I hate Michael.

Friendly reminder Dukat did nothing wrong.

t. Saru

It's enough now.

I don't know who that is. I stopped watching discovery.

He hurt little kids, dude.

He's in the first episode, so right now I'm doubting that you watched it at all.

>Pe- Perrin... Amanda... I - wanted - to give you - so much more. I wanted to show you such... t- t- tenderness. But that is not our way. Spock... Amanda... Did you know? P-Perrin, can you - know... how - much I - love - you? I - do - LOVE YOU!
Why didn't he mention Michael Burnham, his adopted daughter?

As a conosewer of KARA INEK I must say that she's pretty yes, but rather plain

Why do you look the other way and pretend not to notice that he doesn't mention Sybok?

I watched two full episodes mostly spent my time thinking "I can't stand this Michael character. What a fucking Mary sue".

>Sybok
>a son who abondoned the teachings of Surak and ran off to find God
gee, I wonder

Sure.

She is an annoying mary sue character meant to appeal to a retarded generation of young American adults.

...

Nice double standards, my friend. You know Sarek wouldn't stop loving Sybok based on something as trivial as that.

Say what you wish about The Orville, but pictured is the main crew and I can name every single one of them, their likes and dislikes, what motivates them, their origin story and their relationship status. Hell, I can tell you what foods they like to eat.

As a result, I care about all of these characters. I can predict what they will do in a given situation. When the ship is in danger I have an emotional investment in the outcome of these fictional people.

In the Orville, random side characters seen once or twice passing in the hall are given more lines than some of the Discovery's bridge officers. When you focus 90% of your plot on a single character the rest of the show suffers. I don't care about any of the Discovery crew. I barely even care about Saru - does he have a family? Does he have interests? Does he enjoy human food? I'm left knowing nothing and caring even less. This is something STD gets so wrong and Seth gets so right.

Utterly ridiculous.

>You know Sarek wouldn't stop loving Sybok based on something as trivial as that.
>trivial
>the teachings of Surak
>something their entire society is based on
>trivial
nice one, user

racist

Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations

Sarek would be betraying IDIC if he rejected Sybok just for having a differing philosophy.

He deserved to die for this.

Based Damar.

I feel like if the STD writers didn't bother adding more stuff on each character sheets, they've been using the only traits created by Bryan Fuller before he was fired. See the gay couple, their only trait is that they're fags. I wanna bet that it's the first thing Fuller wrote when he started working on the characters.
I agree with you 100% about the Orville's characters. You can see and feel in every episode that these people actually work on the ship, they don't just blink while looking at a LCD screen or press a random button when the camera is filming them like the cardboard characters on STD. On The Orville you can see the crew interact with each other, having fun, like that prologue scene with the karaoke. Also I want to see more of the awkward elevator guy in the second season.

Oh, it's on!

In case you haven't noticed, Vulcans aren't perfect. They're very stuck in their ways as far as their own society goes. In ENT, T'Pau, Archer and T'Pol had to almost die to get the real teachings of Surak to be awknowledged. Sarek was a humanboo, sure, but look at how much he demanded from Spock, his half-Human child. Despite everything, Spock didn't abandon the teachings his Vulcan heritage demanded of him, but Sybok did and Sarek (and I'd say most Vulcans, if not all) isn't a perfect enough person to forgive something like that.

But you're ignoring my original point, I'd say you even tried to ignore it. Why wasn't Michael mentioned?

ok, so what's that bee cube head's character like?

Why is Q the best character in TNG?

socially awkward, but not feeling shameful, h starts small talk with others at inappropriate moment and tries to carry it himself even if ignored
he also likes music in the elevator
and he has been on screen for few minutes total

...

>But you're ignoring my original point, I'd say you even tried to ignore it. Why wasn't Michael mentioned?
Because she wasn't canon yet.

But even if she had been, Sarek is explicitly rejecting Vulcan ways in that line of dialogue. He wouldn't reject Sybok for rejecting Vulcan ways when Sarek is doing the exact same thing. You're a bullshitter with double standards when you pretend otherwise.

beep

Hope that answers your question.

that's dann, he's ebullient, affable, has a light-hearted and casual sense of humor, tries to endear himself to the main crew whenever possible, is sometimes a little too unaware of himself, and he loves music so much that he asked the captain to play a mixtape of his in the turbolifts

Apparently this chick joins Orville cast as a regular starting next season

Do they come in "Extra Fat"?

I'm beginning to think that Fox pays people to advertise Orville in Trek threads.

He's a socially awkward engineer. He wants to be friends with everyone but he doesn't know when to stop.

I love The Orville and FOX ALL ACCESS!

*beep boop beep*

Is she the same one that was getting blacked by soda pop space man?

This is now an Orville thread

*beep boop*

how does he eat? does someone have to follow him around all day and feed him? or does the wheelchair feed him and process his shit into food that he eats the next day and so on and so forth?

*beepety-boopety*

>Because she wasn't canon yet.
oh I see, so you admit to her being a complete farce of a character, unneccessarily made made into the step-child of Sarek because dude, why not, it's not like anything matters.
>Sarek is explicitly rejecting Vulcan ways in that line of dialogue. He wouldn't reject Sybok for rejecting Vulcan ways when Sarek is doing the exact same thing.
How so? Sarek is iirc the only Vulcan we see dying who is also as old as him and suffering from his disease. For all we know, expressing their emotions at this moment is understandable and doesn't go against the Vulcan ways. They still have emotions, deep down, they're not lacking them. The only reason his aide supressed it was to make sure his work got done and because Sarek was growing stubborn. Saying he's going against Surak's teachings then is like asking why some fucker on death row suddenly feels regret for shit he's done.

I don't think so? Can't remember her name but I think she was poo-in-loo

*boop*

>What did you say about me? I'm your "why-fu"?
>*pushes you against the wall*
>Explain yourself, ensign!

Oi! Is that you Artoo?

I heard she is leaving the show

How is she so strong if when her muscles are so small?

>unneccessarily made made into the [...] child of Sarek because dude, why not, it's not like anything matters.
I agree, it was unnecessary and aggravating. But the same is true for Sybok, yet you bullshit about that because you have double standards.

*boop* Get out of my face *beep*

Yay! :)

kill meeeeeee *beeeeeeep*

Tilly gets high off of Volcano smoke next to you and passes out. What do you do?

Push her in the volcano

Just because there's Sybok doesn't mean the writers can pull another sibling from the Mystery Box.

I ask a pack of Klingons if they're into BBW whose skin smells like peanutbutter.

...

But Sybok does mean that Sarek's dialogue doesn't include everybody he loves.

Love isn't conditional. You don't stop loving someone for something trivial like that. I wouldn't stop loving my own son if he converted to another religion. Would you stop loving yours?

>BBW whose skin smells like peanutbutter

So specific

Recommend her for the opium dens command training program.

About 180 degrees, ahead warp 8 Mr. Chekov

Damn it.. did Seth get bored of her supple Jewish body?

mmm peanutbutter

WTF how did this get past Rick Berman?

too skinny

its photoshop.

>t trekkie229

...

There was a rumor that her character was supposed to die in the season finale but they removed the episode because it was written as a series finale.

Please stop posting these. Please, please, please.

You're literally ruining this show and these threads for me.

I'll be a captain one day.

How pathetic is it to try to play a white Whoopie Goldberg?

here's to hoping she gets tar monstered next season

Trekkie229 is a guy who used to post here. Mostly fanart and stuff.

If Tilly dies, I quit watching this shit. Literally only reason to keep plowing through.

Why do people hate him?

youtube.com/watch?v=_CHFtjXc5qo

just watched 'The Fight'

You are Starfleet

>computer, Arch
> William, did you get what you needed to know from the simulation?
> No.. No I didn’t.

She's so cute but her ears are so gross. I hate when they go close up on them.

a bit too much tooth flesh

So let me get this straight, you're mad about Star Trek because it didn't really happen.

haahaahaahahahahahahhahahaahha hes such a dumbo!

These generals used to be good. Now it's all Tilly posting and memes of yesteryear. What have become of us?
