Reminder that nun spiders

Why is Albert Wesker wearing a skirt?

...

tfw no reply

Unless Miles somehow convinced an ILM engineer to work for free, I don't know how he expects to render this in a way that will look presentable to anyone, even himself.

Reminder that Phil Sandifer said that In the Fores of the Night is genius and rated it 10/10.
How high my IQ should be to understand this episode?

how did we go from this...

Reminder that if Phil became a youtuber, we would all despise him and think he makes hbomb look pleasant.

...to this?

Do early JNT style.

When Phil did his re-ranking of S8 at the end of 2014, he dropped it 5 places and gave it a B.

wait a minute, aren't those black lines in the middle orange part meant to be the outline of the pectorals from the body template they drew over?
Why does the final costume include those black pectoral lines?

My guess is someone fucked up, or they wanted to distract from how flat the people wearing the costumes would actually be.

...

kek

I guess the costume designer thought those were meant to be clothes and not their skin.

I know it won't be, but I genuinely hope they make a nun spider marionette

it's just weird that they left those lines in but not any of the others

The problem is that looks even more outdated than the actual 70s Axon costumes.

I swear, low budget fanfilms could probably get away with the terrible production values if they just slapped a 70s TV filter over it. It would remove most of the pretense that it's supposed to look good.

Or if they just shot it with the Auton Stratagem camera

I hope he actually buys live tarantulas and tapes tissue paper onto them.

So I've never seen Claws of Axos so the first time I saw this picture I thought it was from the actual serial

Tbh now that I think about it, we filmed with an actual film camera and then transferred that to digital, so that's probably why it ended looking the way it did

I honestly love the low quality early 2000s look. it gives off, there's something so kino about that aesthetic

There's something about it that feels... real? I guess? I feel like modern HD cameras almost catch too much detail, like you can see more onscreen than you could with the naked eye, but something about those cameras seem to capture just enough detail that it's not too much, not too little

...

>tfw no Doctor Who fan-films shot on 35mm film to give it the Bernadetti/oldschool style aesthetic

Part of it is probably the depth of field - early 00s cameras capture the world as is, while these days cameras have stronger focal ranges and the background can be blurred while real life doesn't look like that to us

I thought Nirvi was supposed to be brown as a self-insert for Claudia

This. If I was to make a fanfilm, I'd make sure it has that vintage look. Or just anything really, like music videos. But I would love to play the Doctor.

Yeah, I get you. I think a lot of it is nostalgia for me. The colour tends to be washed out on those old digital cameras and it probably reminds me of rainy days being a kid. The 2000s aesthetic is really really nostalgic, which is probably weird to a lot of the older people here who would've spent most of their childhoods in the 90s.

/who/ was this?

VHS-tier footage is ultimate levels of comfy. I'm all for digital enhancement but watching classic Who on a small old TV is something quite capable of imitation.

>hmm, the thread's on a role with discussion, what should I do? Should I join in?
>Nah, I'll just disrupt it!
lmao my man
I had a brain fart while writing this. Ignore.

Do it, dude. Make your own fanfilm, be your own doctor. It's honestly a lot of fun, especially when you let yourself go and have as much fun as you possibly can with it

nirvi is meant to be mixed race, but with each recast she's become more white

See, since I grew up at the very tail-end of the VHS era I can't say I have that same level of nostalgia for it. I do recall watching old videos when I was younger so I do get the stuff that would be nostalgic to most people (scan lines, distortion, etc). But something about the early 2000s really gives me a feeling I can't quite articulate.

hey i didnt want to start a fight i just wanted to know which one of you guys said it

Redpill me on Natasha Peppersplink

The audio played a large factor in it for some people - not inaudible, but ever so slightly muted or muffled, like putting your hands lightly over your ears

I'd love to do that. I don't really know anyone else to make one with though.

Why? For what purpose?
> responding to the 451 poster

pls finish the recon

Make an audio, then. I'm sure folks from /who/'d take part. I certainly would!

RIGHT LADS LETS SETTLE THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL

I will do. I'm on this weird streak of being motivated to do music lately so I'm trying not to waste this opportunity. I only have about 5 minutes of the episode left to do.

Hm, that's honestly a good idea. I might give that a go.

General thoughts on the story Kinda? I'm watching it, and I understand why it's so beloved.

Oh good and I've listened before to your music and I dig it

Claudia literally IS the character, there can be no replacement.

It's good. Neat surreal scenes, a unique alien culture with some fleshed out aspects, and a memorable portrayal of a mental breakdown.

wasn't the part literally written for her, as a mixed race british-indian? Did claudia grow up muslim and have a phase of questioning it too?

>so beloved
Is it though? I didn't think it was particularly well-received at the time. But it's definitely a great story, what with the Mara being such a fantastic villain, and the set-up for the similarly superb "Snakedance". If I were showrunner, the Mara would be on my shortlist of returning monsters.

Holy shit, I didn't realize you still frequented /who/

Tbh I think it's become one of 5's stand out stories after the fact, just because it's hard to find stuff in his era that does stick out, so when people had to pick out stories that were "good", Kinda stood out, even though for most other eras it'd be a meh story

thoughts on the current state of memes?

Reminder that Dollard cried over capeshit.

>making the same post again even though it only got 1 reply of 'Fuck off' last thread
you're really begging for the filter aren't you?

/who/ I think I'm feeling like the doctor did in tdf. What do?

Which bit of TDF specifically? The end?

Turn your friend into a lesbian puddle person.

Yes.

Personally, I think that's one hell of a sneed.

It's overrated (by fandom at least) and towards the lower end of Davison serials. Snakedance is better. Kinda is mediocre, slow and uninteresting outside of YOU CAN'T MEND PEOPLE, which is strange but admittedly GOAT

Snakedance has some really good atmosphere to it, and the cliffhangers are pretty good. Much better than I thought it'd be. The opening shot is kino as fuck, if memory serves correctly.

As soon as Tegan's mind was shown, I acknowledged how great it is as a story.
Yeah, the Mara's great! I can't wait to get the Snakedance and the audio involving it.
I normally don't have much to contribute these days, outside of an upload if anyone asks.

Are you the individual who runs the audio mega?

I have no opinion besides saying I enjoy the shitposting, but I specifically enjoy the Nardole posting even in the Facebook group

I guess you could say that I am, sure. Need anything? All I can't provide are good early Benny stories and Blood of the Daleks part 2.

Anyone?

Could you sort out a download for Static from the Main Range? Many thanks even if you can't.

are you starting to think it would be nice to die?
I don't know your life story and I don't know what's brought you to this point, but if there is any part of you that still wants to live then I seriously recommend seeing a therapist. Whatever issues you have can be dissected, worked through and resolved - It might not be simple or easy but it's a more fulfilling option than the alternative.

Yeah, no worries. In fact, I didn't even notice that I didn't have a download until this post. Give it an hour or so.

Is this a Boomtown reference?

No, it refers to image related - is a Boom Town reference, though.

It's both, I'm tired of it all but I don't want to end it all. Just fed up with it all really.

Turns out I already had the file, just didn't move it over. Be warned, it's low quality due to the shit conversion program I use:

Can someone rec me an underrated 3rd Doctor story to watch rn?

There's no such thing as an underrated Pertwee story, user, but if I had to choose one I'd say The Green Death, Invasion of the Dinosaurs or Colony in Space.

It's fine, the quality is good. Thanks again.

Recon will be up some time tomorrow, I've finished it but haven't rendered it yet

Frontier in Space

Invasion of the Dinosaurs

Neo is bff with Judy.
Cats and Edge on suicide watch.
Lym is silent.
Worst timeline?

I've been told by an inside source that 2odastream and KaviesDennedy are the same person

Erased by moffat

HD restoration of stuff shot on older film stocks is literally the most kino aesthetic:
youtube.com/watch?v=yYvkICbTZIQ
youtube.com/watch?v=rblYSKz_VnI

look how fucking crisp those are. They're from 1966/1967. They look better than shit shot 50 years later. Early digital cameras were a fucking mistake. It's why older things shot on film can be cleaned up and look better than ever before but shit shot digitally looks the best it'll ever look, which is like shit. 28 Days Later will always be in 480p. Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith will always be 1080p. And I'm sure as restoration techniques improve in the next few years, there'll come a point where episodes of classic who will look objectively better than pre-Moffat nuWho. TNG looks great to this day because it was shot on film. Even fucking Friends looks better than modern sitcoms because it was shot on film.

I don't know why RTD went with those awful standard def digital cameras in 2005. It's not like film was too expensive. Digital cinema was still in its infancy then. Even Breaking Bad shot on film for its entire run and that was from 2008-2013, and their budget was definitely lower than Doctor Who's.

You seem to be missing the point of my conversation, you total gimp.

1966 was the best year for the Beatles in terms of music and fashion sense

I beg to differ

Shut up Judy you fat fuck
