But I do think it's a bit different, since, well, we have all seen tons of Batman before. But Venom not showing Venom sort of means the normie audience are just going to be kinda confused. They'll know it's capeshit, I guess.
It's an origin story. He doesn't even become Venom proper until the third act (which then sets up Carnage too).
First act is him dealing with divorce, homelessness, alcoholism, second act is him getting away from the ebil corporations/gubment, and third act is him beating them up as Venom and some other doctor trying to bond with the symbiote.
