I work for marvel which is why I got to go to this screening, and neither I nor any of my coworkers I saw it with were all that impressed with it.
It was a convoluted mess with very little character or heart. Every character was underdeveloped. Killmonger is absolutely one of the better marvel villains though, even though his dialogue is pretty poorly written. However he is the only character in the film with a distinguishable personality. There was way too much talking and exposition. The editing was migraine inducing. The first hour of the film felt useless. Exceptionally poor world building, I wanted to get to know Wakanda and yet it felt like we barely got to see the place at all. Etc etc.
I don't love superhero movies in general though, they just pay the bills. If you like convoluted marvel capeshit, you'll probably enjoy this, I guess.
Saying he is better than most other marvel villains doesn't mean much.
Is he Heath Joker, Doc Ock, Magneto tier?
Or William stryker, Ra's All This, Sebastian Shaw, Nicholson Joker, Bane,Penguin tier?
Jonathan Ward
Wot zid you zay!

Matthew Scott
Him being among the best MCU villains is obviously a low bar, but what makes him a good antagonist is that you can see where he's coming from and actually agree with him on some level, and his ideas actually influence the main character rather than him just being defeated and forgotten about like he never existed, like pretty much all other mustache twirling marvel villains.
The performance itself is not spectacular which is why he doesn't even come close to the likes of Heath Joker.
Jordan Mitchell
O.K People were raving about him like he was the next Joker or something like that and I expect him to be at the very least Bane level of good (in terms of performance) and overall at least as good as the tier 2 villains I listed. Anything below that ranges from decent to dogshit.
Joseph Stewart
>There was way too much talking and exposition. I believe it. That seems to be something critics (well, the non-dicksucking ones) were saying.
Jayden Price
I saw it too.
It sucked.
Luis Harris
lol he's decent, but not worth raving over. He only stands out because, like i said, he is legitimately the only character in the film with a personality or depth. His dialogue ranges from acceptable to facepalm cringeworthy, and the performance is nothing that couldn't have been done equally as well by anyone else. He's not particularly villainously fun or menacing. He just has a good motivation and a meaningful impact on the protagonist, which puts him above 95% of all MCU villains.
Cooper Gomez
I don't think actors will put as much effort into capeshit as they did with Nolan or Raimi films.
Eli Scott
Give three bad pieces of dialogue from the villain?
Joshua Russell
niggers can't show, they have to tell
Lucas Ramirez
No answer, I guess OP is a fraud?
Logan Wright
>I work for marvel which is why I got to go to this screening SHILL
Jackson Lewis
Or I can't remember exact lines of dialogue off the top of my head because I dont have a photographic memory and I've only seen the movie once? There was a lot of awkward shoehorning of AAVE and slang in his lines and nobody elses, which makes it harder to remember exact lines of dialogue because often it didn't really make sense and seemed out of place and tryhard
good enough answer?
Asher Morris
He is supposed to be American educated so it makes sense that he alone uses AAVE.
Dylan Jones
Obviously. I said it was awkward shoehorned AAVE. If it felt natural I wouldn't have a problem with it, but it didn't. It felt like he would turn it on or off and just occasionally use slang to remind the audience of his poor american upbringing.
Luke Jenkins
>Exceptionally poor world building
This is a hallmark of the MCU at this point. Their idea of world-building is an establishing shot. After appearing in three films and having connections to at least three others, all I can tell you about Asgard and the Nine Realms is that they’re “a region of space.”
Benjamin Bell
maybe its like this in the comics as well Mutt comics are terrible to start with, so it wouldnt surprise me
