Is this a controversial opinion? I know Halloween is more famous, but the general consensus seems to be that The Thing is better. I think Halloween is a better horror movie.

>suspense thrilling isoltation
>dull slasher
they are not comparable
slashers are cancer of horror
Halloween is a masterpiece
The Thing is a better movie but Halloween is my favorite.
Pleb taste. Halloween was simply the first and you probably watched it as a child back when you were peeing yourself because you saw some scary contour of some object in your bedroom at night.
Patrician taste.
>alien whodunit
>suspenseful impending terror
they are not comparable
Both are shit
I think The Thing is the superior movie but they're very different from each other, nowadays I think it feels a bit dated.
They're both dated, but I think Halloween has aged better.
this user prefers gummy bears to apples
not as bad as this
The Thing is the superior movie.
Halloween is the superior film.
>blocks your path
>2 minute monologues of the doctor talking of pure evil while staring off into the distance
>not realizing those elevate the movie
>Halloween (1978)
>The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
hmmm
Texas Chainsaw was less of a slasher and more defined by its environment than leatherface.
The Thing is my favourite of the two, but I acknowledge Halloween was ridiculously influential and reshaped horror movies for the next two decades, at least
Thing's definitely scarier.
I think Halloween was cheapened by all of the other slashers that tried to imitate it.
>Some unknown alien that can shapeshift and perfectly imitate humans
vs
>immortal retard with a knife
take your pick
did they rerecord his lines for the intro of h20 with someone else?
immortal retard is honestly a scarier concept to me
