape change into human form. Set, foreseeing the arrival of the First Host of the Celestials on Earth, urges his Serpent Men to kill a nearby Homo erectus tribe so that they and not the humans would be the ones to be experimented upon and empowered by the Celestials. The Serpent Men enter the valley near where the Celestials would land and urge two humans to turn on their own tribe. However the humans reject the Serpent Men, and drive them from the valley.
>The First Host of Celestials arrives on Earth to explore the planet and to perform genetic experiments on human beings. They are greeted by Gaea, who escorts them to the valley where the tribe of Homo erectus lives. The Serpent Men approach the Celestials, but are driven away by the Celestial Arishem the Judge. Gathering up a handful of the humans, the Celestial Gammenon brings them back to the Celestials' ship. The Celestial Ziran the Tester analyzes the humans, then begins his experiments. He creates the Deviants, a sub-species of man who are genetically unstable, so that the Celestials could determine mankind's adaptability. Nezzar the Calculator then experimentes and creates the Eternals, who are evolutionary accelerated, given extended life spans, and the ability to channel and manipulate limited quantities of cosmic energy. The Eternals are created to test mankind's durability and longevity. To further test the versatility of human genes, the Celestial Oneg the Prober implants a dormant DNA complex in other specimens of mainstream humanity which would one day result in benevolent mutations. Completing their experiments, the Celestials release their test subjects and leave Earth.
How would Sup Forums feel if Thor gets new powers from an experiment by Ziran and somehow effectively replaces Ikaris of the Eternals. I'm not sure how they would bring in other Eternals or what their history would be like. How would Sup Forums feel if they changed the history of the Eternals in some ways?
Ikaris' life force is augmented by cosmic energy and he has total mental control over his physical form and bodily processes even when he is asleep or unconscious. As a result, he is virtually immortal, immune to disease and aging, and invulnerable to conventional forms of injury. Should Ikaris be injured somehow, he could regenerate any injured or missing tissue. Cosmic energy bolsters Ikaris's metabolism so that he does not tire from any physical exertion. He can resist temperature extremes through mental concentration.
Ikaris can levitate himself by mentally manipulating gravitons around himself. He can also levitate other persons and objects, even while simultaneously levitating himself. Ikaris is able to fly via self-levitation at approximately 850 miles per hour, a rate of speed most other Eternals cannot match.
Ikaris can project cosmic energy in the form of beams from his eyes or beams and flashes from his hands. This cosmic energy, stored in specialized enclaves of cells in his body, can be used as force, heat, light, and possibly other forms of electromagnetic energy
Eternals could replace the Asgardians
