>Would you like to see an all-new Stargate series created by Brad Wright and Robert Cooper?
I would because I liked all their earlier stargate shows, origins however will be complete and utter crap.
Julian Robinson
BLAH BLAH BLAH all talk, no action. Origins is shite.
Show me the money. And by money I mean Atlantis revival.

>Brad Wright and Robert Cooper same talentless hacks that ruined the franchise by showing SGU down our throats and doing it quite badly.
No thanks. give all creative powers to Mallozzi and Mulle, at least.

>will be it's already out and it's utter crap

SGU was forced to be a BSG clone, since it was cancelled.
Owen Russell
>How about you introduce a protagonist who knows nothing about the Stargate program and becomes the conduit through which the home audience learns about the gate network?
So like Mitchell?
Levi Rodriguez
Mitchell was a F302 pilot, he knew a lot about the Stargate Program. It still makes sense to make a soft reboot, insert new people in an already big ass universe instead of starting over.
You can still have cameos from the old casts and maybe an ending to Universe.
Aaron Williams
There was nothing wrong with trying to go in that direction. BSG inspired the last 15 years of sci-fi television and we all know it. The problem was they didn't strike enough of a balance between CW style melodrama and straight up space hijinks. They did like 10 seconds of those Daniel Stargate 101 videos and thought that would be enough to draw in new viewers that had no idea what a Stargate was and they hoped they'd stay for all the soapy shit. It didn't work, and by the time they realized it they had already driven off most of the other fans. My main point though is that fatigue was setting in rapidly, SG-1 and Atlantis were already losing viewers (a point a lot of fans seem to forget when they bash SGU) and a new tonal direction was the best bet for rejuvenation.
Liam Gonzalez
I can get behind a new Earth-based show like SG-1, set in the near future during or shortly after the disclosure happened and SG program was revealed to the public. You have Atlantis storyline (which is still on Earth or on the dark side of the Moon), the Universe timeline and occasional cameos from old ass general Carter wouldn't hurt. There's plenty of stories to fill the full 20-ep season.
Hire a decent writer that could balance the more upbeat adventure feel and more dramatic elements, personal stories and the bigger overall story arc.
But really, I want my Stargate Atlantis back, at least in some form. Hewlett, Flanigan and Momoa are still bros.
Hudson Butler
I agree with most you said, but I'm not sure that they were losing viewers from "fatigue". The TV programs were just being dicks, moving SGU from prime time to Thursdays or some other shitty time. Not sure if this was the case with SGA.
Must I explain how pathetic is SyFy channel? SGU's season 1 was shit, I was so close to even crying. Season 2 was good, second part was amazing. But s*fy had to take the shit.
Christian Garcia
RIP Joel Goldsmith. Stargate will never feel the same without you. Greatly improved upon the original David Arnold's score of 1994 movie.
They fucked up when they split up the Stargates and BSG, definitely. Sci-Fridays were the absolute peak of the Sci-Fi channel and some braindead jackass thought "Hey, maybe we can have more than one prestige night, even though no other channels do that." And then the wrestling came...
Logan Martin
>Atlantis were already losing viewers
fake news
Landon Gonzalez
SyFy also known as The Wrestling Channel
Charles Parker
I admit I enjoyed Rush and Young's constant banter and Lt. Tits. But that's about it.
1994 movie - shit sg-1 - shit atlantis - shit universe - above average for stargate, still shit
Wyatt Walker
>shshshsh, Carter, it's the Nature's way, let it go my sides have reached the edge of Pegasus galaxy already

To de-edge this tard's ratings:
>Moive was neat >SG1 started bad, got great, became meh towards the end >Atlantis started great, became okay to meh toward the end >Universe started cool, got had, then got cut when it was getting great
To best dive in, start sg1 somewhere in season 3 or 4. Or just start Atlantis at the start
Carson White
>then got cut when it was getting great I can forgive universe for being boring but I can never, ever, forgive it for teasing my fucking dick like it it that fucking cliffhanger ending still haunts me

>no poll option for never No, just no. Leave this franchise fucking be. It's over. Every new installment since Atlantis is only making it worse.

Damn. This is why Stargate always felt so damn epic even though 60% of it was just Canadian woods.
Angel Gutierrez
>There was nothing wrong with trying to go in that direction. There's EVERYTHING wrong with trying to go in that direction! For fuck's sake, I'm tired of overly dramatic "muh feelings of misery" relationship dramas in fucking space, it's not sci-fi!
Aaron Brown
>they actually acknowledge this >Carter's explanation is reasonable that human based aliens wouldn't want to live on non-wooded planets
Also reinforced Abydos was a shithole only good for the Naquadah
Christopher Foster
I'll watch it as long as I don't have to pay extra for it.
Kevin Hughes
I'm sure Hewlitt would be the first on board for whatever the next iteration of Stargate is. He seems like a real superfan.
Joshua Morales
>it's not sci-fi cause it doesn't adhere to my taste! hahaha get the FUCK outta here

>it's a subjective opinion that sci-fi shouldn't be a brazilian soap opera in space right back at you
Matthew Carter
>brazilian soap opera in space

There was nothing wrong with trying to make SGU the DS9 of Stargate but instead of going darker but still familiar they essentially made the gag from the 200th episode where the cast is young and "modern."
I get why people defend SGU and honestly some of it really could work but the actual characters and their actions were almost entirely awful. I've tried watching it to completion 3 times now and I always stop around the time the kids use the super important communication stones to go clubbing or whatever. And that's After one of the character uses a stone to have an afair with another characters wife? Its all a fucking depressing mess driven by the plot contrivance of the stones made worse by everyone being too much of an asshole or too unprofessional. It was basically the same with STD, everyone likes classic SG and Trek because of the upbeat, adventureous feeling, the proffesional capable characters and the world building. Even in darker shows like DS9 there is plenty of those three things, SGU just didn't deliver on any of them to a satisfying degree and watching everyone be assholes in space is not only Not Stargate but also generally dull unless there's a better reason for it that "muh damaged human beings"
Gabriel Martin
Upbeat is not a thing anymore. Limitless was upbeat, was canceled after one season. Forever was upbeat, was canceled after one season. etc.
People want to watch misery porn where everyone behaves unprofessionally.
