I recently finished the whole series, i dont see how seeing s4 in piece or all together wouldve heightened its quality.
I guess it must hurt as a fan. To watch an episode, and somehow enjoy it, only to wait weeks for another 3 episodes. Only to have to wait again.and again.
But what was good about season 4? I only saw stories that went nowhere and characters who were dumb as bricks.
The Zoo arc and when aquamarine and topaz showed up. Those where great. Because,you know,actual story happened. The zoo arc felt like it was nothing because after those episodes, we got a bunch of filler. If from the zoo arc we would have jumped straight into the good lars, the last batch of episodes would have been a good finale. But nope, we gotta see steven hanging around with onion.

Yeah, I think the townie episodes are hit-and-miss but it feels like they'd be easier to get through if the show was released on more weekly basis.
I hate steven universe. I say this as a person who's studied animation , that the models are so solid shape-based and rigid that it is impossible to make proper fluid animation for it that is clean on the eyes. It goes against all beauty in animation. The ugliness of the designs themselves, even the "attractive characters" is just disgusting and a disappointment to anyone who has ever studied the art of animation. It's funny, even little kids pick up on this. Everytime this is on TV my little sister screams "turn it off, it's ugly" and cries until we change the channel, in which I truly feel second hand embarrassment every time. My little sister is now 9 and she still does this.

just started season 4 after a not so good season 3. the filler episodes really drag the show down and season 4 is supposedly even worse than 3 in terms of them. I did enjoy watching Jasper get fusion AIDS like some user said she did.

I think the main problem people have is that steven comes across an annoying retard in both cases, adding more powers didn't really help his character. You can make an useless character that's no good in combat and make it work, you can make a powerful moral fag, that's fine too, the problem is that his mindset is completely off tone with his position and in that regard it hasn't change one bit, he's too childish and shallow for the situation he's in and that makes it not interesting and its really annoying becouse by all means it should be interesting.
Its like this, imagine walking up to fat little Steven and ask him "Hey steven, what do you think about war?" and his answer would be something like "Well, i think war is bad!" and that is his whole tesis on the subject, just saying "War is bad!" is a safe non-answer that solves nothing and its as insightful as "Evil is wrong!", not that even a character with a shallow point of view can't be good but becouse he's the main character (and becouse the writers are hacks) everyone has to sink BELOW his level of understanding and morals so he can come out on top making every character more stupid that a 12 year old retarded simpleton
Depends. If you like shounen, it's a brain-dead but fun diversion. Original Dragon Ball is light-hearted old-school adventure. Dragon Ball Z gets into the whole shounen, escalating power levels and drawn-out battle thing, but it is pretty hype at times. You won't feel as much for the characters if you haven't seen the original DB though. Pretend Dragon Ball GT never happened. Dragon Ball Super feels too much like they just kept things going because it brings in the moolah, the characters just don't feel right anymore.
Maybe read the manga up to the part where Dragon Ball Z starts (when Raditz shows up), then watch DBZ Kai which is remastered and cuts out some useless filler.
I was hooked on it as soon add I heard it was being headed by someone who worked on Adventure Time, but I got less interested when it felt like the story arc was being stretched apart by the normie episodes. The real time wait between Bombs also didn't help, and the constant emotional breakdowns also didn't help.
