Should I go on? What was the point of killing him if it doesnt progress the development of the characters, specially Kylo? Was the point to make Kylo a badass for murdering the legendary Han Solo? Why should that turn in into a badass? Basically he just murdered a defenseless old man, I can do that. Did Disney killed Han Solo just because they felt someone of the OT had to die or what?

Ford was only ever gonna do one film, so they effectively had to kill him off. They did it by having Kylo kill him to make him seem super dark side and hardass which is alright, but completely ruined when you throw in comedic tantrums and he's nerfed for the rest of the series.
They hit you over the head with how conflicted Kylo is about killing his parents, but he never seems to give half a fuck about them after they're dead nor go further dark side, he's just pissed all the time. They can't develop characters for shit.

Basically. Don't assume there is a grand narrative planned with the Star Wars movies. Anything that happens is crafted solely for the purpose of contriving justifications for more movies. We are well past the natural endpoint of the story that was RotJ.

Remember at the end of of TFA when Snoke says it's time for Kylo to complete his training
Then that's just kind of forgotten in TLJ

Felt forced to me too, I actually didn't even realize it was supposed to be a plot element until I watched TLJ and then read some other posts about that supposedly being a thing. I didn't get an organic sense of that at all from TFA and was kinda confused as to why she and Finn were so upset about it. Chewie's reaction was the only believable one.

Star Wars movies are shitty movies made by executive committees for the sole purpose of making money. The answers to all the inconsistencies and shortcomings in the plot/characterization flow from that single fact.

The films are shit at explaining this, but I gather Snoke's been in Kylo's head for years before that point and was telling him stuff like the jedi are fucked, your family is fucked and are gonna kill you, everything they told you about grandpa and the dark side is wrong, etc. Luke standing over him with the lightsaber pretty much just confirmed all that and he flipped. We are exactly at the same point we was in the beggining. Rey still doesnt know where her parents are or why they left her, Kylo is still torn, Poe is leading the resistance but not, Finn is the only one with progression. He learned how to fly in the span of 3 days

It's like you didn't even watch the movie. Kylo immediately regrets killing his father and is a mess at the beginning of TLJ. He also can't kill Leia and flinches when Luke mentions Han will always be with him. They literally cut to Leia's devastated reaction after this scene.

The point of Han's death is that it's actually the seed that will redeem Kylo in the end. That's what "split [him] to the bone" as Snoke said and it keeps coming up again for his character. In his convos with Rey, in his convos with Luke, Snoke, the dice Leia seems to have left for him that he was holding in the end. In the end, he will embrace the "weak and foolish" part of him that is his father's side.

because Snoke knew about the forcebond between them and manipulated it to make them fall in love, I kid you not. He literally tells Rey he know she would "take the bait" and go to Kylo to try and turn him and that Kylo "was too weak" to hide his "weakness" from her. He wanted them to bond and have Kylo kill her mercilessly so there would be nothing left to pull him to the Light side. If he couldn't, he was likely going to kill Kylo and Rey or try and make Rey his new student instead.
