When do they stop?
At what point are they gonna say "well its enough, the story is shit"
I dropped it at end of season 5, liked the ending desu. Just rewatched until season 9 and holy shit its getting ridiculous

>Just rewatched until season 9
Season 9 is shit and made me drop the show. Season 10 is better. Season 11-13 are true upswings and the strongest run yet since Kripke's S1-5
>hardcore fanbase
>actors love what they do
>ratings are ok
Never.
>getting ridiculous
Once it gets past all the Chuck and Metatron shit it gets much better, more monster of the week. The main satan plot arch is terrible though.
>When do they stop?
When the die hards stop watching, or they just cannot be bothered anymore. So another few more seasons.
Season 5 was supposed to be the last season before Kripke was pressured into extending it because CW knew it was a cash cow. That's why Kripke was no longer the showrunner after season 5, he was done with his story and only stayed to advise the new showrunner(s).
This is why all the build up and ending to season 5 is so Kino.
I dont think the actors will get any other roles
at this point they are just "sam" and "dean"
That feel when you found out that Jenson tried out for Captain America and Starlord but had to turn it down because it conflicted with his Supernatural schedule.
>avoiding capeshit
I'm almost proud. Almost cuz he's trapped in his Dean role for good.
dude he would have made a sick starlord
Jensen is in the longest running North American fantasy show. He has carved out his own niche in pop culture. He just had a brewery, guy's set for life. Supernatural is just easy money now.
it really doesnt matter if the show gets better, the whole mythology is depleted. We will never get comfy monster hunting back and the few episodes sprínkled feel pathetic. Like.. really, I'm supposed to care about some werewolf when they just fought a literal God or just had a chat with Lucifer himself?
for me the show died with the leviathans when it turned out that it was just another human suit monster. They hyped it up to be some gigantic prehistoric evil and then it's just another monster-inside-human who quip and want to run companies (lol man, nothing can kill them. stop bothering)
They do a ton of conventions as well, it looks like they've got 18 scheduled for this year and that's not an exceptional amount
>the whole mythology is depleted
S12-13 alone dumps on your post. Sorry, user. It's FAR FROM depleted. They introduced a key plot point recently
>when they just fought a literal God
if you're only on S9, they have not fought a literal God, capital G
Have they fought Cthulu yet?
seems like this might be the next season
>We will never get comfy monster hunting back and the few episodes sprínkled feel pathetic
S11 onwards have MOTWs that are stellar altogether. S11 has one episode shot within or around the Impala that's pure kino and S12-13 have MOTWs that easily fit in S1-5 in terms of quality and storytelling
SAMMY PLS
who, the Entity in the Empty?
Wait, this shit is still going? Christ I barely started puberty when this shit began...
>this shit is still going STRONG
FTFY
Wasn't this bull?
But how? There can't still be monsters left to kill. Have they started overlapping yet or are they just making up their own shit now?
They just opened alternate universes.
They could make another 13 seasons if they wanted.
>holy shit its getting ridiculous
It has been ridiculous since they found the original yellow-eyed demon they were after. It became unbearable after the Lucifer/apocalypse arc. It was supposed to end there, but they figured they could milk it for some more money. Now here we are, years later, with a beaten dead horse.
So the brothers have now taken it upon thenselves to clear out all monsters of all universes? At some point this starts to sound like genocide.
Are the monsters mostly made up in the alternate universes or are they more clever spins on monsters we know?
Swan Song (s5 finale) was meant to be it. I mean, I just rewatched that episode yesterday.
>Whole episode is marked with narration by Chuck, with flashbacks and moments from every other episode
>Real ending feel to it
>Ends with Sam out of the cage
>???
>Show keeps going
>and going
>and going
They're out of ideas. There is no tension or levity anymore, since no one dies. They all come back.
>Have defeated gods, giant villains
>So no tension when they encounter vampires and demons
>Jensen's eyes are dead
>Misha Collins probably has throat cancer from doing that fake voice so long
Season 5 was supposed to wrap it up, why'd they keep it going? Season 1-5 are god tier TV. The rest is meh.
You do have every episode right?
I recognize this pasta
If the backdoor pilot gets picked up they will probably expand the AU's plotline there.
For now they seem made up, but for now we only know two species.
>Tfw you just learnt that the original script for ending the series was the two brothers become the vessels, awaken from the hold of Michael and Lucifer and jump together in the cage.
Stopped at season 8 here. Show was good. But it seems like they should end it
Doesn't Sam have a kid or something is that still a part of the plot.
?
Do you mean Dean? He had a monster daughter for one episode. But he really doesn't though, never did, no matter what the "he's Ben's real dad" fags say.
S1-S5 Supernatural is GOAT, the whole season leading up to the finale gave me serious goosebumps frequently.
I stopped there for like 2 years, but I missed the bros too much so I picked it up again. It's still good fun. It's really uneven quality wise, but intermittently its so fucking good still.
I loves S8 and Abaddon
I loved S11 with Amara
I loved getting GARTH'd
>It has been ridiculous since they found the original yellow-eyed demon they were after.
oh fuck off, Kripke always envisioned the story to run for S1-5
>So the brothers have now taken it upon thenselves to clear out all monsters of all universes?
nu Death was a reaper who wanted the kill for Winchesters for good because she's pissed at their constant resurrections, but once she became promoted, she saw the big picture and literally wanted the Winchesters to stay alive because they still have work to do
>it's a charlie episode
>it's a time travelling episode
>it's a kevin's mom episode
>it's a postmodernist meta episode
He changed some things along the way if I'm not mistaken.
>You do have every episode right?
in DVDs yes
>He changed some things along the way
of course, but the eventual parallels for the good son (Michael) and the rebellious son (Lucifer) was always there from the beginning
Excuse you but the time travel episodes are all good and the meta's hilarious.
Agree on the other two though.
To be fair, she was still pretty begrudging of them being needed to be alive.
>he doesn't like The Monster at the End of This Book
>he doesn't like The French Mistake
>he doesn't like In the Beginning
>he doesn't like The Song Remains the Same
>he doesn't like Frontierland
>he doesn't like My Heart Will Go On
>he doesn't like The Vessel
what a fag
agree on camel episodes though
>stops watching show after season 5
>insists show stop airing and forcing everybody else who still likes to watch show to not have show anymore
When will cancer like you die?
post yfw pic related happened
That same face, you fuckers spoiled me because I was lagging.
Marathoned 12 and just now on 13 after taking a break when 11 ended. It’s definitly what I needed. 12 was pretty except for some Mary stuff like her and Ketch. Last few episodes were amazing. I’m really liking Jack so far, I hope we get more “I wanna be like you, Dad” with Dean
you lazy fuck, this wasn't posted for nearly a week. your fault
Oh yeah I forgot how much this show makes me want a goddamn burger
is this the hobby that whathisname prince of hell said asmodeus had?
watching the show while eating burger and/or pie is my cheat day kind of deal
most likely. or jacking off to the shedim
>I hope we get more “I wanna be like you, Dad” with Dean
i totally agree with this except it's more like big-bro dean since jack considers castiel as his dad.
>burger and pie
thank you, anons. was wondering what to get for my next meal. been a while since i've had pie.
>Jack getting the treatment Adam never did
Somehow it’s pottery
i still want original death to come back. he's the most awesome character in the show.
What do you guys think about Asmodeus getting his shapeshifting powers from Gabriel? Lucifer said he didn't give him those powers and surprise, he's holding the one Archangel that can shapeshift captive.
i love how they're writing jack so far and i hope they continue with that. but i hate hate hate hate with them keeping adam in the cage. i want adam free and not michael-possessing-adam. i want adam free and being friends with his half-brothers maybe becoming a hunter or a man of letters.
#spnFreeAdam
Season 5 is the canon ending.
i just remembered that jack can free castiel from that place where even chuck has no power so he can easily free adam. sam and dean better not forget to ask jack to free adam.
I don't mind people stopping at S5. It makes total sense. S1-5 are the essential Supernatural seasons. The "greatest hits" if you will.
But if you haven't watched past that, give a critique on the latter seasons (especially S11-13) and call out people who have been enjoying them, you should just shut the fuck up
see you cancerous vermin
Dean being to Jack like how John was to Dean is pottery
same but whatever
i think the actor has issues coming back to the show
I recently watched season 12 and it was definitely the most consistent season in a long time. Could have done without the killing Hitler episode but the Molech one basically made up for it.
I watched up until S8 tho. It was OK at most, but it felt like it lost what made supernatural was good after S5.
Really disliked the leviathans.
Hey guys, noob question here
>Castiel throws a molotov at Michael, who is currently possessing Adam
>Doesn't that mean Adam died, and Michael is just wearing the vessel in the cage?
>Jimmy Novak died one of those times Castiel exploded, so the human can die but the angel still retains the form if they want.
>Is Adam dead or what?
In the episode livestream thread, dumbass.
I was just 3 or 4 seconds behind.

Personally I hope they continue as long as they are having fun with it. I'm dropping in and out of the show, usually catching up a bunch of episodes at a time, but the last few seasons have been great and it's just comfy to spend time with dean, sam and castiel
I watched S6-7 and 11 out of curiosity, 8-10 out of obligation, but 12-13 are legitimately making Supernatural Great Again
making SN
Most people hate leviathans and I can't understand why.
Dick was awesome as a villian and the villian corp was a change.
THIS. assholes who impose what they like and not like on others calling on shows to be scrapped just because they stop watching it nevermind others still want to continue watching makes me so angry i go out and REEEEEEE at the moon.
>the Molech one basically made up for it
The Memory Remains is a great episode. Lots of callback to earlier seasons and the case itself could fit in well within S1-5.
>that talk about legacy and them carving their initials on the desk
wew
I always considered Jimmy to be alive because the show was careful to make a distinction that demons can possess dead people but angels need actual permission from a living host, but the show eventually explained Jimmy Novak was already dead. I think they did this on S9, which is chock-full of retarded retcons
>being 3 to 4 seconds behind
that image still wasn't posted until the stream re-aired the episode the hour after
Michael is an archangel, he came back after several minutes. Maybe he prevented Adam from dying too.
Well to be fair, season 6-11 are pretty dogshit. The show deserves its harsh criticism.
>Parallel words
>Evil colonel sanders
>Wonderboy gone rogue
>Tune in next year!
Then it comes out and i get a bunch of broads, shooting ninjas. Does anyone even remotely care? Did i watch a different show by a mistake?
>watched S6-7 and 11 out of curiosity
nice
>8-10 out of obligation
very nice
>12-13 are legitimately making Supernatural Great Again
holy shit, excellent views on the seasons. I generally hate S8-9 the most. S9 especially can rot in the deepest parts of hell
>Most people hate leviathans and I can't understand why
boring shitters who want more angels vs devil bullshit, probably
the vessel (and other humans) can be resurrected by heaven (the angels) or by chuck. it's been stated in the show that sam and dean were resurrected several times by heaven (but their minds wiped of the memory of dying and being resurrected) because heaven needed them for their armageddon project. it's also been stated in the show at least twice that adam is in the cage. dean wanted death to free both sam and adam but death told dean to choose only one brother for him to free and dean chose sam.
criticizing is one thing. calling for a show to stop airing nevermind others who still want to continue watching is another cancerous thing.
Can demons feel love/loyalty? Or is that tortured out of them in hell.
It seems like in the old ones, or the veteran "free agents" who don't want to be someone's lacky - their humanity kinda regrows.
I mean Crowley still enjoyed aspects of human life. Like sitting at a bar with drinks, ladies and stuff. He wouldn't gut someone just because, unless they were literally in his way or had something he wanted. He honored his deals and such.
Meg got softer and softer, and in the end she was downright noble.
>season 6-11 are pretty dogshit
nah, I won't group them all together like that
S6-7 may have poor MOTWs but the mytharc is excellent and coherent. Besides, S6 alone has more iconic and memorable episodes than S8-9
>The French Mistake
>Frontierland
>My Heart Will Go On
>Mommy Dearest
S8-9 have better MOTWs but really poor mytharcs, garbage pacing, no sense of direction, arcs getting dropped all of a sudden with little to no pay off.
S10 is a bit of an improvement but S11 starts the first true improvement especially in both mytharc and MOTW department
>that image still wasn't posted until the stream re-aired
I WAS watching the episode live with everyone on Sup Forums, but my stream was lagging several seconds behind. Everyone started posting
>GABRIEL
>OMG it's Gabriel
Seconds after, I see IN THE LIVESTREAM that it was Gabriel indeed.
I was kind of mad.
dean was acting drill-sargeant-john to jack in only one episode but he warmed up to jack. he can now be big-brotherly to jack.
You saw a backdoor pilot.
You did indeed watch a different show.
>Obama was a canon president in Supernatural
>When they make the president a character they use someone who is neither Trump nor Obama
>Make Trump canon president with that one girls comment
How did they manage to screw up this bad?
THE ONLY SEASON THAT TRULY SUCKS IS THE FUCKING LEVIATHANS
YET IT STILL HAS A FEW EPISODES THAT KICK ASS
was it season 9 when they revealed that heaven can remote-control and memory-wipe angels and that heaven has been doing this for millenia? i HATED that because it's a MASSIVE SERIES-WIDE PLOT HOLE. if they could do that then why didn't they remote-control castiel when he first went against heaven and sided with sam and dean? i also hated that amanda tapping made castiel kill that handsome angel. ;_;
Why do so many people hate on seasons 8 and 9? The trials Sam went through were really cool and explored lore that they hadn't touched on yet. Also Kevin was a really good character. The finale of 8 (Sacrifice) was pure kino. I guess season 9 had a shitload of angel stuff so if you don't like that I can understand but the civil war in heaven was pretty cool imo. Cas got a lot of great episodes in 8 and 9 which is good, because he's really underutilized and just wants to help humanity and keep the peace among his own kind.
Tv writers are a special kind of stupid
That's a good point. It would have fit well in the fifth season. But that's what I like about the show continuing is they can include mythology and ideas they'd have never gotten to in a short run.
Overall season 12 is probably one of the best seasons. The British hunters helped flesh out the world a lot by showing that even though the American hunters are isolated and old school they're still the world's best hope.
user, really though it was a livestream thread. what were you expecting. besides, even the start of the thread people were going "i miss Gabriel" or some shit like that
well we've still only seen two-three episodes of them interacting but sure
>Does anyone even remotely care?
you mean with how we saw an actual gigantic monster, a monster with actual prosthetics and not just CGId eyes or claws, and how their potential overarching villain may be just as, if not more, interesting than our main show's?
Another great episode from 12 is American Nightmare written by Davy Perez. Felt like classic Supernatural until Catch showed up at the end and fucked it all up
>what were you expecting.
Not lagging.
>He likes the faggot 200th episode
calling others fags when you're a literal bathhouse tier cum guzzler.
afa people who are whining the show dropped after season 5 (or at least 6-10), these episodes justify watching the show and dealing with the lesser quality episodes:
> Party on Garth
>The French Mistake
>My Heart Will Go On
>Hunteri Heroici
>Dog Dean Afternoon
>Season Seven, Time For a Wedding
>Fan Fiction
>All the finales
>Probably twenty more
The whole Becky and shitting on the stereotypical convention shit is top notch too
And I mean who doesn't want to see Dean start acting like a dog because of some shaman and spend the whole episode like that?
Oh and a lot of kickass Bobby moments
the massive series-wide plot hole in
S7 aged well. Give it another try
>was it season 9 when they revealed that heaven can remote-control and memory-wipe angels and that heaven has been doing this for millenia?
S8. S9 introduced the "reapers are angels" bullshit, changed the angels' true forms from blinding white light to "lel bright blue demon smoke", another angel would like to use another angel's vessel. Not to mention it also had fucking BLOODLINES in it
>The trials Sam went through were really cool and explored lore that they hadn't touched on yet
dropped without payoff. They had the chance to close the gates of hell but no Dean had to be a fucking pussy about it. And this is coming from an user who idolizes Dean
>Kevin was a really good character
guise, i cant read these for 15 minutes per episode and rinse and repeat. oh wait, he's suddenly dead and stowed under the carpet just like the rest of the tablet arc
>season 9 had a shitload of angel stuff so if you don't like that I can understand
why should we care about literally-who faction leaders?
>civil war in heaven was pretty cool imo
S6 did this better
>Cas got a lot of great episodes in 8 and 9 which is good, because he's really underutilized and just wants to help humanity and keep the peace among his own kind.
Castiel getting depowered or human was touched on several times before and it was clear that the writers were forcing angel storylines just to keep Castiel around. Castiel is best when he serves the story and not when the story serves to keep him around. Because it becomes glaringly obvious when he is shoehorned in
>Not liking ep.200
SHIT TASTE
i didn't include the fucking 200th episode, faggot!!
