Working on a new comic and I never have the guts to post my stuff on here for some reason. Does Sup Forums think this looks cool or corny?

Also.

Also also.

Looks great.

Thanks dogbert.

Good shit

I like it, it kinda reminds me of schoolhouse rock.

Looks neat, green guy kinda looks like an ork

When I started drawing I was super into that and Rocky and Bullwinkle. Glad is shows through still!

Kult of Speed was the best.

:3 thanks guys.

Looks pretty cool user.

Really dig it too

Reminds me of Andrew McLean a lot. Cool shit.

pretty good sans the infected looking ears

Post more, faggot

>TUMBLRRRRRR NOSEEEEES

Thanks. I will definitely post the pages here when the issues come out.

Andrew is the reason I am trying something that is less gag comic and webcomic than I usually do. He is an angel and inspiration.

Looks pretty good user.

I've only done a few pages of sketches since I am Midway on another book right now.

I will def tone down the darkness on them. Good looking out.

Looks like something that would be good for a scholastic YA book.

I'm serious, shit'd probably be way lucrative.

Thanks. I have a lot of friends who have worked for companies like that and I don't have the patients to deal with them. I just want to draw six issues and maybe I can see if someone wants to collect it then. Bigger companies are the worst to work with.

You should probably either make the foreground objects have slightly bolder lineart, or change the colors just a bit.

The desaturated colors are good, but they blend in a little too much in certain parts, which is why i think bolder line art might work better. Maybe use pitch black style shading in certain parts with limited cross hatching.

Also, you have good poses, but you could probably push them just a little bit more to be dynamic.

Your design sense is pretty on point. My only suggestion would be to push the designs a little more to see how unique you can make them look, since they still fall into some contemporary trappings you'd be better off avoiding.

You could probably just finish it and pitch it as a miniseries, image would be a good start since its creator owned. Collection would be better for a webcomic if that's the route you're going for, and you should think about how much you wanna space out the updates depending on the kind of story you want to tell.

Good luck, dude, you've def got talent, it's rough around the edges, but it's talent nonetheless.

Me gusta

Any specific trappings I am doing that you can point out? And I can def push some of the action poses. It's just totally new for me. I have been drawing a slice of life trade for the last year and it's a big change. This is all new to me. Thanks for the input!

Giving me some serious Ben Sears vibes.

S' a good thing though

Very cool.

Pretty minor stuff, just that the character's facial proportions and symbols seem pretty done-before. The soft scott pilgrim features, the flat demiure meant to charm with simplicity, the mouth looking like basically every cartoon network character's mouth. The design concepts themselves aren't bad, I do like that the boy and dog have matching closed eyes. It's just that some of it seems executed in a way that plays it way more safe than i think it needs to be.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, though, cause the designs are definitely good and functional, but I'd say you should bake it in the oven a little more and experiment on the construction of your characters a little more, and try to find the poses that really set them apart and amplify them so they feel more your own.

Maybe experiment with some background characters and see how far out you can take their designs, like the old man in who looks like a pen ward drawing, desu. Make him weird, give him a weird identifiable silhouette, play around. Exaggerate something about it so it feels like more of a character.

Shot in the dark, you ever see robotomy? Similar kind of apocalyptic killer robots setting, you might get some decent inspiration from that. Same team that worked on Superjail.

Interesting style choices. I can dig it, keep it up, and start posting comic pages as soon as you can.

This cartoon looks awesome. And yeah, my visual vocabulary is pretty limited. I haven't been drawing super long and wasn't really interested in cartoons before I was pretty old. I will def use the background characters to play around.

Looks neat user.

Good, you're pretty much nearly there as it is so as long as you keep expanding your library you'll improve in no time, man.

Also realized your art also vaguely reminds me of doug tennapel's work on the neverhood, that might be up your alley as well

Do you have a blog I could follow?

I was gonna add my two cents, but this guy's done the legwork for me.

You got some cool stuff going on here, but definitely push it all a bit more. I like the first image you put up, it's got that kind of composition I associate with 70s/80s manga that's making a resurgence. Gives me some Dragonball vibes too, more I think about it.

On that note, maybe give the original Dragonball a read through if you haven't already. Take note of the characters designs. Each has a unique silhouette and overall design without blending together, even though characters like Goku, Krillin and Oolong essentially have the same height and stature.

Excited to see what you do with this, man. Post up the comic ASAP, alright?

Looks rad, give me a plot dump.

@pleasekeepwarm on insta and sometimes twitter. :3

Dragonball is my current thing. Def gonna see if I can digest some of it for myself. I will def post it here. The plan is to do it monthly for six months starting in January.

Looks like some steven universe tumblr crap

Yeah, the only thing that looks off for me are those ears. Shirt looks like a potato bag.
I'm reminded of those flip-o-rama books, like Captain Underpants or that one book Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robo.

>red nose
>fucking red ears
readiation turned him into a calarts monster

this is gonna be wonky because I havent really filed it down to it's base.

Robots invented by a brilliant scientist plan a revolt and escape from a lab and start replicating, but instead of helping take the robots down the scientist rebuilds his child's body that was damaged in the escape (the main guy) eventually the humans build devices that destroy robotics and electric current stuff (gotta research this stuff) and live in a pre industrial society on the coast while the inner country is now full of roaming robots and the main character can't hang out with society partly because the emp things will kill them, but also self blame about being saved. His friends are a dog and a weird older guy who is really into Emerson and transcendentalism. The story I am working on is about them fighting a group of criminals who are outcast from normal human society I think. Spending the next few months really boiling it down and outlining.

>Sup Forums being helpful and supportive to a new artist

I like my dogs! Haha

Yeah. I did not see this thread being so constructive. It's a pleasant surprise.

They're being helpful and supportive because it's good art, user. If he posted deviantart shit, he wouldn't have lasted a single reply without getting ass-blasted, new or not.

Dawgs

Oh, I thought they were foxes kinds of things, honestly.

Sounds like pretty neat backdrop to that small-town feel I'm getting from some of those drawings. I know you're still early in the planning phase, but are you thinking of keeping it concise and focused mostly on only a couple of settings outside of civilisation, or are you thinking on having it be more like a big adventure?

>tumblr nose
>tumblr ears

I'm being 100% unironically serious when I ask you this. Why? Why do you have to do this? Is it autism?

Thats fair. Haha I draw things all kind of the same way.

If starts out in a suburb but I would like to do a lot more books. This is just trying to get six issues out, show a few editors I know and see if I can get an okay creator owned contract or just keep doing it with the company I do stuff with now. I definitely want to show the characters living in and changing an environment though. I want them to escort someone back to people at some point, maybe in this one? I have a history of just doing my first idea and I wanna let this one brew for a bit.

Might me undiagnosed. I don't use Tumblr though. Feel free to send me references of cool shit I can look at.

It looks fucking rad man. Getting those Sam Bosma, Clandestinauts, Brandon Graham vibes.

OP the other anons are right about the red nose/red ears thing, but you got some good inking skills. Nice width variation and texture while still being readable. 8/10

Thanks doggy!

Yeah. I am going to play with s.much lighter pink. I like the separation, but my choices were pretty drastic.

Also found this. I hate being mid project and having a cooler idea.

Also I really appreciate this thread. I feel like my friends and followers can blow smoke up my ass but I trust Sup Forums. I think a fear of that is was kept me from posting for so long.

Really like that sound fx

Why does he have the arm ,does the give him powers

Came here to post this. It's the jaw that really evokes the image.
