Will there ever be sci-fi kino again?

Will there ever be sci-fi kino again?

Sadly no. I was watching comfy SG-1 last night and it was obvious that the 90s were peak sci-fi

this show gave me feels like no other show ever has

expanse

>the expanse
it's the best there is atm, but it's a 7/10 show, compared to B5s 10/10
best thing about the expanse is the visuals tbph. some of the best i've ever seen in a space opera

half of them are dead already ;_;

No.
There might be shows with better visuals or more interesting/complicated politics and story-lines but I don't think anything can top B5. Because it isn't as much about the Treaty of Westphalia in Space as it is about what it is to be human in the best sense. All the different takes on this question exemplified with their benefits and drawback by the different races.
The only scifi that comes close BSG but it isn't better.

The Narns got what they deserved. This is a fact.

>Treaty of Westphalia in Space as it is about what it is to be human in the best sense.
Farscape is character based though, you're honestly telling me that they don't explore the human condition to the furthest extent?

best character

Quite the character development. Londo was amazing too. Compared to these two, the other characters were static.

I like Farscape but I think B5 did a better job.
Farscape is a lot of fun but you have nowhere near the character arcs like those of Londo, G'kar, or Sheridan.

I am still waiting for him to launch his singing career.
His friendship with Londo must be one of the best ever put on tv.

Babylon anons...
I'm still watching and I need some explaining
I'm at a point where a civil war happens on the Minbari homeworld
But they've been bitching all the previous seasons about how "Minbari do not kill Minbari"
So how come there be civil war?
Did they suddenly forget everything about their traditions? Same traditions they obsessively sperged about at every turn? So now, nobody cares and it's okay for them to kill each other?

that's because Farscape isn't about character "arcs" it's about character "relationships"

Nothing in any show compares to the way the crew of Moya develops from a group of people who hate each other and just care about themselves to a tight-knit family that would die for each other

Probably the first time the term warrior-poet made sense to me.

Everything is explained when you continue watching. Season 4 episode 11 for example.

Best frenemies ever.

Haven't seen it since it was new but...
I remember one group forcing another group out to the wilderness. Antarctica like conditions, they didn't kill them, just sent them to there death

If I remember correctly it was the coming of Valen and his reforms that put an end to the warring and in-fighting within the Minbari. Basically the entire culture rests on Valen's unchanged dictates as he intended. When the Grey Council is disbanded and there is no Chosen One the people are left without a leader and authority that harmonizes the differences between the factions that are still present but dealt with (think of the scene where Dukhat admonishes the council). So without a higher authority they slowly regressed to the natural state of infighting.
That's my take on it.

Patience then...
Exile? Sounds tricky, especially after I saw images of burning cities and people running... Using non-lethal violence that still burns things
So no, Valen, Minbari kill each other again?

Well... I'll keep going on then.
