I hate the episode because it is badly written. He is repeatedly referred to as omnipotent in that simulation, yet he is so easily destroyed. Where are his admin powers when he is chasing them to the black hole? Why does the update manifest itself as a black hole? Why does it conveniently transport them to the real game while trapping him inside the mod for eternity?

Their whole plan was doomed to fail, and yet somehow it worked out better than they could have ever imagined, because the writers are hacks.

The episode pretty firmly establishes that he doesn't handle unexpected developments/situations well. Basically once he realizes they're working against him he goes full REEEEEEEEE and stays in that state. Sure, if he'd calmed down and realized "hey, I'm god," he could've shut everything down very quick. But being god doesn't teach a person to think on their feet.

Technology has been democratized thus every race and gender have access to the tech sphere with the opportunities that follow from having that valuable skill set. The last season I watched was 2, because after that it went under Netflix, and I was absolutelly sure it would just become a SJW badly written garbage.

Then, you guys started talking so much about this episode that I ended up watching. And surprise: I was right. This was so bad and cringeworthy that I barely could watch until the end. Once again Netflix shitted on something I liked.

But okay, forgetting that, their plan is still absurd. In their eyes the best case scenario was they'd get rid of the DNA and kill themselves. They had zero fucking idea that they'd kill him in the process, and yet, if he lived, all he would have had to do was get some new samples of DNA (provided he didn't already have some kind of backup) and put them back in the game. At worst it would be a mild inconvenience to him, and he'd no doubt torture the living fuck out of the new A.I. characters because of it. Obvously the writers couldn't end on that note, so they contrived some bullshit that he ends up trapped in the game because reasons.

It's just bad writing, from start to finish. They took a concept from an earlier episode, and butchered it.

This episode is garbage, but there are a few good episodes sprinkled between 3 and 4.

People don't like this season because the stories are worse for the most part. They feel as though they end 20 minutes early without any conclusion. Even looking at the premise of the episode, they don't conclude the premise or see it through. They just kinda stop after 30 minutes. Arkangel is one of the worst offenders. It tells a story for about 30 minutes, girl does a climactic thing, and then it ends with her running away. There's no conclusion there, no continuation of the story. We saw climax and then nothing.

Even with the meme ending, either
1) He's found and released, which lets him hunt down the AI or
2) Without him around, the game fades into obscurity with a new game announced, thus causing the AIs to be trapped alone (or get hacked by people still interested in the game)
