Would you let your wife keep her last name?
Would you let your wife keep her last name?
No.
Depends on the name
no. I actually lost a fiance over this.
probably wouldn't have worked anyway. at least she didn't get any of my money.
thats a no no
If I move to another country and become a citizen there, I would have my wife keep the last name and probably have the children have it as well, but if I stay in the US then of course not.
Why exactly would it matter? It's the same person.
今日も一日がんばるぞい!
Yes. I would.
>believing that a Sup Forums pol user could ever get that close to a girl
My wife kept her name. In fact, since we were married in Quebec, taking my name wasn't even an option.
unpopular opinion incoming
shouldn't a system like this work:
boys take father's name
girls take mothers name
lgbt take neither (go your own way)
Only if it was cooler than my last name.
If it's something like Rothschild then yes.
are you that drawfag?
can you draw porn of the op pic
Fuck no that guy's cancer
Yes if it is better than mine. No if it is shittier.
Can I commission you to draw some Christ-Chan?
No, i wouldn't force her to change her surname if she doesnt want to but i would suggest to have my last name instead because i'm not jewish.
>have kid
>she forces it to take her name or else inevitable divorce, then it'll have her name and your paycheck
But yeah, go on, what the worst that can happen? Same person right :^)
if she held a phd level degree, yes.
No
That's like being cucked by her father
She doesn't want a mans last name well guess what?
Every fucking last name ever created was made by a man
This. If it was slaughter or something. Coincidentally I've actually met a woman with the last name outhouse before, and a crabby, and a prettyman . What are the weirdest/funniest last names you guys have heard of?
Crabbs not crabby
yes, I let my girlfriend call herself my wife so we can have all the fun of being married without legally binding half of my assets to her.
Fuck no. Shows lack of commitment, she'll jump ship the moment she thinks she can get a better deal.
are you a mohammed?
My 8th grade english teacher (a HOT young teacher) was getting married and had the last name Butcher. She said he was taking her name because it was better than his, being Priest.
Can confirm. My mother wasn't allowed to take my father's name.
Honestly, I'd be fine if family names were attached to the gender of the person. Born a girl? Get mother's name. Born a boy? Get father's name.
Yeah, I'd actually insist upon it. Growing up with my family was hell, and being the last male with the name I want it to die
Actually being a cuck
no
I have a unique last name since it was basically invented at Ellis island when my great grandfather emigrated here about 100 years ago. His original last name was more complicated so it was truncated to make it easier to assimilate.
Because of that, I feel like it's my duty to retain that kind of heritage. If I had a surname like Smith I probably wouldn't care so much but being only third generation born in America (I'm 100% white if that matters to you at all) I feel like it's my duty to carry on my family's name.
I wouldn't say that my wife electing not to take my last name is a complete deal breaker but it would be a serious issue with me. I'd have to evaluate her reasoning for being so resilient about not adopting it before I made a final judgement. If she were doing it just because then I'd have a hard time accepting it.
Isn't that a little rude nippon-san since everyone in your backwards country calls each other by their last name. It'd be like me getting a wife and everyone calling her Joe instead of debby
Down here, she always keeps her name. A person gets their first surname from the father and the second from the mother, meaning that the males still pass down the surname.
All that is relevant to me is that my children keep my surname.
If I have a daughter and she gets my name, she wouldn't be able to pass it on anyway.
Are you dumb? It's exactly like calling her Ms Smith or whatever your name is.
Not unless her name was attached to some title or land and I could try to make a claim based on that.
>you'll never be Mr.Prettyman
No
If it was something awesome and/or my last name didn't "vibe" with her first name and made it sound strange. It only matters to me that my son or daughter has my last name. No hyphen bullshit.
Obviously not, that's cucking her father. She keeps her last name and I insist on this, all the kids get my last name.
>not taking your fiancée's name.
Come on, current year!
fuck no
Fuck it out it her.
Of course, that's up to her and the kids get your last name.
We went with a dual hyphenation, becaus we both like the way Myhre-Gunn looks on paperwork.
>giving a woman a choice
The only good thing about marriage is knowing the wife has to put up with one shitty thing: changing her name.
If she won't even do that, there's no marriage. Literally every other aspect is a negative the man has to handle.
Dixit (pronunciation: dick-shit)
>>Are you dumb?
Do I have a Columbian flag? Nice dubs narco.
I'm a huge fan
NO, anyone who let's their wife keep their last name is a beta male cuckold who is going to have a failed marriage
Niggerballs
Thanks for admitting the burn paco
they usually shut up
Why the hell would I do that? It would be practically asking her to cheat on me.
That's not even English amiga
you dont deserve my good english
you get the american version
No, and I didn't.
Im the only male in my part family that can continueu the name, so no
You don't deserve the droves of our unwanted bleaching your women everyone they go on vacation.
>My mother had a better last name than my father
>TFW I don't get her last name
>Stuck with jones
Not having any children purely out of spite
Sure. I don't care. My glorious Aryan genes aren't carried by my name.
no. Absolutely no. Her last name is her father's, is it not? Marriage is when the groom asks her father for the bride's hand. Her changing her last name to yours is symbolic of the exchange. In some places/cultures there will still even be a dowry on top of it.
whats your last name?
Butt
His kids are entering first grade.
I thought you could choose whatever name order you want to give to your child these days, you can even give your father or mother's name to him/her if you request.
I work with a girl whose husband is considering changing his last name to her maiden name.
Honestly, what the hell is this all about?
Yup, who gives a shit. As long as the kids have mine, idgaf.
>tfw my last name is nearly extinct
>older brother has a single mom perma gf
(pretty sure they don't want to get married because she's got cancer, but he's the kid's guardian now)
>younger cousin is a straight c student who sadly doesn't seem to have much of a future
>me, kissless virgin
we are the only three people in the world capable of continuing the name
it feels bad knowing that the family name might end with us
and I just remembered that my older bro's last name isn't even the family's because my mom remarried long before I was born
shit
>Be one of 3 people who can actually continue the main branch of the family
Know that feel, bro. Almost the entire family died defending France during WW1 & 2.
It is the will of Tyrone.
Nope.
i have a shitty last name so yeah
Underrated post
Dont asian women keep their names?
I know china does
there's no such thing as changing your wife's name in my country in the first place.
Probably, I have no attachment to mine. Thought about changing it actually.
I wouldn't even bother to propose unless I was sure she would switch.
>Cashdollar
>Eatherlytreasure
>tfw no r34 of op pic
I don't think I'd really give a shit either way. "Securing a future for the white race" is among the most retarded statements I've ever heard.
Let me check how common it is before posting it here
Eh, there's 134 of us in the US so I guess it's safe enough, not like I have a goybook or anything
I did with the first one , she was cheating around the whole time.
2nd one I did not care any more.
we will she if there will be a 3rd attempt.
Her cute Japanese name won't go with mine which ends in -ov, so I would allow this.
