Would it have worked?
If the DCEU started in 2005

No because Singer's Superman sucked and was pandering to gays.
isnt that the x-men movies too?
KEvin spacey would have tried to rape Christian bale, assuming the martial arts stuff was a Batman meme. Bale would deliver a solid blow to Spacey’s midsection, knocking the wind out of him, then follow up with a jab to the face, breaking Spacey’s nose and disorienting him. A foot sweep from Bale would take Spacey off his feet and send him to the floor with a sickening crunch. Then Bale would place his booted heel on Spacey’s throat and say “You pickled the wrong Jimmie, innit” in a thick cockney accent before applying enough pressure to cut off Spacey’s airflow and killing him outright. After that they would have to recast Luthor and the film would go over budget. The big wigs would get nervous and seriously underfund the marketing causing the film to flop in theaters. Many would see it on cable and it would become a cult classic.
hearty kek
It still doesn't work now. Do you mean profitable?
No because WB studio tampering and bad idea factory was even worse back in the 90s and early 2000s.
Pic very related.
Allmthis hapoened bc they got fucking Kevin smith to write the script and he suggested Burton to direct. Smith has no grasp of story and just shoved in stupid comic references and he only suggested Burton bc he has no understanding of film and what it takes to make a good film, he just liked the Batman movies and Superman is kinda like Batman
It would have worked if it wasn't a desperate moneygrab created and run by nepotistic executives and the most smooth brained directors alive
How can you place the blame squarely on Smith when he had to write the script directly under the supervision of a batshit exec?
It would have been better than what we have now.
>established superman and batman with their own solo movies
>batman gets a sequel called the dark knight where he fights his ultimate foe
>superman gets a sequel called man of steel where he (presumably) fights his ultimate foe, lines up nicely
>batman v superman movie where we've already seen both of them by themselves in 2 movies so they're built up and their fight has real hype behind it
>eventual wonder woman, probably properly cast as a physically imposing and strong looking but very attractive woman, green lantern, flash, etc
I’m going off smiths own words in the documentary the death of Superman. He says burton was picked after they asked him(smith) who he would pick. Burton being burton then cast cage and tried to make Superman some faggy version of Edward scissor hands
fuck it was so close to perfection
Or they could have all been shit, you never know.
People would say, oh, why didn't Supes come help Batman with the Joker in The Dark Knight. Or at least help with the ferries.
Plus, Nolan's Batman worked grounded and realistic.
>People would say, oh, why didn't Supes come help Batman with the Joker in The Dark Knight. Or at least help with the ferries
People asked a LOT more than that when BvS came out though.
WB is severely influence by fads and flavor of the month actors who recently made a big splash. That is how nick cage ended up in the super man suit, just because con air was a hit. That is also how they had cast val kilmer and clooney as batman. The audience only see Goerge Clooney as George Clooney, who happens to own a bat suit. Don't even get me started on the disastrous catwoman which they created for no other reason than they needed an excuse to use Halley berry after her 2002 academy award. WB believe name recognition alone will carry any film and it shows in their advertising and decision making process.
Superhero movies usually work best with lesser known actors. Hugh jackman was nobody before his first appearance as wolverine. Chris hemsworth was an Australian soap actor who's career was launched by thor. Starlord turned a tv actor into a leading hollywood name. Even with RDJ, America mostly forgot he existed in the years leading up to Iron Man.
Smith's version would have been just fine as long as he kept the giant spider
I'm sure the talking heads at the studio could find a reason for why Superman couldn't help with the Joker thing.
"The sequel would have centered around Brainiac who would have originally been from Krypton. He would have followed Superman back to Earth from the remnants of Krypton during his five year trip. Also, the bank robber who shot Superman in the eye around the middle of the first film would turn out to be John Corben, a.k.a. Metallo for the sequel."
Nolan's Batman in terms of choreography, they don't give enough credit to. There were some really good fights in there.
the fact martha is a topic of debate rather than the morals and topics of the plot and characters speak miles
The DCEU would have worked if they continued the man of steel style, which to me is the greatest capeshit of the modern MCU/DCEU era. However they caved in and began catering to marvel kiddies who complained it was too dark and had too much violence, which resulted in the monstrosities that were suicide squad and justice league. BvS was bad but was made before they fully started catering to marvel audiences so it's still good in its own unique way
>following batman v superman, george miller's justice league with christian bale and brandon routh
FUGGGGGGGG
>marvel kiddies who complained it was too dark and had too much violence
No that was DC fans. They were loudly screaming "Superman DOES NOT KILL" again and again for months afterwards. Sup Forums was insufferable for a while and things were worse at my local comic shop.
I was with you up until you included a BvS movie.
Making Nolan Bats a part of a bigger universe with other heroes would've ruined it
i dont see how, besides nolan realism. im sure if warner bros put a bit of pressure on him to ease up on realism he would've, considering when he designed gotham for begins it was inspired by blade runner
A good BvS movie would have been great, though.
The closest we'll get is a fucking fan film from 2010. feelsbad
