Saves horror genre
I've almost watched it a few times, but it didn't seem all that good from the trailer.
for me the whole movie delivers the same vibe as the trailer sets
for me, McChicken
>that ending
>that monster
>that "le natural light"
wrong
>this post
wow
I can't believe nobody cares that it is 99% a blair witch (remake) rip off.
That said I really liked it. the demon corpses in the room he set fire to was creepy and a bad ass scene
It´s really nothing special but definitely worth a watch if you´re into horror in general
Those robbers in the beginning scenes were scarier than Monster Bambi.
>both take place in the woods
>lmao blair witch ripoff
retard
>shills another scam
>not on netflix uk
pass
It's nothing like Blair Witch except that bad stuff happens to some dudes while in the forest.
Loved this movie until the abrupt ending. Good vibe and the creature was creepy as shit with those weird eyes. Then it just ends
retard
This was absolutely god awful. Beautiful landscape. Still had absolutely no atmosphere or tension given the inherently intimidating setting.
Yay, another flavor-of-the-month Horror movie that ISN'T like any Horror movie -- except it is and people pretend it isn't because they've only watched 10 Horror movies in their life.
refute any of those points.
There are no points in that post
Refute what points
>guys the runes in the woods are nothing like the witch charms in BWP
>guys the creepy old house that they retreat to in the rain is nothing like the creepy old house they retreat to in bwp
>guys turning on each other is nothing like the turning on eachother in bwp
>guys the hearing stuff outside your tents and people going missing from them is nothing like the same exact fucking thing happening in bwp
>guys the-
fuck yourselves
It was good but let’s not get carried away
Go in with a lovecraftian knowledge and you'll appreciate what they're going for more
They will be the fistful of dollars of the future. Not that it's bad, but people will praise its originality without knowing it's a remake/ripoff. sad.
lol ok you got me, I'll play fair.
>the ending was generic and adolescent, like any other flavor of the week horror movie. I expected some interesting turn of events with the cult and the jotunn(considering the MC was chosen which opens up to a million interesting possibilities) but they went "lol and the hero wins".
>the monster itself wasn't bad from the original concept(but I have a soft spot for cults and mythology) but they just dropped the mystical and psychological aspect of it half way through and it became just a big monster movie, in which you just run to escape it, and the only stake is a quick death in the woods.
>you can't see shit at some points.
was like a shitty version of sauna made for americans/brits
not in south america either
ill have to torrent it i guess i hope i dont get disappointed
It borrowed from a few different horror movies. The Blair Witch influence was minimal. The being lost aspect / marks on the trees were the only similarities. Tons of horror movies do that.
The only real difference is they show the bad guy and the dude escapes.
It would be a better movie without them. Or at least having the monster kill him.
>actually comparing the Ritual to the Dollars trilogy
jesus fucking christ
The creepy house is not the same. Is any cabin in the woods a reference to BWP? Only similarities are lost in the woods / runes on trees. It certainly borrowed a little bit, but that's all. This movie is explicitly about a cult and an old god and about guilt. Blair witch was about crazy rednecks killing lost film students making a docu about a witch.
Gist of the film: OY VEY WHY WON'T THESE DIRTY FOREST GOYS WORSHIP ABRAHAMIC DEITIES
anti-pagan trash
What on earth are you on? None of the characters are religious and god is never mentioned. How did you get an abrahamic message?
>actually being a neopagan
LOL
>Blair witch was about crazy rednecks killing lost film students making a docu about a witch.
...
I mean, it could have been a witch...but what is more likely?
>loki is real and there jotunn roaming the universe
>lol I'll just axe it in the face
the lack of imagination of movie makers is astounding. It's really disappointing and turns me off of movies a bit,
won't lie, I got a bit of pagan hating too
>look at these savages sacrificing people, unlike us noble christians
>*sips god's blood*
>rednecks can alter time and reality
Same likelihood as the monster in Ritual being some guy in a costume
