Fucking plebs I swear
>analog NTSC.
its mostly a VHS to Bluray converter
Is VHS any good anyway? Some kid in my school are making a party with these old fuck formats like VHS, cassette tapes and CD to party like it's the 90s, he was telling me that VHS actually have a soul unlike digital formats. Is he right? Should I start collecting to keep it real?
He sounds like a pretentious faggot
he's a fucking dumbass
>having to change the disc halfway through the movie
>2009
I have two VCRs left, one is this neat 1990s Sony one with flip down panel.
Some people use VHS to record audio since its basically a 1/2" magnetic tape (like the old R2Rs). Picture-wise it sucks, BUT its great because you can record instantly, re-record, rewind, etc faster than trying to record a blu-ray disc

top kek lad
It's a cool technology but it's obviously has it's day. Magnetic tape is still used for enterprise data storage though.
If you don't use my car rewinder for your rented tapes you don't know SHIT about late fees
Can you kill him and everyone who attends?
Maybe but chicks love his parties, so I'm heading to a Goodwill
>VHS actually have a soul
No. That said, VHS tapes with recorded shows are really comfy because you get to see the commercials and programming bumps.
>watching recorded Digimon episode
>National Guard commercial comes on
>episode was from June 2001 or thereabouts
>someone watching Digimon might have joined the National Guard just in time to get sent to Afghanistan
Sounds like those vinyl fags on Sup Forums
how much does this cost and where can I get one
I have about 8 adult swim tapes from around 2002-2004 that are super comfy with commercials included. Brings me back to a simpler time
VHS is a horrible format and need to stay in charity shops and your nan's house where they belong
At least vinyls look nice when you put them on display. VHS' are often very ugly
VHS is a great format you fucking dingus, they are recorded on magnetic tape ffs, that means it can actually capture the soul of the recording just like magnetic tapes were used to catch the voice of the ghosts,
that's all i do, really
got a folder of 6,000 adult swim commercials/promos, and every show i like, on a playlist on random
This was before I split my [as] and other cartoons folder, actually, not all of those are adult swim
good times friend
Do you want a myspleen account? Some guy uploads 3 hours~ of footage with commercials of adult swim
I have one actually. I uploaded one of my AS tapes there a few years ago. good site
>myspleen
please I want one
hook a nigga up
upload that shit
My TV tuner card wont work with my new computer. Apparently you need an XP machine for best results. I thought about getting one of those USB capture units but i hear the quality is shit. Either way it will happen somehow
Oh sure, go make a fake 10-minute email and i'll e-mail you an invitation
10minutemail.com
VHS is fun because you can find all sorts of weird shitty old movies for like a dollar, films that were never updated for DVD and can't be found online.
Oh lied. when I click "invites" it tells me "access denied"
i would if I could, man. i don't know why it's saying this. i've used 2 invites before, but it's not letting me access this part. all our ratios are positive
again, sorry, didn't mean to lead you on
[email protected]
thanks
thank you for your service
one of the best torrent accounts i still have
I think I saw this thing at my uncles home one.
I literally wonder how watching movie was before streams?
The only good thing about VHS versions is you are more likely to find certain films in their original state without the filters added to re-releases.
>four hours of Angry Beavers taped with commercials
It's really amazing how big board games were in the 90s
>VHS actually have a soul unlike digital
thats not soul , its just a high noise level. Like audio casette hissss.
Classic.
WTF this has got to be shooped, why would any one want to do this. I remember vhs and digital is far superior, it's not like vinyl.
If any of you are serioulsy thinking the old media formats are worth shit you're fucking retarded.
I understand the nostalgia for the engineering marvels that were cassette playback / recording machines, but you must be fucking blind and deaf to be able to appreciate it's video and audio quality.
The only valid reason for using that junk are old family tapes or some shit (which you should have digitized ages ago before they detoriated).
Its just some hipster who made custom covers.
those fucking things were monsters of engineering
Honestly digital video formats are superior
>scene selection
>menus
>doesn't wear on play
>practically no limit for rewinding speed
>takes less space physically
Yup. vs. todays tiny PCB & cheap plastic disc holding structure and thin as fuck cable bands connecting it all.
deteriorated* >typed too fast in my fit of straightfaced internet rage
This guy gets it. Fuck old media, just give me giganiggerbytes of redundant hard drive space.
NO ONE at all likes VHS tapes or ever liked them. They were a shit format, along with all tapes.
The only nice thing about VHS is seeing the old pre-movie shit and what was being advertised at the time. There's also some kino VHS tapes akin to what Best of the Worst shows off
good stuff
VHS is only good for the kino boxart it produced.
I want VHS-hating soyboys to leave this board.
i want retards and spastics to leave this board but that's life.
anybody that tries to act like they aren't is a delusional nostalgia fag, VHS fucking sucked.
Thank fuck for that also I hate hipsters.
>NO ONE at all likes VHS tapes or ever liked them.
VHS was important for its time (mid 70s) first because you could record and timeshift broadcast TV which was a groundbreaking idea at the time. Then pre-recorded tapes became big and most people who had VCRs did not even use them for recording anymore. VHS was also instrumental in making porno mainstream.
good times
absolutely true
>VHS was important for its time (mid 70s)
mid 70s? you underage nigger don't talk about things you don't know about. laser discs came out before the betamax VHS competition. and it sure as shit did not happen in the mid 70s.
So my roomate that had the ps4 moved out, and i have my old tv/vcr combo. i noticed the vhs are 50 cents and had some good shit. not only that theres some straight to video bad movies im coming across that i wouldn't otherwise. Theres some neat shit you wouldn't be able to see or have otherwise, like a redone version of the original Star Wars Trilogy. I like my vhs tapes and collection. that said, i have more DVDs.
people can sincerely enjoy older formats, tell me I'm wrong.
Seems that invites have been disabled for a few months now.
Widescreen DVD's are the patricians choice for watching kino. VHS crops shit for the 4:3 aspect ratio
I don't miss VHS one single solitary bit.
They were low quality, even for their time. The tape would get stuck or scrunch up, and even that didn't happen, the tape would wear out over time, and not a long time.
Then we have things that make way more sense looking back. Like not having to fucking rewind everytime. Skipping to literally any point in the movie in a heartbeat.
VHS served its purpose, but I have no nostalgic warmth for it.
Does he upload hours of pseudo 80s music to youtube with clips from random tv shows and movies from that era with a vhs filter over them?
>and it sure as shit did not happen in the mid 70s.
VHS and beta were introduced in 1976 , Laserdisc in 1978.
Here's what a VTR looked like in the 70s. 50lbs and $2000
No. Vhs is garbage and tapes deteriorate pretty quickly. Disks or digital media a best
dubs of truth
>tfw watching Blade Driver 2049 on VHS
>tfw kino as fuck
Bluray readers can also read DVDs.
How come digitised analog media, be it captured broadcast TV or a ripped VHS always looks so fuzzy? I regularly watched television on a CRT until 2012 or so and I don't remember the image quality being this bad.
CRTs have a magical quality that somehow makes any signal thrown at it not look like shit.
A couple of things,
One the quality of the capture. these tapes were at the EP/6hr speed which will make it fuzzy.
Second CRTs have a way of blurring a SD signal.
Third, The resolution of the vhs is like 320x240 and youre trying to upscale it to 1080 .you will get sharpness issues
Criterion tried with the DVD/Blu packaging, but watching Videodrome on anything other than a video tape is like missing the fucking point.
