Marvel, just like 80s movie producers, are slowly developing their cookie cutter formulas to make movie and improving them. Their movies are not great but they'll never be failures because of the way they make them.
Pacific Rim 2 is not the same. All the actors are ugly or underage; diversity is extremely forced putting some baboon looking motherfucker side by side with a 15yo white girl character. All other pairings were also obviously forced into having the races mixed.
There are also the little things.The movie looks horrendously cheap. Even more than the budget would make you expect. None of the actors look aesthetic. The Russians of the previous movie were fucking background characters yet they look like main characters compared to the kids in this one. This lack of care indicates a bad production.
