There's one mildly funny joke the show does that I enjoyed. Very tame stuff, but they did a joke like this twice:

a character says some bland stereotype like "Jews love to complain!" or "Asians are good at math!" to a Jew/Asian, cut to other family members looking nervous, and then the Jew/Chinese in the scene will go "it's true!"

Saw a few clips on Youtube. Definitely more watchable than TBBT.
No laugh track, no faux-nerd bullshit and the kid can act much better than his adult counterpart. If it wasn't for the voice-over narration by old Sheldon there would be no connection.
