I've finally just seen picrelated. And holy shit it was bland and terrible, what the fuck is up with all those positive reviews? I feel lied to.

>it's a tom hardy tries to meme episode

You got what you deserved, OP

normies praise literally anything with a fast script

>feminist shit
>gets great reviews
Gee, I can’t figure out why

of course its only superficially feminist
the women in the movie are retarded and make everything worse

It was literally one of the best movies in recent memory.

Sorry you didn't enjoy Warhammer's Orks™: The Movie,

>feminists script

Here come the brainlets.

Joe finds himself in the desert; creates hierarchical, organized, functional industrial society that has water and food on command as well as medicine

The women find themselves in fertile territory, far away from people like Joe, and in their hands it turns to desert and nearly everyone dies.

It's no more feminist that The Road Warrior

Atleast you got some decent action, huh.

>Get btfo with Moon (gay and black)
>Get btfo with Ghostbusters (women)
>Get btfo with TLJ (women)
>Get btfo with Black Panther (black)

Question: how do polweenies manage to take all these punches without going down and staying down? Your idiotic and regressive ideas and views are not the status quo anymore. In fact the whole world is celebrating diversity why you bitter cuckolds are sat here thinking you'll get to change the world in your favour by organising raids on Rotten Tomatoes user scores and praising "kek". Unironically dunk yourself through a noose and neck yourself.

I tried it back when torrents came out
>who is this guy?
>who is this chick?
>what society is this, how does it work?
>what rituals are they talking about?
>"Hah, fuck you, just watch this 1,5 hours long chase sequence"

>hardy
>big bam bam boom boom
what's not to like?

Would you rather have everything be a sausagefest then having five attractive women sitting around half-naked in the movie?

stop watching movies

this is the movie that made me stop trusting rottentomatoes. i fell asleep watching this in the theater so there was no way to get my money back

I already did. TV is better

I think it's one of those movies you have to see in a theatre to get the full experience.

Sorry you missed out lol.

I saw this in theaters and got a handjob during it. I had a constant boner the entire time.

>10/10 soundtrack youtube.com/watch?v=xllG3fSUAOw
>a fuckton of practical effects
>great visual world building
>warboys
>great acting by Nicholas Holt
>muh cinematography
>no shaky cam/billion cuts bulshit action
>constant anti deus ex machina

It was a good action movie. Not some masterpiece, but we don't get GOOD easily nowadays. So it's hailed as the second coming of Jesus.

I’d rather have a Mad Max movie and not some feminist executive’s self-insert.

did you at least give him a hand job too?

>didn't see it in theaters
>thinks he's entitled to an opinion
Lol

>paying for movies, ever

>People still going for the "fury road is feminist" dmeme
I can see why you sad fucks hates jews soo much...you guys just Keep falling for the Easiest tricks they Keep pulling

I can see why you'd be so jaded and bitter watching all your media hunched over a computer screen while shitposting

how is this movie gay and black?

why do you care what reddit thinks? are you unable of forming your own opinions

6/10

calling this feminist shows what a non-critical brainlet you are

Just putting it out there.

I think it's a 6-7/10 decent flick but not as great as people make it out to be.

>waaaaaaaaaaah there are women in my action movie this is some feminist sjw shit forced by the joooooz

>celebrating diversity
what did he mean by this?

>In fact the whole world is celebrating diversity
false, western media and it's drones are celebrating diversity. wait a while and we will have more "celebrated rainbow nations" like south africa

It's probably one of the best films in existence.

The absolute state of Sup Forums

Mad Max: Fury Road was bretty gud :DDDDD

>someone took the time to make this

The movie is about a patriarch, who milks women in factories, losing his sex slaves. His sex slaves (whom he uses primarily for breeding) come back with an army of matriarchs (called The Many Mothers) to defeat him. The ending is a group of women being taken up to what is ostensibly the patriarch's throne room, which symbolizes their take over. The film literally couldn't be more feminist if it tried. Why does Sup Forums insist on denying the film's politics?

Fuck off tripfag. The Many Mothers were starving to death in a desolate wasteland before they were saved by Mad Max. Even the literal Mary Sue, Furiosa, had no ambitions beyond escape. The film portrays Max and his masculine audacity as their hero.

because if you interpret them outside of the accepted dialect then actually the women look and are total fucking idiots. Think for yourself

This is an interpretive justification you're making in order to reconcile your misogyny with the fact that a film you like espouses feminist ideology. Furiosa is the person who saves them, not Mad Max. He's basically a side character in his own film. The film also clearly portrays Joe as the feminist conception of an evil patriarch (uses women as sex slaves, is concerned with breeding and producing male offspring, hoards material wealth), and all of the heroes except for two are women. The film wasn't hailed as a feminist masterpiece for no reason.

the only good part was the storm and sfx.

What made me mad in this movie is total disregard to the fucking movie universe
Like literally everyone is poor and imporvished hobo, but that whore seems to think that saving those poor womyn (who have it the best of all) is somehow logical

>if you think it's wrong to abuse women, you must be a feminist
kill yourself

To this point:
>women being taken up to what is ostensibly the patriarch's throne room, which symbolizes their take over

Max delivered the women to the throne room. Max delivered the women who couldn't keep fucking paradise green to a room demanding skills and competence they clearly lacked.

If anything, Max's delivery of the women to the throne room is a delivery of that which will destroy Joe's kingdom. It's a huge "fuck you, joe, for kidnapping me and trashing my ride"

>he's basically a side character in his own film
This line is a dead giveaway that the poster in question has never seen another mad max movie and doesn't know what they're talking about

i mean you dont have to be a genius to find out, it made to little money, they were expecting atleast 1.8b, but they cut way short, for what its worth, we can expect a lot differnt part 3.

you didn't watch it on the big screen

>Warhammer's Orks™: The Movie
This.

T.brainlet

>Furiosa's plan is to run away to her old home
>finds out her home was destroyed while she was gone
>decides to run away some more
>max gets a conscience and convinces her and the other women in tow that's stupid and going to get them killed, here's a better plan; double back, Joe will never expect this.

Keep crying about feminism ruining your movies, Max is clearly the hero of the story still. Being a silent protagonist doesn't mean he's relegated to a side-role, it just means he's that, silent.

>Watching movies in a 17" laptop
The absolute state of nu/tv/

>>if you think it's wrong to abuse women, you must be a feminist
You're a legit peabrain. Thinking that the women were victims isn't what's feminist, it's creating a universe where women are victimized to that degree in order to make a statement about TODAY that's feminist. Do you have any idea what a parable is?

>Max delivered the women who couldn't keep fucking paradise green to a room demanding skills and competence they clearly lacked.
That's an interesting interpretation, but clearly not intentional. It was intended to be a happy, triumphant ending. The film gives no indication that those women are going to ruin that society as well. George Miller himself calls the film feminist.

This

Actually, I dislike the film intensely and a small part of the reason is because of how it wraps the misogynistic status quo in the guise of feminine empowerment. But it seems to have fooled you pretty well.

Furious didn't save them. Not even close. She was about to lead them across a desert with no idea of how far the other side was. If they hadn't run into Max, they would have all died. It's a stock standard Hollywood "women get in over their heads and gallant man bails them out" film.

>Keep crying about feminism ruining your movies,
The reason you disagree with my (and everyone else's) political interpretation of the film is because you see it as an attack on the film as a work of art. You can't reconcile liking a film that espouses an ideology you abhor.

>It's a huge "fuck you, joe, for kidnapping me and trashing my ride"
That's what I thought, too. Was spending the whole movie asking "why the fuck hasn't Max gotten revenge for his sweet ride being stolen and shit?".
Then he dropped off those blackthumbs into the one place that we saw that, as you say, "demanding skills and competence they clearly lacked". All was right after that.
Especially that little smirk when he turns around and walks away.

>The film gives no indication that those women are going to ruin that society as well.
>The women turned a, presumably, lush groud into a fucking swamp. A whole region - not just a cabbage patch.
Sure thing, Anita.

You're incredibly stupid. She's the one who came up with the idea to go back and fight them off. She had the vehicle they did everything in. Max was a detour. Hux helped them more than Max.

>>The women turned a, presumably, lush groud into a fucking swamp. A whole region - not just a cabbage patch.
I'm sure that had nothing to do with the ecological politics of the film. I'm sure it was just a group of grandmas who made that whole land infertile.

>Thinking that the women were victims isn't what's feminist, it's creating a universe where women are victimized to that degree in order to make a statement about TODAY that's feminist.

>women are victimized
>which is why they can own property
>can vote
>can receive an education
>can run for and hold public office
>enjoy all the same civil rights that men enjoy
>are so privileged that media witch hunts are launched in their favor

There's no statement about (((TODAY))) that's being made, dumbfaggot. It's fictional conflict that drives the plot. Unless Joe is supposed to represent Muslims, you've got no case.

Thanks tripfag. You made it clear that you have no idea what you're talking about. I re-watched the scene just now and Max is clearly the one that came up with the idea. I won't give you any more of my time.

test

In fairness, it was worth watching on the big screen. Some great action and stunts.
Just think of it as road warrior 2.0 without so much dialogue.
Nux and Furiosa were good, and I liked hardy as max. Immortan Joe isone of the better villains to come out of movies in a while.
The car-porn was all tip-top too, and war rig deserved an oscar for best supporting role.
But just goes to show how dangerous expectations can be I guess.

In what world did women stopped complaining after we gave them those rights? It's a parable about men's control over women's reproduction, sort of like The Handmaiden's Tale and how that gets propped up as some sort of feminist dystopia that speaks to the politics of today, despite not accurately representing our current society in any way. Every writer with a published position managed to catch that. I'm fucking astonished that people are still managing to argue otherwise.

Beat me to it.

Besides the first movie, the focus has never been on Max, he has always been a character that wandered into other peoples stories whilst HE just wants to be left alone.

OP, get some taste, and some sense, it's no Road Warrior, but its a good film.

As for the feminist stuff, The womens plan was to head out into the salt flats, that was it, they would have died until Max gave them a better solution. The many mothers were also not much better than any other bandits, add to that they pretty much all got killed before the end too.

He does tell them to go back, my bad. He tells a group of 15 women (and no men) to go back and fight off an army of dozens of men (and no women). But it has nothing to do with gender, i'm sure.

What ideology is that? That woman can't do fuck all without the male character?

Because that is what this film showed.

Sup Forums is autistic and only likes movies that has niggers in it

don't even try arguing with them, they'll argue against feminism to sound like Sup Forums but all they are is a bunch of /r9k/ dweeb turbo virgins raging against woman

Mad Max Fury Road was and is the best Mad Max movie and best movie of that year

I'll say it again, Sup Forums is fucking autistic and on a sidenote overtaken taken by shills doing marketing for capeshit and disney, that's all you see here anyway 24/7, star wars disney trash and capeshit.
that's all what's being advertised here by so called """""people""""

>It's a parable about men's control over women's reproduction,

Kill yourself, my man. Men have a stake in women's reproduction, and hence have a right to some negotiated control, because without men reproduction can't happen. To lump exclusive rights to reproduction into the woman's camp is already have a warped understanding of reproduction, sexual reality, and human nature.

Basically, you're reading your retardation into the film and sperging out that others here aren't retarded like you are. This is a problem. Solve it with suicide, please.

Max helps them. He's not the gallant protagonist who single-handedly determines the fate of each individual woman.

>they'll argue against feminism to sound like Sup Forums but all they are is a bunch of /r9k/ dweeb turbo virgins raging against woman
I liked the movie you fucking mong. I'm just tired of people claiming that it isn't feminist when it clearly is.

>Men have a stake in women's reproduction,
Who the fuck is arguing otherwise? I'm talking about feminist ideas concerning reproduction (most feminists see biological paternity and actual paternity as distinct; they think it's a woman's right to disentangle those two things). I'm not arguing in favor of the film's ideology. You'd have to be an actual retard to think that that's what i'm doing.

>you're reading your retardation into the film
I can post like 10 article from mainstream publications that say the same shit. I didn't pull that particular interpretation of the film's politics out of my ass.

>a film where the man doesn't do literally everything for the women must be feminist
Setting the bar this low for feminism is making you look more and more like the misogynist here.

>who single-handedly determines the fate of each individual woman
...and yet had Max not mentioned going back, to them...they would have all rode out into the salt flats and died.

Max is still the main protagonist, just because he doesn't spout mahvel quips or cool one liners or hog most of the screen time, he is still the protagonist that can double as an audience insert.

We follow Max as he wanders into other peoples problems, along the way he often reluctantly ends up helping them, often screwing himself in some way or ending up worse off for it, but he still has some humanity left in him.

He just so happens to be a man of few words, like every Mad Max film besides the original.

You are seeing feminist stuff in the film because you want to, for the sake of it, forgetting that Mad Max has always had strong female characters in it, but also a very harsh world to survive in, "feels" or anything don't come into it.

Take Max out of the film and you'd end up with all of the women being dead.

What makes the film feminist is that it portrays a world where the gender dynamics allow the film's story to exist as a parable for men's control over women (in terms of sex and reproduction). It's precisely what makes The Handmaid's Tale feminist.

>a lot of other people are retarded like me so i'm not wrong

The film doesn't have that ideology just because manic women heave it onto the film.

>masked dude has a harem
>idiots think that is some statement "contemporary problems" that in fact do not exist at a significant scale
>attention-whoring tripfag says they're right and won't shut the fuck up about it on an anonymous image board

You couldn't be more obnoxious if you got an instagram and cut your dick off.

Reminder do not respond to tripfags ignore tripfags

>joe represents all men
>even max
>who himself represents men's control over women
>because without max the women wouldn't survive
>nor would they assume joe's power
>so it's feminist because it shows how useless women are without men, and that's a bad thing

Nothing you say makes sense.

Max is an intruder into their story. Sure, he helps them achieve their goal at the end, but he decides to do so out of pure empathy, not because he has any sort of direct connection to their plight.

>You are seeing feminist stuff in the film because you want to, for the sake of it
I know this sounds like an appeal to authority, but it's not me who's seeing the "feminist stuff," it's the entire critical apparatus that saw the "feminist stuff." Even George Miller talks about the ideological undertones of the film.

Movie goes to shit when the lesbian grandmas show up.

Why they chose a Mad Max film to be a champion of current political ideologies baffles me.

>anons in thread challenging claim that the film is feminist
>tripfags agrees that it's not feminist; just that feminists claim it is
>argues against anons, despite agreeing with this

???

you watched it on your phone didn't you

>Max is an intruder into their story. Sure, he helps them achieve their goal at the end, but he decides to do so out of pure empathy, not because he has any sort of direct connection to their plight.
literally the plot of MM2 and MM3

>I'm just tired of people claiming that it isn't feminist when it clearly is.
so what "feminism" you talking about?
the useless woman that needed rescuing or the furiousa character that was established as a solid driver from the start yet is not completely a mary sue like Rey or other shit chars,
face it she fit into the world, the fact she was a woman pisses your virgin ass off

besides every mad max movie apart the first one hasn't really been around mad max himself, in 2 it was about the band of small band of people vs humongus, in 3 it was about town vs kids, in 4 it was furiousa vs joe

>>joe represents all men
No one is saying this. In order to portray a feminist gender dynamic not every character of a particular gender has to be an ideological example of that gender. The Uncle Tom narrative exists.
>>even max
see above
>>who himself represents men's control over women
He doesn't, though.
>>because without max the women wouldn't survive
Without the women he wouldn't have survived either. Furiosa saves him once, and if he didn't take their vehicle he would've been recaptured.
>>nor would they assume joe's power
It was a team effort. Max didn't singlehandedly defeat Joe's goons.
>>so it's feminist because it shows how useless women are without men, and that's a bad thing
Why are you minimizing how the female characters affected the advancement of the plot? Furiosa and the Many Mothers were there alongside Max. Max wasn't a singular hero.

Taking the obvious bait. You are a edge lord pretentious fag. Who spends too much time here circle jerking with other obnoxious twats.

>The film doesn't have that ideology just because manic women heave it onto the film.
What if the writer/director claims that it does?

Star Wars ?

We've come so far that max eats double-headed lizards and turns into sir gruntsalot without even for one second matching the charismatic performance mels delivered with his interpretation over 30 years ago

what a wonder also that whereas in road warrior everyone was hunting for gas because it was so rare and precious here this seems to be not an issue. even less so considering that the villain has a party bus in his entourage with a freak who plays a flame-shooting guitar. and all of the characters drive through the desert for days because re-fuiling is of no concern. gasoline seems to exist aplenty. water not so much, therefore the baddie advises not to get addicted to it. like you can go without i

the digital look of the film, combined with its use of CGI, makes it easily the ugliest film in the series maybe even of this year. the plot a plot? is basically non-existent and where it shimmers through (like zoe kravitz nipples through her shirt) it just proves to be ludicrous, in a film that feels like three hours because it's that repetitive. this is man of shit all over again: one action scene that we have to watch over and over and over. they're driving, shooting, explosions, driving, explosions, shooting, driving, shooting, explosions. after 45 minutes I struggled to keep my eyes open and awake due to it's lack of anything interesting
maybe miller should return to making animated films about dancing penguins

I didn't say it was unlike the other Mad Max films in that respect, i'm saying that this particular Mad Max film has an ideology.

>I liked the movie you fucking mong
>someone who praises sw7 is a mad max fury road fan
There you have it

>He tells a group of 15 women (and no men) to go back and fight off an army of dozens of men (and no women).
why would Joe & co. let baby factories join their hunting group you retard?

>He tells a group of 15 women (and no men)
ahem

next time you're gonna tell me Aliens and Terminator 2 are feminist movie because Ripley and Connors kick ass
