The precision and discipline is was made this so amazing, if he'd blown himself up or sprayed into the crowd with an AK it wouldn't be remembered like this. It was purely political all the way through. This is the stuff of legenda that gets recorded and lives forever, historians thousands of years from now will still talk about this.
